This is Alex. He is a young man whose principal interests are rape, ultra-violence, and Beethoven. This happy little incident takes place shortly after Dim (center) and the other Droogs decide they want the "big, big money". To stem their growing independence, Alex knocks the unfortunate three into this river and slices Dim's hand when he thinks Alex is offering to pull him from the water.
