Wish That I Was There

Part Five

"What on earth is going on?" a little old lady asked Jessy. "Huh? Excuse me, let me turn this down. Hi. Can I help you?" Jessy asked. "What on earth are you doing and who are you?" she repeated. "Me, I'm Jessy and I'm weeding Grampa's flower beds. Who are you?" Jessy answered. "Oh a Granddaughter huh? You sure play your music loud." she said letting her know she didn't care for it. "Got to be loud to feel it. I listen to and I feel my music." Jessy explained, adding, "So is there a reason you're here besides to experience my music?" "How fresh." the woman declared indignantly. "Well excuse me asker of 'What on earth is going on and who on earth are you', I belong here, doing what I'm doing, can you say that?" Jessy asked. "Well I never." she huffed."Too bad if someone had I wouldn't have had to." Jessy expressed and the woman turned and walked away, heading to the house across the street. "Grampa? Grampa where are you?" Jessy called out. "In the kitchen sweetie." she heard and headed that way. "Grampa you're eating again." she exclaimed entering the room. "It's so good, I can't help myself." he answered eating leftovers from breakfast. "Grampa I'm sorry but I insulted the neighbor lady from across the street." Jessy confessed. "Oh that busy body. What did she do? Knowing her she probably came over demanding to know who you are and what you're doing." Grampa shared. "How did you know? She called me fresh when I asked who she was." Jessy shared. "Oh don't worry about her. It's okay if her nose is out of joint." Grampa shared and they laughed. "What's so funny?" Zac asked entering te room. "Zac" Jessy squealed, racing to his arms. "Hey babe." Zac said hugging her back before kissing her sweetly. "Oh Zac." Jessy sighed laying her head against his chest feeling as if their bodies melted into one. "Some leftovers Zac? She's a good little cook." Grampa asked. "So you cooked huh?" Zac asked. "Yeah. Grampa helped. We had a good time." Jessy answered fixing him a plate and the three sat chatting while they ate. "I'm going to go try finish the flower beds." Jessy said kissing them both and heading back out front but this time she used her personal CD player. She was almost finished when she caught sight of someone out of the corner of her eye, "Hey my Zoe. Pretty flowers huh?'" Jessy asked reaching and grabbing her, pulling her close sharing what she was doing. "They look a million times better Jessy. You're a dear. I've meant to make time to do this for so long now. Just thanks sweetie." Diana expressed. "No problem. I really like this. You get such a feeling of accomplishment. Instant gratification." Jessy shared as she and Zoe finished. "Done. Now to give them a drink of water. Want to help me?" Jessy asked and the girls helped fill the watering can, watering the flowers. "So what's up?" Jessy asked entering the house, making sure the kids washed up. "Me Papa." Zoe squealed. "My littlest Princess." Grampa exclaimed liftng her into the air before placing her on his lap. Zoe immediately grabbed a fork and helped herself to his plate. "Don't you feed her?" Grampa teased and they all laughed. "That must be good. You know what a picky eater she is." Diana shared. "Jessy cooked and it is good." Zac explained getting the rest of the leftovers out as Jessy helped him serve them up. "This is good." Diana exclaimed. Over leftovers they planned lunch inviting family over to meet Jessy. "Dad's family is overwhelming and by the time Mom's side makes it, it's like.... "Oh Sears is having a sale" time." Zac shared. "Great." Jessy replied rolling her eyes. "Babe, will you go out with me tonight? Tay's best friend is having a party and I'd like you to meet everyone." Zac asked. "Sounds like fun, I'd love to go with you Zac. Man I didn't really pack for a date. Like I said I didn't plan on staying." Jessy replied. "Let me buy you something okay? Let me take you shopping Jessy." Zac asked. "Oh Zac I don't know?" Jessy replied wondering what to do. "Babe remember, forever." Zac reminded lifting her hand and kissing the ring. "Oh Zac. Yes you can take me shopping and buy me something to wear to the party." Jessy said confidently. "It is really okay Jessy, I love you and I'd do anything for you." Zac replied. "Yeah hun I know. It's just still all so new even though we've been going together forever." Jessy explained cuddling into his arms, adding, "I so like it here." "I so like you here too." Zac said. As soon as plans were finalized, Jessy and Zac took the shopping list and headed out to buy Jessy an outfit for the party and the party supplies. At the Mall, Zac lead Jessy by the hand stopping at all the windows looking for something special. "I know Zats. They'll have something special." Zac said leading her back to her car and driving her downtown to Zats. "That's it." Zac said pointing at a mini skirt outfit. "Get real. Zac you're serious." Jessy gasped. "Just try it on. You might like it, I know I will." Zac suggested making eyes at her. "What I won't do for you." Jessy answered his advances by picking out a blue outfit and heading to the dressing room. Zac picked out a mini dress and a pants and top, having a clerk take them to the dressing room. Jessy put on a little fasihon show for Zac who loved them all. In spite of Jessy's arguing it was too much, Zac bought them all and they were on their way to the grocery store. "Zac I have no idea where we are. North of Grampa's to the Mall but then southeast to Zats and West to here." Jessy mumbled as Zac parked and lead her into the grocery store, handing her the list as he grabbed a cart. They made their way up and down the aisles, "Man we could feed an Army on this." Jessy shared placing more in the cart. "That would be Dad's side of the family." Zac teased. "That's everything." Jessy declared hopping on the front of the cart as Zac raced to the check out line. "Hmm I deserve something special for all that work." Jessy teased. "What you want babe? Candy bar? Gum? Mints?" Zac asked picking up items to tempt her. "Nah I want something special." Jessy repeated making her way to him slipping under his arm. "This is special." Zac moaned as her body rubbed against his. "But not as special as this." Jessy said kissing him sweetly. "Special, but not as special as this." Zac said kissing her tenderly. "I deserved that." Jessy teased laying her head on his shoulder. "Yep you sure did." Zac teased as he moved them forward. "Hey aren't you Zac Hanson?" someone asked. "No I just look like him. Even my Mom says so. She pulls out this picture of me when I was like 8 and then this magazine with Hanson on the cover and wow, like twins but I'm a girl." Jessy answered walking towards the person and they carried on a conversation until they forgot about Zac. As the person headed off in another direction Jessy headed back to Zac. "Excuse me. Can I sneak by you to get back with my boyfriend." Jessy asked the customer behind Zac. "So you're Zac Hanson's girlfriend huh? That was pretty smooth move there." the lady said. "Thanks. I sort of thought so." Jessy replied and they laughed. "Jessy that was hilarious." Zac said turning when he heard her. "Hey hun." Jessy said smirking, adding, "I don't believe they bought it. Totally forgot about you. She said it was a smooth move." "That it was." Zac said reaching for her hand, pulling her close to kiss her sweetly. "So how long have you two been going together? My daughter will die, she's a Zac fan. My name is Linda." the customer said. "Oh Zac this isn't going to work. I'm going to be so hated by so many of your fans." Jessy fretted. "No you won't. If they're going to hate you than they aren't fans of mine. My fans will be glad I've found someone special, you Jessy." Zac insisted. "Oh Zac." Jessy sighed huggng him tight. "It'll be okay." Zac assured, turning to Linda, adding, "We've been going together for two years now ever since Jessy could date. We were pen pals first, then became best friends and fell in love." "How nice for you. I really am happy for you both." she shared as Jessy kissed Zac's cheek before moving in front of their cart and began unloading it, "Now don't go thinking I'm going to eat this all by myself. I'll share a little with him." Jessy teased the clerk. "What you doing, having a party?" the clerk asked. "Very good. Actually we're having family over. Big family huh?" Jessy joked. "Zac Hanson? No wonder that's a big family." the clerk answered as she put the last of the things up and moved back to Zac, slipping under an arm. "I'm back and was working hard again. Hint, hint." Jessy teased flirting with him. "So." Zac teased back. "So. Last time I got something special." Jessy pouted. "What you want? Candy, gum, magazine with me on the cover?" Zac asked. "Where? Let me see? Oh I got that one already. That's the one you said you didn't have a girlfriend. Liar." Jessy said sticking out her tongue. "I'll take that." Zac whispered quickly kissing her, sucking in her tongue and making her squeal, before kissing her passionately. "Man I hate to be the bad guy but your total.." the clerk said clearing her throat to get their attention. Jessy reached for Zac's hand holding the debit card, taking it and raising it up as Zac stepped them forward so Jessy could swipe the card in the machine. "What's your password?" Jessy asked into their kiss. "My birth month and day." Zac answered and Jessy entered the code. "Your receipt." the clerk said as Jessy put out her hand the pulled from their kiss. "Umm thanks." Jessy said turning in Zac's arms as the last of their purchases were put in the cart. The loaded up and headed home. Everyone was busy cleaning, cooking or changing for the party. Jessy headed to the kitchen as the guys unloaded the groceries. "Mom here's your list, mark off what gets put away and I'll take care of it for you." Jessy offered. Soon things were organized and they were busy cooking and preparing for guests. As things came together, "Jessy you're an angel sweetie. Thanks for all your help." Diana said huggng her as the both sighed looking at what they had accomplished. "Makes you tired looking at it. Man that's a lot of food." Jessy said as the front door opened. "Grampa. My Grampa." Jessy squealed racing to him throwing her arms around him. "How's my girl?" Gramps asked kissing her cheek and hugging her. "I'm good. Missed you though." Jessy answered. "Excuse me. He was talking to me weren't you Daddy?" Diana asked wedging herself between them. "What gave you that idea?" Jessy asked tapping her on the shoulder, adding, "I was here first." "So I was his first." Diana teased back. "Dad looks like you have your hands full." Walker said, adding, "Zac. Son come help your grandfather." "Lucky man. How do you rate?" Zac asked entering the room, adding, "Babe you want to take a bath or shower and get changed now?" "Is it that late? I guess. I gotta go Grampa. See you when I get cleaned up." Jessy said leaning past Diana to kiss his cheek. "Don't be kissing my Daddy." Diana pouted. "Diana dear I think you should come get cleaned up too." Walker suggested. "Is it that late. I guess, bye Daddy see you when I get cleaned up." Diana said kissing his cheek. "Don't be kissing my Grampa." Jessy teased, sticking out her tongue. "I'll get you." Diana squealed racing after her. "You gotta move faster than that." Jessy teased heading down the hall. "Aaaah you little...." Diana yelled as Jessy reached the bathroom dooor. "You move fast for an old lady." Jessy said laughing. "Got too many kids not to move fast still." Diana answered joining her laughter. "Whew. I was afraid there for a minute." Zac gasped. "You, that's my wife after your girlfriend. How would I explain..." Walker shared. "You. That's my daughter after her son's girlfriend, while he and his father do nothing and I think I better do something." Grampa sighed as the three joined in the laughter. Diana made sure Jessy had everything she needed before heading upstairs. "Zac?" Jessy called out a minute later.   "Yeah Jessy?" Zac answered making his way down the hall to her, adding, "Forget something?" "Yeah I did. This." Jessy said kissing him sweetly, adding, "Thanks for such great folks. I really enjoy your Mom." "I think the feeling is mutual babe." Zac replied kissing her tenderly before she head in to take a shower and change. She was showered and wrapped in a towel when she heard the first of the cars arrive, looking out the window to see. Cars started arriving one after the other. "Man so many people to star at me. This is going to be so much fun not." Jessy said into the mirror as she finished her hair before slipping into the dress Zac had bought her, the most conservative of the outfits. Jessy cleaned up the bathroom wiping things down before heading to the laundry room depositing the dirty towels and setting aside her bag and the other two outfits. "Get a grip girl." Jessy thought as the volume of so many people sent her into a panic. "Here she is. Isn't she lovely." Walker said as Jessy made it to the end of the hallway. "Sweetie let me introduce you to my brothers, sisters and their children." Walker said taking her by the hand. It felt like an eternity. Nothing but smiling, hand shaking or hugging. So many people and so many names. "Sweetie it's okay. It'll take years to learn them all, don't worry." Walker said wrapping and arm around her looking for Zac and waving him over. "Hey babe. That's the wrong Hanson you're hugging on." Zac teased. "Oh Zac." Jessy said rushing to him, hugging him tight. "It's okay Jessy. We're a little overwhelming huh?" Zac asked kissing the top of her head while stroking her hair. "Zac there's so many of them." Jessy whispered as more relatives approached and Zac began introducing her. "Finally. At least I think so." Zac said as Zoe toddled over. "Oh thank God a familiar face." Jessy said picking her up. "Me hunry." Zoe shared. "Me too." Jessy added. "Me three." Zac teased and they headed to the kitchen. "Mmm this is great Jessy. Diana said you were the cook. She says you were a big help in the kitchen." an Aunt said as Jessy started to panic, thinking, "Who on earth are you.". "She is Aunt Judy." Zac answered as Jessy just smiled and nodded. "Thanks hun. I was at a loss. She's here so I assumed she was family." Jessy said after they had left. She fixed a plate for Zoe and herself, "You gave more to Zoe than you put on your plate." Zac said adding, "You okay?" "I'm just nervous and God I hate to puke. I'm not taking any chances." Jessy explained as they headed outside to eat, Zac leading them away from the crowd. "Wait here, I'll go get us a blanket to sit on." Zac said handing her the plates after she put Zoe down. "Here sweetie, want a carrot while we wait for Zac?" Jessy asked and Zoe nibbled until he returned and they ate under a tree at the edge of the woods. "Here you are. I wanted to know how you're doing." Walker asked. "I'm okay, just a little nervous. There sure are a lot of you." Jessy answered. "I hate to ask you this but my sister and her family finally showed up." Walker shared, "Sure Dad we'll be up as soon as Zoe's done." Zac answered. "Aren't I good. You can hardly see my lips move." Jessy said and started laughing. "Cool dummy you got there." Walker teased. "Give me a break." Zac complained. "Sorry hun. It's okay that you answer for me. Like I would say no to your father." Jessy said rolling her eyes. "We'd never hear the end of it. 'I remember when they first met and she told me no. Can you imagine such a thing." Zac teased. "No Grampa I can't imagine Mommy doing such a thing. It must have been that time of the month. Do you want me to drive you anywhere Grampa." Jessy added. "You're such a good girl. Too bad your 12 brothers and 11 sisters aren't like you." Zac teased in his old man voice. "Daddy taught me good Grampa. I'm his favorite. Actually I'm the only one he likes. Mommy had to take care of the other 23 herself. Serves her right for telling you no Grampa. Daddy says he gave her another talking to so they'll be 25 of us in nine months." Jessy barely got out as she burst out laughing. "I give. I can't take no more." Jessy choked out as they all laughed. "Man it's been a while since we did that babe." Zac said pulling her close and wiping her eyes. "Too long. You can always make me laugh, no matter how mad or sad." Jessy sighed laying her head on his shoulder. "You two are crazy." Walker shared, adding, "See you up at the house." When Zoe finished they headed to the house, Zac holding her hand. "He must do that better than I did. Don't remember you smiling like that." Walker shared kissing her cheek. "Oh but your hugs are to die for." Jessy declared hugging him tight. "Zac I like this one. You mess up and you answer to me." Walker warned. "Wait a minute, you're my father not hers." Zac asked confused. "Yeah but I can love her too. You I have to love, I helped make you. Her I choose to love." Walker explained. "Jessy. First Mom now my Dad. Is nothing sacred?" Zac complained. "Hun I'll share. If you're real good he might love you almost as much." Jessy replied. "Not fair." Zac pouted. "Welcome to the real world." Jessy said kissing his cheek. Zac quickly turned his head, pressing his lips to hers kissing her deeply. Her emotions soared, she was loved. As their kiss ended, Jessy sighed. As she opened her eyes, there were the warmest, most loving brown eyes searching for hers. Jessy smiled as he squeezed her hand that he was still holding. "I love you Zac Hanson." Jessy admitted smiling even bigger as she heard. "Jessy sweetie, I'd like you to meet my sister. Sis this is Zac's girlfriend Jessy. She's real special." Walker shared as he introduced the rest of her family. Zac took her by the hand and they visited some of his favorite relatives. "Now this one I'm not so sure of." Zac teased. "My Grampa." Jessy squealed slipping into his lap and hugging him tight. "How's my girl?" Grampa whispered and quickly looked around for Diana, laughing when he caught sight of her. "And what do you think you're doing in my spot." Diana asked, arms crossed and foot a tapping. "Not again with the he loved me first. Face it, he has too love you, he helped make you. And that's got to be the truth cuz Daddy told Zac the same thing." Jessy replied. "Walker Hanson how dare you. Did you tell Zac you had to love him." Diana asked definitely annoyed. "Oh lighten up. Yes I have to love him, he is my son. But dear I also love him because he is a kind, caring soul. One I'm proud of." Walker shared. "Thanks Dad. I love you for treating us like were are meant to be." Zac shared, explaining they were going out and needed to change. Zac led Jessy by the hand one more time for her to change into the pants set he had bought her. "Wow you look great in that." Zac moaned as she left the laundry room. "Can we go before everyone sees me this way." Jessy asked, adding, "This is a little hot for family meeting." "Sure come on babe." Zac said leading her to the car. "I'm going to run back in and tell Mom and Dad we're leaving." Zac said kneeling beside her. "Okay hun. Thanks for understanding." Jessy said caressing his face before kissing him tenderly at first until suddenly she had this overwhelming desire to kiss him harder than before. "Whoa. Where'd that come from? I like." Zac said as he pulled away. "I don't know. All of sudden I had to have you." Jessy confessed stunned herself. "Be right back babe." Zac said rushing into the house, returning and headed them to Ash's party.
