many people have asked me how to tell what pressing is what, so here's an explanation of each pressing :
- 1st Pressing - black and white lettering on the front cover. the title on the front cover is written in white. the actual record label is white with black lettering. on the back cover, Vince has a FUCKED UP hairdue. his hair was so white that it blended in with the background, and someone attempted to airbrush his hair into the picture. you really have to see this to appreciate it. Vince's hair is also fucked up on the photo on the insert. also, Vince's sunglasses are NOT on the back cover. according to the book "Motley Crue : Lude, Crude & Rude", the band only pressed 900 copies of this one.
- 2nd pressing - red lettering on the front cover. title is written in red. record label is again white with black lettering. Vince's hair has been fixed on both the back cover, and the insert. the insert photo is also slightly different from the first pressing photo. in the first pressing insert photo, Nikki's arms are crossed at his chest. of the three pressings, this one seems to be the most common and easiest to find. Vince's sunglasses have made their way onto the back cover by now.
- 3rd pressing - red lettering on the front cover. album title is written in red. record label is black with white lettering
i have managed to collect all three pressings of this one on vinyl.. i have spoken to many dealers, and these are the only official Leathur pressings of Too Fast for Love that they are aware of. if your copy doesn't fit into one of these categories, chances are you have a bootleg copy of this one.
i also recently scored a cassette release.
the initial Canadian release on the Elektra label (vinyl and cassette) includes STYG. i have been told that Canada just took the Leathur version, and released it with the Elektra label on it !!!
if you have one you would be willing to part with.........
