    Like The Specials, The Selecter wanted to broaden their horizons with this album and move beyond the rocking ska sound that 2 Tone was famous for. The results were mixed: the haunting rocksteady skank of "Celebrate The Bullet" and "Washed Up & Left For Dead" are moody classics, while more personal numbers like "Tell Me What's Wrong" and "Their Dream Goes On" fall into the "not bad" category. Second albums are usually the most difficult for a band, and so The Selecter can be forgiven for not knocking us out with this one.
