Below
are five of my favorite bands that I have found to be most influential in shaping
the music industry. Metallica, KoRn, Limp Bizkit, Rage Against The Machine,
and Creed all have characteristics that make them extremely popular while also
getting a message across through their image and lyrics.Click on the images
below to jump to the selected band's homepage.
Metallica,
the name suggests everything about this band. A hard hitting group that originated
in the early eighties has continued to crank out a mix of heavy riffs, solos,
and ballads. With over 8 albums to their name Metallica has established a name
for themselves that will not soon fade away. Look for their new live album,
in stores this November.
KoRn,
established in the nineties this band has redefined the music industry and created
their own genre of music. With Jonathan Davis spewing out lyrics referring back
to his abuse as a child, KoRn has created a heavy genre of music that is becoming
more popular by the day. Look for their new album Issues, in stores November
16.
Rage
Against the Machine also has a name that speaks for itself. With politically
oriented lyrics rapped out by singer Zach de la Rocha, Rage wants to get the
message across to listeners to stand up for their rights and beliefs. Also a
hard hitting band they fit into the genre of rap/metal. Look for their new album
The Battle of Los Angeles, in stores November 2.
Creed
is a band that has quickly risen to fame in the past few years and has continued
its success by releasing their new album Human Clay. Upon hearing the lyrics
of Creed's Scott Stapp you could be led to believe that Creed is a Christian
band but Stapp claims they are not. Look for their new album Human Clay, in
stores September 28.
Limp
Bizkit, a band first recognized by KoRn before being boosted to rockstar status
following 1998's Family Values Tour. With crazy stage antics and costumes by
guitarist Wes Borland, Limp Bizkit really gets the crowd going at any concert.
With Fred Durst's distinct vocals and Wes' seven string guitar riffs Limp Bizkit
has firmly established themselves as rockstars of the nineties.
