NOBODY ASKED ME, BUT....... |
Nobody asked me, but why won't the Supreme Court hear a case about first amendment rights when dealing with an Alabama Judge, but then demand a hearing on Vice President Cheney's notes pertaining to his energy meetings at the White House? The Supreme Court has stopped thinking about the role it was given and has taken the role it wants. They are playing politics and this is very dangerous to all Americans. 12/15/03 |
Nobody asked me, but the U.S. Government and definitely our schools should not be wasting millions of our hard-earned tax dollars on child obesity studies. The parents of these children should take the responsibility. Make your kids spend a little time outside running and playing. Not just watching cartoons and playing video games. When I was a kid, that's all I wanted to do, but my parents would make me go out and play. As for those who are suing McDonald's because your kids are FAT, McDonald's didn't make your kid fat. You did by stopping by there whenever the kid wants and allowing the kid to eat whatever the kid decides, not what the parent knows the kid should eat. Stop allowing your kid to run the house, take control, and stop blaming others because of your mistakes. 12/18/03 |
Nobody asked me, but the New York dog pound has proven that political correctness doesn't work. There has been a large amount of Pit Bulls that have gone to the pound and nobody wants to adopt them because of their bad reputation. The dog pound came up with the great idea of changing the name of the dogs to the New York Yorkies. Sounds cute, doesn't it? Well, guess what, people still haven't adopted the dogs since the name change. The reason why is that the dog hasn't changed. Remember growing up and hearing the phrase, "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet"? (That's Shakespeare, by the way.) Well, a Yorkie is still a Pit Bull. What I'm getting at is that saying someone is "mentally challenged" instead of retarded or someone is "handy-capable" instead of handicapped doesn't solve the problem. Let's stop changing names to make ourselves feel better and start trying to solve the problem to help others feel better. 01/07/04 |
