I am officially closing The Church of Dawn and relinquishing my Operator Status to a channel I started on EFNet more than 3 years ago and have tried to maintain for about as long. Due to lack of interest and low user turnout, I have found little or no interest to maintain the channel anymore.

    I do this regretfully because of all the wonderful people I have met during the years in the Church. We've all shared many interesting times due to the Church's ability to remain open minded.

    However, times do change and people move on apparently as it seems. I in turn, must move on too now. I want to find new avenues to explore and open my mind to other paths.

    I am not merely disappearing from the Net nor IRC for that matter, I am just choosing a new path to put forth my energies. I can still be contacted via email and on EFNet as DeadMouse lurking in #hackerz frequently.

    But as for the Church, I will no longer actively join the Church unless of some unusual circumstances such as an emergency or uncanny reunion of some sort. I have no qualms about anybody taking over the channel and trying to resurrect the spirit it once contained. I will notify the owner of the bot Icefire by the end of April 2001 to the closure of the channel so that the bot can be taken off in case someone else wants to take over the Church.

    I want to personally thank everybody that took part in something very personal to me and that shared a part of themselves so that my life has become a little richer. Thanks for the memories to all of you and especially those that need no mention of names. It's been a great several years! :)
