BOC set themselves apart from the pack with their first three LPs released between 1972 and '74 - the eponymously-titled debut Blue Oyster Cult; the eternally-classic Tyranny and Mutation; and the historically provocative Secret Treaties. 1976 brought Agents of Fortune including the top 10 classic rock hit "Don't Fear the Reaper" [quoted in Stephen King's "The Stand"]. Other notable BOC hits include "Godzilla" and "Burnin' for You". 1981's Fire of an Unknown Origin, originally planned as the soundtrack to the animated film "Heavy Metal" yielded "Veteran of the Psychic Wars", co-written by fantasy/sci-fi author Michael Moorcock (the Elric series) and singer Eric Bloom. Blue Oyster Cult's last album to date, 1988's Imaginos, ranks as one of the top concept albums in rock genre. Look for BOC's latest album Ezekiel's Wheel sometime this year!
