Killer riffs. This song is so infectious that I begin to wonder what the heck the radio stations are doing? Instead of supporting local acts, they are supporting sissy boy bands. Damn.
From Malaysia's greatest Chinese DIY record (Ji Duan Fen Zi, get it at Victoria or mail-order through huanghuo@yahoo.com, don't get it at the rip-off centre, Tower Records). Independent, underground and unsigned, Chong Yang sounded like a cross of U2 and My Bloody Valentine mixed with the Cure. Much better than those lazy-arsed Chinese songs played on radios.
Amazing melodies. Simple arrangements. Awesome. It's like Faye Wong fronting the mighty Coctuea Twins. One of the best Chinese songs i've heard for a long time.
New-Age metal aka Pimp Rock (??) followers. Chinese resurrection of Korn and Deftones. Simply rocking. No, you know why the Chinese music industry is run by a bunch of whining men in suits.. coz they got no taste. Hail Korn.. opps.. Moxuan.
A live take from 25th September 1993 show of Saturday Night Life. The Malaysian cover didn't even list down the title of this song. Why? Rape me? Tossers.. Taken from "SNL 25 vol. 25"
Another live take from Saturday Night Life (26th October 1996). The ultimate gangsta-rapper. "You got guns?.. " This is also the guy who took Snoop Dogg and Enimem to the top. Also taken from "SNL 25 vol. 25"
An instant classic in my eyes. Supersmooth 80's track. A Malaysian advert ripped-off the chorus and so was Sash!. I communicate well with this song... coz I live in a northern town too... :). A rare moment of inspiration.
