Advanced Controls
Okay, now to the advanced
controls. You can go as fast as using the afterburners using this
simple technique.
First, point your ship about 45% to the left, then down about 45%. Now, simply slide up, right, and forward. If you pointed your ship right, you should go as fast as if you were using the afterburners.
Now, onto avoiding shots..
Okay, he's why I put this in the advanced controls. Avoiding some
shots are tough. Like 10 smarts heading at you. Okay, here we go.
Cannons:
Laser, Vulcan And Gauss, Spreadfire and Helix, Plasma and Phoenix, Fusion and Omega.
Missiles:
Concussion and Flash, Homing and Guided, Proximity and Smart
Mines, Smart
and Mercury, Mega
and Shaker.
Easy to avoid, just slide out of its way.
A little tougher, since there's little to no flight time. My advice is to move all over the place when you know someone's shooting one of these babies at you.
Since their shots are covered over a wider area, you have to slide out of it's way a run away for the attacker.
These cannons abilities lie in it's fast firing rate. Slide out of it's way, and keep your eye on incomming fire.
For Fusion, slide well away from it. For Omega, keep your distance from the attacker!
Simple, dumbfire missiles (They have no guidance). Just slide out of their way, they have an explosion radius too, so make sure you're ahead far enough from a wall.
These missiles LOCK onto your targets. The LOCK warning comes on when you fire a homing at a target. Just slide out of it's way, while heading towards it's comming from, not directly though. The Guided missile do NOT lock onto your target unless you press the Fire Missile again. In which case, they become slow moving Homing Missiles.
Proximity Bombs and Smart Mines
Stay clear of the Proximity Bombs when you blow them up. Smart Mines are like Smart Missile Blobs.
Smart Missile track onto you, just keep sliding, and maybe circle strafe. For Mercury Missiles, since of their short flight path, you have to make it hard for your enemy to get an accurate shot.
Mega Missiles and Earthshaker Blobs (what track onto you) are more or less supercharged Homing Missiles. If you don't know where they come from, head around corners like crazy and pray they don't hit you.
