Sure About It

Part Twenty Two

"Morning son. How's Jessy today?" Walker asked as Taylor joined them at the breakfast table. "Sound asleep. Is she suppose to be this tired all the time Mom?" Taylor asked. "Taylor Jessy is young to be pregnant son. I can't imagine how she manages, pregnant while growing herself. What does John say?" Diana replied. "Didn't ask him. This has all been since her last check up. Do you know she felt guilty about wanting to have the baby now instead of going to her due date?" Taylor shared. "What? Poor baby. So much stress she puts on herself." Diana shared shaking her head, asking, "Did you two talk last night?" "About what? You know she did ask to talk later but fell asleep before we did." Taylor answered looking to his mother for answers. "You need to talk with Jessy Tay. She just needs reassuring son. You know I think maybe you should have a talk with your father." Diana suggested shaking her head yes remembering sharing her and Jessy's talk with Walker. "Good idea dear. You know son, I may not look it but I've had a lot of experience with horomonal women. I mean woman." Walker shared with a chuckle. "It better be singular." Diana squealed as Taylor and Walker headed to his office. "Morning Mom. Where's Tay?" Jessy asked finally waking and making her way to the kitchen. "He and Dad are still talking. Did he tell you about the latest song?" Isaac asked. "Well thank you Mom Isaac. He's in the office with Daddy sweetie. How are you feeling this morning?" Diana answered glaring at Isaac. "You tell him Mom. Maybe you ought to copyright the title, you could sue next time he impersonates you." Jessy answered sticking her head in the refrigerator reaching for the milk. "What?" Jessy asked rising to everyone staring at her. "Mom? What?" Jessy asked again when noone answered but this time she looked down then tried looking behind her to see if she was exposed or something, exclaiming, "Whoa. Head rush that's a long, long way around now days." With that the room exploded into laughter. Even the youngest ones were enjoying a good laugh. "Boy if I was sensitive you guys would be in big trouble." Jessy suggested. "Ssshh I have it from a good sourc that she is sensitive. Sssssh." Zac teased. "I heard she goes from happy to sad in two seconds flat." Isaac added. "Who said that?" Jessy squealed. "It wasn't me." Zac declared. "It wasn't me." echoed throughout the room joined by another round of laughter. "I confess it was me." Taylor said entering the room making his way to Jessy, bending to kiss her belly. "You said that?" Jessy asked. "Said whate? No. I did that." Taylor proclaimed caressing the baby, smiling from ear to ear. "You look awfully proud of yourself." Jessy shared gazing at him. "I am proud. Proud of the great job you're doing. You've done good babe." Taylor shared gazing back with a smile. "I couldn't do it without you Tay. Honest it's because of you and the way you care for me and the baby. I can do anything as long as you believe in me." Jessy replied stroking her belly, suddenly so sure about it, adding, "Even make it to our due date." "I bet you do." Taylor shared caressing her face, kissing her sweetly. "Sweetie you better eat something before your last LaMaz class." Diana called out. "I wonder if any more couples have dropped out." Jessy said fixing a bowl of cereal. "I don't know babe. Judy said to expect it. What's that now two boys or one of each." Taylor replied getting her a glass of juice and an english muffin. "It would have been two boys but Todd and Jennifer's son was still born." Jessy answered in a whisper, dropping her bowl at the realization. As the bowl shattered on the floor, cereal spilling everywhere, "I'm sorry. How stupid. What a mess." Jessy squealed seeing what she'd done. "Uuughhh.' Jessy moaned squatting to clean up her mess. "Babe I'll clean it up." Taylor insisted making it to her side. "Sweetie it's nothing. Zachary get the mop. Taylor get her out of that mess." Diana ordered. "I've got it sweetie." Walker said bending and taking the broken glass from her. "I'm sorry Daddy. Such a klutz." Jessy whispered. "Oh baby girl don't look so sad. It's only a bowl and a little spilled milk." Walker shared caressing her face then kissing her cheek. "Thanks Daddy." Jessy sighed taking Taylor's hand and rising. "I'm sorry it just sort of hit me, you know, that people do lose their baby. God Taylor." Jessy gasped hugging him desperately. "It's okay babe. I felt the same way. But Jessy we can't dwell on that babe. We have to have faith. We are so meant to be. All three of us." Taylor shared kissing her sweetly, caressing her belly. "You're right. We are meant to be." Jessy whispered. "Taylor bring her here. Here sweetie I have your breakfast." Diana called out. "I wish I could go with you." Taylor complained taking the seat next to her. "Tay I'm sorry. Please understand." Jessy started to explain. "Don't apologize Jessy. This is my own doing. Besides we'll have our own class afterwards with Mary. I really like her." Taylor interrupted. "I like her too. She knows so much. I feel safe with her." Jessy shared. "John insists she is the best midwife. Jessy I have to be honest, I still have reservations though." Diana added. "Taylor I know we haven't talked but... Tay you aren't agreeing with me because you..." Jessy tried to get out. "Jessy what is it?" Taylor asked taking her hand stroking it, adding, "Look at me. You can say anything to me. You know that right?" "Yeah I know that." Jessy sighed taking a deep breath then smiling at him before finishing, "Taylor I made all these decisions about having the baby without you. It is your baby. Oh Taylor I'm scared. Todd and Jennifer were in the hospital and their baby still died. Taylor I know I had to fill out papers to have the baby in the hospital but please that's what I want now." "Relax babe. I'm sure we can take care of it. Right Dad?" Taylor asked hugging her, calming her fears. "Of course we can sweetie. Let me call right now and take care of it." Walker replied heading to the office. "Oh sweetie I'm so happy. Don't you worry about a thing, Walker will handle everything. Between him and John it will be taken care of." Diana insisted. "It's okay then?" Jessy asked. "Of course it's okay Jessy." Diana answered sitting on the other side of her, pointing at her bowl, adding, "You forgot to feed my grandchild.?" "Oh no the look. Not the look. I'm eating, I'm eating" Jessy squealed shoving a spoonful in her mouth. "I'm eating, I'm eating." Taylor echoed taking a bite of her english muffin. "Excuse me. That is my grandchild's english muffin." Diana said crossing her arms and glaring at Taylor. "But I'm the Dad." Taylor choked out. "Taylor don't talk with your mouth full. How many times do I have to tell you." Diana scolded then chuckled. By the time the two returned from their LaMaz class, "Sweetie it's all taken care of. I'm so proud. I knew all the answers." Walker shared as they entered the house. "Daddy you're the greatest." Jessy squealed making her way to him. "Thanks Dad. Mom she said she was hungry. What we got?" Taylor shared making his way to the kitchen. "Sweetie there's some leftover pizza." Diana replied. "Pizza." Jessy moaned. "Want me to zap it or you want it cold?" Taylor asked opening the refrigerator. "Cold is fine. No zap it please." Jessy answered heading down the hall. "Here you go babe." Taylor called out as she returned carrying her pizza to the table. "Thanks hun." Jessy shared sitting and grabbing her milk and taking a big drink. As she picked up her pizza, "Sweetie I have some papers for you to sign and you'll be all preregistered. John is talking to hospital security and arranging things on that end. I need you to sign here." Walker said taking the seat next to her. "At the X?" Jessy asked taking her pizza in her left hand and the pen in her right signing the paper. "Here. Here." Walker asked over and over and when Jessy turned her head, he slipped a paper to the top, "Here. And one more time here." Walker asked winking at his son when Jessy signed the form for the marriage license. "Wow I was starting to think it'd be easier having the baby at home." Jessy pouted turning back as Walker gathered up the papers. "Don't have to now sweetie. You two can go to St John's and have the baby and noone will know until the three of you are back home safe and sound." Walker proclaimed. "Thanks again Daddy." Jessy said then yawned. "Come on babe. Let's get you home so you can take a nap." Taylor suggested. "Yeah I am tired. Oh I forgot Dave and Shelia had a girl. Six weeks premature but Mom and baby are doing fine." Jessy replied. "That one third of the class premature like they predicted." Taylor shared, adding, "Hope were in the normal third not the past due date third." "Taylor what a terrible thought." Jessy squealed picking up her napkin and swatting him before adding, "So help me if I don't go into labor within the next three weeks you are in so much trouble."
