Sure About It

Part Seventeen

Once again things in her life changed, Jessy was no longer Sure About It. She had been sure that Taylor would not be a part of her life after what he'd done. So sure that Zac was her friend. Days had past and it seemed that he was avoiding her. Up until now, Zac had joined her every time she had gone for her walk around the lake. "Maybe he's mad at me because of the party." Jessy thought noticing Taylor coming down from the house alone to join her. "Morning Jessy." Taylor called out to her as he neared. "Morning Tay." Jessy replied with a smile and little wave. "How you feeling today?" Taylor asked as he got in stepped and they continued around the lake. "Fine." Jessy answered quietly deep in thought over Zac. "I'm glad. I was thinking Jessy. Not to pressure you or anything but the Holidays are coming up and well, Jessy... I feel real bady about you being here and your family... I was thinking maybe you'd like them to come and visit. Mom was thinking maybe you'd like your Mom to come stay with you. Would you like that Jessy?" Taylor asked confused by her silence while he'd spoke. "Jessy? Jessy?" he asked again turning to find her deep in thought. "Are you okay?" Taylor asked stopping and taking her arm to stop her. "What? Ouch." Jessy screamed startled by his actions as she rubbed her arm where he'd held her. "Jessy what's wrong?" Taylor asked. "Well you grabbed my arm and pulled me to a stop." Jessy grumbled glaring at him like he was an idiot. "No I mean why didn't you answer me?" Taylor asked. "What are you talking about?" Jessy asked totally confused. "Jessy didn't you hear me?" Taylor asked now concerned something was wrong. "I guess not. I'm sorry I was thinking about something. I'll pay attention now what did you want?" Jessy explained, adding, "Ow. Ow. Taylor it hurts. Man I gotta walk I think I'm getting a charlie horse or something." Jessy started walking definitely favoring her right leg. "Any better babe?" Taylor asked taking her hand in his as they continued to walk. "Not really." Jessy mumbled stepping closer, laying her head against his arm. "We're almost there babe. You want me to carry you?" Taylor asked. "No it'll just get worse. Man I haven't had one of these in so long." Jessy grumbled in tears by now. They made their way to her place and when she moaned climbing the steps, Taylor swept her into his arms, carrying her the rest of the way. He placed her in her bed and removed her shoes before picking up the phone, "I need to talk to Mom. Jessy has a charlie horse." he shared when his father answered. A few minutes later Walker appeared bringing a heating pad for her leg and orders of bed rest. "Taylor I'm all sweaty. I want to take a shower." Jessy complained as he doted over her. "You're suppose to rest." Taylor replied adjusting the heating pad. "It's not like I'm going to run a marathon or dance in there. I'll stand still and let the water do the work." Jessy moaned. "You're a pain when you're in pain." Taylor teased. "Am not!" Jessy insisted. "Yes you are." Taylor teased. "Not." Jessy pouted. "Are." Taylor insisted. "I can't help it. I'm pregnant." Jessy pouted starting to cry. "Don't cry Jessy. Please baby don't cry." Taylor asked. "I can't help it." Jessy whimpered placing her hands to her face. "You can take a shower if you stop crying." Taylor offered. "Really?" Jessy whimpered moving her hands looking up at him. "Really baby. Just don't cry. I'm sorry." Taylor said grabbing a tissue and wiping her eyes. "I'm trying." Jessy wimpered. "That's my girl." Taylor said kissing her forehead then heading to the bathroom running the water. "Everything's ready. Let me turn this off." Taylor said turning off the heating pad, asking, "What you want to wear?" "I'm sorry." Jessy choked out as she started crying. "Sorry? What's wrong Jessy." Taylor asked hugging her as she cried. "I'm terrible." Jessy choked out. "No you're not." Taylor insisted. "I am too." Jessy sobbed. "Why Jessy?" Taylor asked rocking her gently. "I... I pretended to.. cry to... get my... waaaaay." Jessy cried. "I was had huh? Oh Jessy don't cry." Taylor insisted still rocking her. "I'll try." Jessy choked out. "That's better. You can still take your shower Jessy." Taylor offered. "You're so good to me. I don't deserve it." Jessy replied finally looking up at him gazing deep into his eyes. "I'll never be able to do enough for you Jessy." Taylor exclaimed then quickly looked away. "Why Tay?" Jessy asked but he didn't respond. "Jordan Taylor Hanson look at me." Jessy demanded. "What do you want to wear Jessy?" Taylor asked scooting away and heading to the dresser to change the subject. The slamming door spun his head around, "Jessy. Jessy don't be mad." Taylor pleaded making his way to the bathroom door, rapping on it. "Just leave me alone." Jessy screamed through her tears. "Never. Jessy don't ask me to." Taylor insisted still pounding on the door. "Just go away." Jessy screamed kicking her clothes at the door before stepping into the shower. "I'm sorry." Taylor shared turning and leaning against the door when he heard the shower start. When Jessy turned off the shower, Taylor stood, "I'm really sorry Jessy. Will you talk to me?" he asked. "Why? Tay you're the one who doesn't want to talk not me." Jessy replied. "Yeah I know. I'm sorry Jessy. It's just... I just always seem to hurt you Jessy. I don't mean to honest." Taylor explained walking to the bed and sitting down, hanging his head as he thought about the number of times he'd hurt her, disappointed her. Jessy slipped on her robe and headed out to see why he was suddenly quiet, "Don't think about it Tay." Jessy whispered stopping in front of him gently stroking his hair. "But it's true. All I've done is hurt you." Taylor insisted looking up at her causing her hand to caress his face. "That's not true." Jessy insisted kneeling in front of him, adding, "Long before I ever met you.. Tay do you have any idea how many of us have been touched by your words? How many times you've helped get through the bad times? How many times you've given us hope? Taylor I'm not hurt because you wouldn't talk to me." Jessy paused, smiling at him, caressing his face before adding, "Pissed maybe but not hurt." Taylor's face lit up as a smile appeared before a laugh formed down deep and rolled forth. "I love the way you can make me laugh." Taylor choked out caressing her face, gazing at her becoming silent, whispering, "You are so beautiful. The first time I saw you.." "What Tay?" Jessy asked placing her hand on top of his, gazing into his bright blue eyes.. "I knew Jessy. I mean I've never felt that way before. I've seen knockouts before and enjoyed what I saw but you. There was something different about you. You are so beautiful. And when you looked up and smiled at me, I swear my heart stopped." Taylor confessed as they gazed deeper and deeper. Jessy was blown away by his confession, moved by his words but most of all excited by his closeness. "I want to kiss him. I wonder if he wants to kiss me?" Jessy thought fearing he would hear her pouding heart. Taylor leaned closer, caressing her face, gazing even deeper into her brilliant blue eyes. Jessy was sure he was going to kiss her but at the last minute he kissed her forehead and took her hands in his. "Taylor?" Jessy whispered gazing into his eyes. "Yeah Jessy?" Taylor replied watching her bright blue eyes dancing. "Hun I seem to have gotten down and I can't get up." Jessy whispered, looking away then moaning as she tried to get up off the floor. "Let me help you. I'm so grateful you let me help. I swear Jessy I'd do anything for you." Taylor confessed lifting her up from the floor. "Thank you." Jessy sighed kissing his cheek, adding, "I better get dressed, I have a doctor appointment." Jessy moved to the dresser pulling out underclothes noticing Taylor in the mirror, "He's talking to himself." she thought, wondering why. She walked to the closet pulling out her favorite outfit, turning to return, noticing Taylor still talking to himself, "He mouthed Jessy. Why'd he say my name?" Jessy wondered. Jessy headed to the bathroom, drying her hair, "Bye Jessy." she heard right before the slider closing. "Tay. Tay." Jessy called out and when she received no response, "I guess he didn't want anything. I wish he wanted to go with me. What am I saying? What's wrong with me?" Jessy finished drying her hair, applying a little makeup then returned to her bedroom to dress. "No. Oh rats! My favorite outfit." Jessy moaned noticing the top had gotten tight and the stretchy panel now showed. Jessy pulled out another outfit and changed. As she stared at her favorite outfit lying on the bed, "I've got it." Jessy squealed pulling out the telephone book and dialing Maternity Shops listed looking for the same outfit. "You do. It's my favorite outfit and it's just gross now, the stretchy panel shows. Could you check and see if you have it in the next size up." Jessy asked. "I'm sure I do. Taylor loved the outfit so he had me order the next size for just this reason. So it's your favorite too?" the clerk asked. "Taylor what?" Jessy asked shocked she said Taylor not Zac. "Sweetie when he picked out your clothes, he just fell in love with the outfit you described. It's the only I had in the shop, it's a little too pricey for most of my customers but I just loved the outfit too so I ordered one." the clerk explained. "Taylor? Taylor Hanson?" Jessy mumbled stunned by what she heard. "Yes sweetie, Taylor Hanson. He said he adored you and didn't care how much it was that you were beautiful and deserved it." the clerk shared. "Oh Taylor." Jessy sighed. "Sweetie can you hand on. I think the outfit may have come in today's order. Like I said Taylor had me get one in the next size and it should be here." the clerk said putting her on hold. "Taylor bought me the clothes not Zac." Jessy mumbled trying to figure it out noticing the flowers on her night stand. "I wonder." Jessy mumbled opening the night stand drawere, pulling out the card that came with the flowers. "You're in luck it just came in. Would you care to pick it up or should I have it delivered as Taylor arranged?" the clerk asked. "Um if it goes out today, have it delivered." Jessy asked and as soon as she hung up, she dialed the Florist. "Yes I'm calling for Taylor Hanson. The flowers you sent this week.." Jessy started to explain. "Yes dear, the tulips. Didn't she like them? Taylor said she would love them." the clerk interrupted. "Yes she did. I'm calling to see if you could send the same next week?" Jessy asked. "Oh of course we can. She liked them then. That's good. He is so concerned about her and seems to only want to make her happy." the clerk said noting the order change, reading it back to her before saying goodbye. "The clothes, the flowers, the walks. Oh Taylor why didn't you tell me? Why send Zac? Letting me believe it was him who cared if I was happy." Jessy gasped noticing the time. Jessy headed to the garage, opening the passenger door of her bug. She fumbled with the glove compartment, reaching for the Registration, "Jordan Taylor Hanson. He bought me the car not Zac. Oh Taylor." Jessy sighed putting the paper back, placing her purse on the front seat before heading to the Hanson's. "Mom, Daddy." Jessy called opening the slider. "Oh sweetie you look so cute. How's your leg? Jessy are you drinking enough milk? Are you taking your vitamins?" Diana greeted. "Uh thanks, I think so. You know I eat Fruit Loops all day. Oh yeah, yes I take my vitamins every morning but sometimes I get the queasies and barf them back up. Why Mom?" Jessy replied. "I was just wondering if you were getting enough calcium. You know the baby needs so much right now, maybe your not getting enough." Diana suggested. "How would I know Mom?" Jessy asked confused now. "What's the worried look for? Are you all right baby girl?" Walker asked entering the room. "Yeah I think so. Now I'm not sure. I need to ask you guys something. I can't believe I'm doing this." Jessy said starting to pace. "Sweetie stop. Come her baby girl." Walker said opening his arms to her. "Oh Daddy I love it here. Mom, Dad I want to ask Taylor to come to my doctor appointment. I mean... It's just.." Jessy said suddenly searching for the right words. "It's just what sweetie?" Walker asked hugging her, kissing the top of her head. "It's just... Mom, Daddy... I'm suppose to have an ultrasound today and I just thought maybe Tay would like to see the baby. You guys too if you want to." Jessy finally explained. "Me too. You mean I could see my grandbaby?" Diana squealed. "Yeah Mom. I mean if that's what you want." Jessy replied. "Of course it's what I want. I mean if you really don't mind sweetie. Oh Walker I can see my grandbaby today." Diana squealed gently stroking Jessy's belly. "Daddy do you think Tay would want to go? Nah he probably doesn't want to. It's a stupid idea." Jessy asked talking herself out of it suddenly looking sad. "Maybe you're right. I still get to go though even if Tay doesn't, right?" Walker asked. "What? You want to come?" Jessy squealed suddenly all smiles again. "Wouldn't miss it sweetie. Thanks for asking?" Walker replied, asking, "Do you want me to ask Taylor for you?" "Ask me what?" Taylor asked coming down the stairs. "Hey Tay." Jessy greeted with a smile. "Hey Jessy. You look beautiful." Taylor replied. "Um Tay you know I have to go to the doctors but I didn't tell you that I'm supposed to have an ultrasound today. Tay I was wondering if you'd want to go. Don't feel you have to just because I asked Tay, that's not why I asked. If you don't want to just say so. I can handle it." Jessy asked then began to ramble on. "Jessy. Really Jessy. I'd love to go. Honest you don't mind. If it's going to bother you, make you feel uncomfortable, you don't have to just for me." Taylor insisted making his way to her. "I'm going too." Walker announced. "Me too." Diana squealed, adding, "Wait. Walker we need a sitter." With that the two both started calling, finally arranging for a sitter. "So what's the plan?" Walker asked informing her they had a sitter. "Please don't get upset." Jessy asked taking Taylor's hands, gazing into his steel blue eyes, finishing, "Taylor I'll meet you there. Daddy would you call the Doctor and put the fear of God in him. I know you can make this happen so word doesn't leak out." Jessy asked beginning to panic, adding, "You can right? You guys picked the Doctor, you can trust him right?" "Relax sweetie. Taylor get her some water. Jessy calm down." Walker suggested. "Jessy don't worry about the Doctor. Of course Walker will talk to him and let him know that you've finally asked us to be part of this. It's what we've all prayed for. Dear why don't you call John and let him know we are all coming." Diana explained. "Here babe. Drink this." Taylor said returning with a glass of water. "I'm sorry." Jessy whimpered looking up at him. "Don't be Jessy. You haven't done anything. Maybe this is too much for you. I'll stay away Jessy. Mom and Dad can take you." Taylor suggested. "You don't want to come?" Jessy squealed, then taking a deep breath, adding, "I'm sorry. I mean that's okay Tay. Whatever you want. That's okay." Jessy looked away not wanting Taylor to see how disappointed she was. "Look at me. Jessy please." Taylor asked. "I said it's okay Tay." Jessy said forcing a smile then quickly looking away. "Get real Jessy." Taylor laughed. "What?" Jessy asked shocked by his response. "I said get real Jessy. I don't buy that plastered on smile.' Taylor insisted. "I'm sorry. I can't seem to do anything right." Jessy mumbled. "Babe don't do this. Jessy please." Taylor asked taking her hands in his, gazing into her eyes. "Tay." Jessy wimpered, continuing, "Taylor please come. I'd like it if you came." "Honest Jessy. God that's all I want but I didn't want to make you feel uncomforable." Tay replied putting smiles on both faces. "Well good. I just talked to John and he's thrilled we are all coming. Sweetie you have the last appointment of the day so there will be no problem. He's letting the unnecessary staff off early. Diana and I are going down now to meet with John and we'll call you when the coast is clear son." Walker shared. "Oh Tay you can come with me then." Jessy squealed then started laughing. "What's so funny?" Taylor asked. "Somebody else is thriled. Jessy answered placing his hand on the baby. "Whoa. Active. What's he doing?" Taylor asked. "He? Do you know something I don't?" Jessy teased. "Be careful how you answer that son. I speak from experience." Walker warned. "No babe. A slip of the tongue only."Taylor answered looking sorry. "Oh I see. Don't let it happen again." Jessy teased. "The sitter is here so we're heading out. See you there." Walker informed. "Tay cam we go early. I'm all out of pickles and I haven't had one yet today." Jessy asked and the two headed to the garage. "I'm so glad you're taking me. It's getting to be a tight fit over there." Jessy informed. "Babe why didn't you tell me." Taylor asked shocked by the news as he opened the passenger door. "Like you told me about the car? Or maybe the clothes? How about the flowers?" Jessy asked watching the shock on his face. Jessy lifted a hand and gently placed it on his face, slowly caressing it, adding, "Tay it's okay. I know now that it was you that cared. It was you trying to make me happy again." "You deserve it Jessy and so much more." Taylor gasped looking away. "Like this?" Jessy asked picking up his hand a placing it on the baby, adding, "In spite of the hows Tay, the baby is such an awesome gift." "It sure is. Did you hear, you're awesome." Taylor shared speaking to her belly.
