"Tell me about your life, Aretukito," you smile.  The boy's left eyebrow twitches slightly as if he's annoyed telling people of his life constantly but instead smiles brightly before he begins.

'Well, Recarta," he replies in his ruff tenor voice, "I was brought up in Frethin Dolphineer Hall.  My father was considered the Dolphineer singer there and my mother was a Master Dolphineer. I grew up living and breathing dolphins.  I never really noticed my shorter right leg until I stopped what ever I was doing so it never really bugged me... except for when kids would make fun of it."

"Since my parents were dolphineers I thought I should follow in their foot-steps so I aprentaced at the age of 12.  You see when you aprentace there you do a lot more studying and working with teh dolphineerless dolphins.  When you and the dolphins come of age they, like dragons, will choose their partner.  When the believed that I could take the station of Journeyman Dolphineer I went to the dolphins," here the boy looks away from you in shame, "Saddly not one choose me.  The leader of the pod said it was not that they didn't like me... in fact they loved me!  I just wasn't quite dolphineer material, they said I was more than that but couldn't quite tell what."

"I didn't understand for a time and stayed inside the hall feeling sorry for myself," Aretukito sighed then finally looked up at you with a smile, "Then one day a bronzerider came to visit the Hall.  He was young around 18 turns old and had been in a bad mood.  Seems his half sister's half sister is the rider of a gold and his bronze had his mind set on catching her.  Something that one of the other riders had done to the girl had set him off and he'd sapposably told the guy off right in front of the Junior Weyrwoman and she was slightly angery at him."

"Anyways, this bronzerider was skippin' stones off into the bay when I came upon him.  Seeing that his problems seemed greater than mine I decided to talk to him.  As we talked his bronze started to look at me really oddly.  After a while the big bronze walked over and rummbled somethin' to his rider in an exuberant way.  His rider looked at his bonded and then looked at me tellin' me that his bronze thought I would make a good candidate for a dragonrider.  Not at Talor Cliff of course, they already had enough candidates for their lastest clutch, a green clutch.  No this rider took me to Artaq Weyr and talked to the Weyrwoman.  Seems she decided to give me a chance at impressing one of her Queen's eggs."

"Who was this rider you talked to from Talor Cliff Weyr?" you ask out of curiousity.

"Oh, his name's
X'tro," the boy smiled, "Pretty nice guy when his Bitran blood isn't at work."

You chuckle and decide what to talk to Aretukito about next.
