I was born in Monticello, GA and raised in Atlanta. I loved music ever since I was a toddler. At a young age I was exposed to various types of music: African American spirituals, Gospel, Jazz, R&B, Classicals, etc. In the church, I got my start singing in the children's choir, playing the hand bells and alto sax. That, however, was not enough. I wanted to perform!
I joined the Westwood HS marching band and learned the fundamentals of instrumentation. I also developed my showmanship by participating in the Jazz and Show choir known as "Peach". I was also selected for drum major and received a music scholarship to Clark College.
However, due to financial concerns, I chose to go to the Marine Corps. The experience provided me with on-hand, live training. I played various instrumnets and vocalized with combo bands, allowing me to experiment in songwriting and composition.
I know success does not come over night, but I am anticipating the day that I take music by storm.
