Sure About It

Part 18

"Here they are." Diana called out as Taylor lead Jessy into the doctor office. "You look so cute today and you're looking well Jessy. How are we feeling?" Dr. Wesley greeted. "We're feeling fine." Jessy answered blushing. "Tell him about the leg cramps." Taylor whispered. "Leg cramps?" Dr. Wesley asked. "Taylor it was nothing. Anybody can get a charlie horse." Jessy pouted turning to him. "Jessy I worry okay?" Taylor insisted taking her hands in his. "Yeah okay. Ummm we were out for my daily walk around the lake and Tay stopped me to talk about something. I got this charlie horse. A real bad one. I think I scared Tay." Jessy explained. "Any occurrences since then?" Dr. Wesley asked. "Nope. Just the normal little aches and pains." Jessy answered. "Well see about increasing your vitamin dosage." Dr. Wesley suggested. "I wondered if that might be her problem. She drinks plenty of milk but with being sick to her stomach all the time, she just can't be getting enough vitamins and minerals." Diana shared. "Still having the queasies huh?" Dr. Wesley asked turning to Jessy. All eyes turned her way and it seemed as if everyone was pointing at her, accusing her for not doing the best for the baby. "Babe it's okay. We know you can't help it. Jessy it's all right you haven't done anything." Taylor whispered noticing the insecurity on her face. "Honest Tay. I can't help it." Jessy whimpered. "I know babe. You hate to puke." Taylor declared wrapping an arm around her. "Yeah I do." Jessy agreed with a chuckle. "Why don't we get started. Here comes Mary. Let's get you ready. Mary please." Dr. Wesley ordered. "Mary I'd like you to meet the Hansons. Walker and Diana, Grampa and Gramma and this is the baby's father, Taylor. Everyone Mary is my midwife. She's going to help me deliver a healthy baby." Jessy introduced. "Mary. I'm so glad to meet you." Diana said shaking her hand. "You let us know if there is anything we can do. If there is anything she needs." Walker insisted. "Oh Daddy you're so special." Jessy gasped making her way to him, wrapping her arms around him. "Sweetie we love you. You know that." Walker whispered. "I know Daddy. I love you guys too." Jessy replied hugging him. "Let's get you weighed in." Mary suggested leading Jessy to the back. After her vitals were taken, "Let me go get them please?" Jessy asked making her way to the waiting room. "It's time. Come on." Jessy shared extending her hand to Taylor, adding, "Mom, Daddy ready to she your grandchild?" "Oh sweetie I can't wait. Dear." Walker shared extending a hand to his wife. "Thank you Jessy for including us." Diana said making her way to her hugging her then patting the baby. Jessy led Taylor and his parents to the Ultra Sound room. "Welcome everyone. Now can I get you to lay down Jessy." Mary asked. "I just wanted to make sure they came." Jessy squealed making her way to the table, turning her back to it but before she could hoist herself Taylor was there to lift her. "Oh Tay." Jessy sighed smiling as she gazed into his bright blue eyes. "Isn't that cute." Mary sighed. "Yeah it is." Diana sighed. "Oh you two. Real sappy." Jessy giggled. "I haven't put the gel on yet, why you laughing?" Mary asked. "My favorite part, not." Jessy said lifting her top and pushing down the front of her pants exposing her belly. "I've got you." Taylor said helping her down. "You did get the warmer fixed right?" Jessy asked. "You tell me." Mary teased applying the gel to her belly. "Warm?" Diana asked. "Oh Mom it's been a while since you had a baby. Now we get warmed gel." Jessy explained. "Ready everyone. We should be able to see... Right there. Oh oh! We have a thumb sucker. See Daddy." Mary shared pointing at the monitor. "Walker look." Diana squealed. "The baby looks wonderful Jessy. Big and healthy. You've done a wonderful job sweetie. Just wonderful." Walker gushed getting teary eyed staring at the monitor. "You okay?" Jessy whispered reaching out and stroking Taylor's hand. "Jessy." Taylor gasped turning back to her, visibly moved by the sight. "Awesome isn't it?" Jessy exclaimed, smiling as Taylor took her hand in his. "Dad's right Jessy, the baby looks real healthy. You've done a great job babe." Taylor shared bending down kissing her cheek. "Oh Walker look." Diana squealed pointing to the monitor. "Ssssh. Remember what Tay said?" Walker reminded slipping an arm around his wife, pulling her to him and positioned them between Jessy and the screen. "Hey down in front. Daddy we know you like Mommy. Hug her later." Jessy teased. "Oh sweetie it's our first grandchild. Give us a break." Walker replied. "Taylor you parents..." Jessy got out then started laughing. "Sorry babe. They get a little strange now and then. It's a small price to pay. A little embarassing at times though." Taylor teased. "Jessy they are right, the baby looks wonderful. You've been doing something right. A few more measurements and we'll be through. Did you change your mind about knowing the baby's sex?" Mary shared then asked. "Nope. Still don't want to know anything but the baby is doing fine." Jessy answered, turning to Taylor adding, "Tay just because I don't want to know.. You know it's your baby too and maybe you want to know. I guess it should be up to you." "No way. I'll wait with you to find out if it's a boy or a girl. Man you'd never forgive me if I let it slip." Taylor insisted. "Now Taylor I wouldn't do that." Jessy exclaimed shaking her head yes. "Well I have all the measurements and pictues I need. Here one for the Grandparents and one for Daddy." Mary said printing pictures and handing them to Walker and Diana and Taylor. "Look babe." Taylor gleamed showing the picture to Jessy. "Awww your first picture of the baby." Jessy sighed. "Look at my grandbaby." Walker said turning and sharing the picture. "Your grandbaby?" Diana asked glaring at Walker. "Our grandbaby. Sorry dear it's, it's.." Walker gasped searching for the right words. "It's such a blessing. Walker the baby and Jessy are fine. We are so blessed." Diana choked out hugging him as the tears began. "Mother it's okay. You're right we are blessed." Walker agreed hugging her. "Well I'll be back witht he Doctor. Will you be okay little momma?" Mary informed then asked. "Yeah I'm fine." Jessy answered. "Well, well. Doing fine Jessy. The baby looks very healthy." Dr Wesley shared entering the room, continuing, "The baby measures above normal size wise." "Really? Did you hear Tay?" Jessy gasped reaching for him. "Told you babe. You're doing a real good job Jessy." Taylor whispered bending and kissing her forehead. "Tay if they're done, I need to get up. I'm having a hard time breathing." Jessy whispered back. "Is it okay if I get Jessy up. She has a hard time laying flat, the baby pushes against her lungs." Taylor asked not waiting for an answer before helping Jessy sit up. "That's just fine son. You keep taking good care of her and that baby." Dr Wesley answered. "Tay grab some wipes off the cart so I can clean up the gel." Jessy asked. "I'm sorry Jessy. I'll do it." Mary apologized. "That's okay. I'll do it." Taylor answered cleaning Jessy's belly. "Let's move to my office and see if anyone has any questions." Dr Wesley suggested and the group moved to his office. "John about the home birth. Do you really agree with it? I mean is it safe?" Diana asked. "Diana please try not to worry. I think Jessy will do just fine and Mary has a wonderful record of delivering healthy babies." Dr Wesley answered. "Mom you said you agreed with me?" Jessy asked confused."I do. I mean I did. Oh sweetie there is just so much that can go wrong and in a hospital they can handle it but at home." Diana answered. "Oh I see." Jessy replied getting quiet.
