SCENERY IN THE PEAK DISTRICT

The peak district is an area of undulating farm and moorland, with many small villages and dramatic slopes. Its exposed nature makes its winter scenery exhilerating, while in summer its gentle appearance is very similar to the northern part of the Cotswolds. The scenes shown below are typical of the district, in which many unspoiled areas are accessible by energetic walking, cycling or by short drives.
