"Momma don't be mad please." Jessy pleaded using the pay phone at a convenience store near 72nd Street. "Jessy I'm just afraid you'll be disappointed." Barbara answered. "Momma I don't care. I can't go on this way. I have to know if what I feel stays the same after we meet. It makes you wonder if it's meant to be the number of times we've tried to hook up in the past and we've still never met." Jessy suggested with such disappointment in her voice. "So what's the plan." Barbara asked. "Well Erin mapped out all the places I might find him and if I don't, I try the house. If that fails, she promised to come out and help me find him." Jessy replied waiting for the lecture. "Should have known, Erin had a part in this, what did Sis say?" Barbara asked. "She doesn't know. She's been so busy with moving and all, I just haven't talked to her." Jessy answered. "I''d feel better about this if you had talked to Sis." Barbara explaned. "I'll call her next, okay?" Jessy asked. "Only if you promise to listen to her and if she says you shouldn't push this now, you come home." Barbara insisted and when she agreed she hung up so Jessy could call her sister. "Baby there's another call, do you mind?" Chele asked. "Why'd I have to go fall for Miss Popularity. My girlfriend is the most popular girl I know." Taylor teased. "You forgot most beautiful, most creative. hottest, sexiest.." Chele was teasing as Taylor interrupted. "Well you forgot modest." he teased back as she put him on hold and answered the other call, "Hello." "Hey sis it's me and you won't guess what I did." Jessy replied. "Hang on sis, I got Tay on the other line so let me go get rid of him." Chele shared and put her on hold. "Baby it's sis. I can't believe it, I haven't heard from her like forever. Man you probably know more about what's going on with her than I do. She is still going with your brother right?" Chele asked. "Yeah baby, they're still going together. At least until Jessy finds out about him looking at another woman and liking it." Taylor shared. "He what? Why? Doesn't he.... Oh Tay I'm so sorry. I know we agreed to keep out of their lives but sometimes it so hard." Chele complaind. "I know baby, I jumped down his throat about this. It's not what we're thinking." Taylor assured her, adding, "He's just tired of being in love and alone. He just says "Wish That I Was There." "But we manage?" Chele argued. "It's different baby, I know what you feel like in my arms. I've tasted your sweet lips. I know how you complete me when I hold you close. I've felt your love for me. Baby I can wait forever to hold you again because I know how good it will be but Zac doesn't is all." Taylor explained. "Oh Tay I miss you so. I need you." Chele whimpered on the verge of tears. "Don't cry baby, I'll find a way. Baby I promise we'll be together again soon. You better go talk to sis. Write me when you're done okay babe? I'm going to go catch up on me e-mail and see what's up in my girlfriend's life." Taylor teased. "You've got a girlfriend? When were you planning on telling me about her?" Chele teased and they both laughed. "I love you babe. Don't worry about the girlfriend, you know you're the only one for me." Taylor insisted. "I know babe and I love you so much, I can make it until I'm in your arms again. Just promise it'll be soon, please Tay." Chele asked with a whimper. "Soon babe. Bye. I love you." Taylor answered. "Me too." Chele replied as she hung up and picked up the other line, answering, "I'm back." "Good listen up, I'm out of change and almost out of time. I couldn't take it anymore so I'm in Tulsa right now and I'm not leaving until I find Zac and find out if how I feel about him is real. And I have to find out how he really feels about me. I know I'm risking it all and this stunt may be the end of us, but I can't live this way. All these doubts are killing me. Does he care? Does he have someone else and I'm just a distraction, a long distance safe distraction. I just have to know?" Jessy rattled off non-stop as the recording requested her to deposit more change. "That's it, we'll be disconnected soon." Jessy informed. "Sis I say go for it gurl. Find him, hug him, kiss him, love him and see if it's real. Call me if you can't find him, I'll have Tay get you. He'll do it for me." Chele said. "No Sis. I won't have you jeopardizing your relationship withTay for me. I don't want you involved. Do you hear me? Don't tell Tay..." Jessy said as the line went dead, hoping she had heard her. She was suddenly overwhelmed with this feeling something was going to happen and she looked around her wondering what. Not seeing anything, she picked up the maps Erin had made, studying her next move. "What? No way. Can't be." Zac said spinning his head around, looking at the blue mustang, catching a glimpse of her in the distance, "What would she be doing in this neighborhood?" he asked himself as he pulled into the drive of their old house and he parked in the garage. Zac made his way to the treehouse in the back yard, the one place he knew he could sort out his feelings. "Oh Jessy if I only knew. If I was just sure that you feel the same way about me. You're my bud, my best friend, my girlfriend and I haven't met you. I've never held you in my arms or kissed your lips. I'm dying to know that feeling and I'm so afraid if I don't find out soon. Man, that hottie. I've never thought that way about anyone but Jessy. Why now? Jessy would hate me if she found out. She'd never understand it's because I need her. I need her so bad, I look at other women the way I want to look at her." Zac pondered as he stretched out, yawning before he fell asleep. Zac woke with a start, sitting up without thinking where he was at and "thud". The pain shot through his head as he ht the low roof of the treehouse. "Aaaah" Zac moaned as he remembered what startled him, the dream he was having about the hottie until Jessy sad face flashed and he woke realizing he was about to cheat on her in his dreams. "God help me? I don't know what to do." he mumbled as he rubbed the sore spot on his head. In the corner he notice paper andpen and he began to scribble his thoughts , "The sun has fallen. Another day gone without you. My heart keeps calling, and I don't know just what to do. When you near me, I seem to forget my lonely days. It's more than a feeling. It's something that can't be explained. I wish that I was there, I wish that I was there. When you're not here, I wish that I was there. You were falling, Now I'm coming 'round again. I was calling, 'Caause without you it's the end. I just want to see you a little more. I just want to dream of you some more. I just want to see you a little more. I just want to dream of you some more. I just want to see you a little more. I just want to be with you some more. I wish that I was there. I wish that I was there. And you make me feel. Won't you take me when you're not here. It's been raining here. And I just want you to be near. I just want to see you a little more. I just want to dream of you some more. I wish that I was there." Not far from him, the blue mustang came to a stop on the side of the street and she looked at the number on the front of the house. "Cool house. So warm and inviting, just like a Grampa's house should be. They are so lucky." Jessy said to herself as she gazed across the street. "Is something wrong sweetie?" she heard bringing her back from her day dream. "Oh no. You startled me. I must have zoned out there. It's just that house is so different from the rest of them. It's so warm and inviting. Oh that probably sounds really stupid." Jessy said looking up at the elderly gentleman, wondering where he came from. "Well thank you sweetie, I try hard. Would you like to come in?" he asked and Jessy's eyes grew large at the realization she must be talking to Zac's Grampa. "Don't be scared sweetie, I'm no dirty old man, I swear." he defended himself. "Oh no, that's not what I was thinking. You won't want me to come in if I tell you why I'm here. I'm sort of trying to find one of your grandsons. See what I mean, I'm the scum of the earth. one of those, those, fans." Jessy explained and he began laughing harder and harder. "You are a piece of cake. Speaking of cake, I have some, actually Diana, my daughter, the boys' mother, made it for me. Would you care to join me Miss Fan?" he offered again. "Cake huh? Man that's not fair. What kind?" Jessy asked. "Not chocolate." he answered. "That's okay, it's not my favorite. I know I'm weird but I love carrot cake. Go ahead make fun of me, liking something healthy like carrot cake." Jessy shared. "With cream cheese frosting?" he asked. "I'm in heaven now." Jessy squealed. "Then come in, it's my favorite too and my Diana bakes a great carrot cake." he offered, extending his hand. "Is it okay if I park here?" Jessy asked and when he said yes, she locked it and pocketed the keys, stepping from the car and taking his extended hand. They made their way into the house and to the kitchen where he got plates, silverware and the carrot cake. "Ummm looks delicious." Jessy sighed as he cut her a slice. "Thanks. This is so totally weird. We're total strangers one minute, then wham we both love carrot cake and your grandson. Well on our way to friends wouldn't you say?" Jessy asked. "Weird. That's one of the boys' songs isn't it?" he asked and the two sat enjoying their cake and getting to know each other. "My Lord, Jessy. You have no idea how much he loves you. He was just here yesterday, actually that's why Diana came with bribery cake. She's worried about him and was hoping I could tell her what was wrong." shared. "Bribery cake. No wonder it tastes so good." Jessy teased and they laughed. "I know this is crazy, but I couldn't go on without knowing. I mean he says he loves me and I love him so much. Now I'm afraid. I shouldn't have come, Momma was right. He's going to come unglued when he finds out I just up and came out. He's going to think I'm spying on him and I am. Stupid, stupid, stupid." Jessy said chastising herself. "Hey don't be coming down on my new friend. Sweetie I don't think it's stupid. Now I'm not to thrilled with the fact you up and went without telling anyone. Thank you Lord for watching out after her for us. You should have told your mother first, and let us know to expect you on this end. Have you talked to her, does she know you're okay?" he asked. "Wow a Grampa chewing. You do care." Jessy teased, adding, "Yeah I called Momma. She wasn't thrilled to say the least. She thinks this surprise visit will be the end of Zac and I because he will think I don't trust him. That's not it honest. I just can't go on not knowing?" Jessy said her head drooping and a look of shame covering her face. "Oh sweetie don't look so sad. He'll understand you have to know what it feels like to be in his arms, to have him kiss you." he explained. "How'd you know?" Jessy asked looking back up at him. "It's why Zac came to see me. He's wondering the same thing." he answered picking up the phone and dialing. "Walker hi. Is Zac around son?" he asked. "No Dad he's not. He took off about close to an hour ago. Diana did Zac say where he was going?" Walker ased. "He gave me one of those stop being so nosy looks when I asked. I think he needed to be alone and think so probably the old house it's where all the boys go to think." Diana answered and as Walker started to relay the message. "I heard her son. If he comes back sometime soon, have him call me okay?" he asked. "Sure Dad. I'll have him call you." Walker answered before hanging up. "Sorry sweetie, he's not home. Diana thinks he went to the old house to think." he explained. "Nope was there right before I came here and there was no sign of anyone, drive and garage were empty." Jessy shared. "Hmmm where then?" he pondered. "Well I have a list of places a friend made me. A fellow fan but she's more obsessed and is good at stalking them." Jessy shared. "Sweetie why don't you just wait for him here. " he asked. "Nah. I think I'll check out these other places. It'll give me a chance to see where he was raised and the places he likes and all." Jessy suggested. "So you want to catch him at what?" he asked. "Oh Grampa. You think I'm trying to catch him at something, of course I am." Jessy teased, adding, "I want to catch him at living without me and see if I'm suppose to be with him." "I wish you luck sweetie, for both of you." he wished as he walked her back to her car.
