Area: | Bouriege is in the wine growing region of the Languedoc Rousillon.11 km southwest of Limoux where the method for making champagne was first discovered.Wonderfully situated for visits to the many Cathar Chateaux, Perpyteuse, Queribus,Roquefixade etc. There is Skiing in the Pyrenees, gliding at Puivert,caving in nearby limestone grottos, beaches (1.5hrs).and Barcelona(4hrs). |

Directions:
From Toulouse (Blagnac Airport). Take the autoroute A61 to Carcasonne (Direction Montpellier) approx 75 km.Take the exit 'Carcassonne Ouest' (West) and head south on the D118 to Limoux 26 km. From Carcassonne airport follow the ring road direction Limoux. Keep on going straight through Limoux until you reach a fork in the road. Take a right onto the D121 direction Magrie. Stay on this road for 11 km (7 miles). You will pass Magrie, Roquetaillade, and then, just when you think you are lost, you will be in Bouriege. Once in Bouriege turn right over a small bridge. It will have a hand painted sign saying Bellelauze. Over the bridge head straight towards Cafe Fecilitat with the blue shutters. At the cafe turn right. There will be two buildings on your left: The first with lavender shutters. The second is the local post office. Our house is the mustard colored house with red shutters, the house right after the post office. For the studio head up the small alleyway between the post office and the mustard colored house and you will find the studio on your right.
