Some Little Trips....
"make
one more round (at the roundabout!)..."...that's the most commonly used
words when navigating the driving trip from Bham to Scotland and back...Apart
from foggy road conditions, heavy snowfall the day we were supposed to hit the
road (and we were forced to stay in Bham for another day), difficulty in getting
rooms in Edinburgh (cos its Hogmanay), we all had a wonderful time on the wheels!!
The charming Lake Districy....
and the 'home town of Pink Panter', Durham....(guess why this is so!!! durham,
durham....got it??!)
Conjux is a
charming village, where the hospitality of the Pougets
is
simply unforgettable!!
Clear waters of Aix le Bains, (with Conjux by the shores)....and lunching
on the rooftop
......its
simply
relaxing and warm!!
From Conjux, I made my way to Toulouse
(where Yanling is 'stationed'), and just took time out to explore the city and
its surroundings, like Carcasone
.
And thanks to Eric and Yanni, who invited us to their summer house, and Yanni
cooked the best tasting Vietnamese noodles in the world!!!!
Barcelona is
just a 4-5 hours train ride from Toulouse, and it was really hot hot hot!! But
it was really exciting to see Gaudi's creations right in front of your eyes, and
the terrible heat is well worthwhile.....
In August, I made another trip to Scotland
again...this time's for the sake of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival
and Military Tattoo. Though it was raining throughout the day, the sky
cleared up just before the first bag piper blew his first note...that was really
amazing!!!
And the last trip made for the year was to Bath
and Bristol...this
trip was organised by Ann's house of residence.....we all had a great time
looking out of the bus windows
,
admiring the differences between the 2 cities and Birmingham....the walking tour
by one of the guides was one of the highlights, but i was so hungry that all I
could think of was...food!!!
