Jessy put everything she had into accomplishing her goal. Once home she packed up her entire Hanson collection, put away their music and threw herself into her schooling and volleyball. "Not again." Jessy squealed throwing a hand to her mouth and racing off the court, heading to the locker room. "Hey Jessy you okay? Man you never puke. What's wrong?" Venita asked following her. "God I don't know. I hate this." Jessy said hurling again. "You look like shit girl." Venita said leaning against the sink next to the one Jessy was washing her face in. "I love you too. Man this cinches it. No way am I going to school in that smog filled city. I've done nothing but puke since I got back. Great way to lose weight." Jessy replied. "Lousy Diet Plan Jessy. This can't be good." Venita warned. This continued right through to the end of the school year. "You have two weeks before volleyball camp. If you're not better you are not going." Barbara warned, adding, "You'll be going to the doctors instead." "I'm tired of puking so I'll be getting better." Jessy insisted and decided then and there to conceal her illness at any cost. Over the next two weeks Jessy did just that, the cost being another five pounds lost. "Jessy enough with the dieting. You're getting too skinny. This isn't healthy." Barbara insisted as Jessy packed the car for volleball camp. "Really. Darn I was hoping for a smaller butt after all of this. Maybe I'll call Christi and see if she'll share her secret." Jessy teased. "Miss Buns Of Steel huh? " Barbara chuckled saying goodbye. The strenuous workouts proved to be more than she could handle. The camp called and informed her mother when Jessy passed out during the morning workout and was ordered to the nurse's office. "Jessy I feel there is something you need to tell me but are reluctant." the nurse informed. "What? Not that I know of." Jessy replied confused by her remark. "Jessy are you pregnant?" the nurse asked. "No." Jessy answered defiantly, gasping, "Oh no." "Oh yes. How long?" the nurse asked. "I don't believe it." Jessy sighed sitting back down clasping her hands to the sides of her head and shaking it no. A home prenancy test proved the nurse right and Jessy returned home to share the news with her mother who shared the news with Walker and Diana. "It's not fair." Jessy moaned slamming her door and throwing herself across her bed, grumbling, "All I wanted to do was put this behind me an move on. Nothing is going to be the same. No volleyball, no senior year, no.... NO!!!" With that she picked up her favorite glass dolphin from the head of her bed and hurled it against the wall. "Are you okay? What was that?" Barbara asked making her way to her room finding her slumped over at the broken dolphin, pieces of it in her hands. "Jessy let me. You've cut yourself." Barbara said bending down removing the glass from her hands before cleaning up the mess. Jessy stared at the blood dripping down from her hand, "It was my favorite. Why'd I go and do that." she mumbled. "Sometimes there is no explaining why we do something. I imagine you were angry over the turn of events in your life. Most likely the fact that you have no say in the turn of events in your life." Barbara suggested, adding, "I imagine Taylor feels that way about now. I talked to Walker and Diana. By now Taylor knows he is going to be a father and the baby's mother hates him for it." "It's not the same." Jessy snapped back. "What isn't the same? Yes Jessy he raped you and you had no say in all these changes going on in your life. Taylor is going to be a father and he has no say in it. You call all the shots now." Barbara replied. "What? No I don't." Jessy argued. "Fine. You don't. So are you going to go back to school and face everyone? Are you going to go hide out somewhere and then go back to school and hide the baby?" Barbara asked. "I don't know." Jessy mumbled rising from the floor, adding, "Why ask me?" "I'm asking you because you call all the shots now Jessy. What you do, the baby does. You call all the shots. If you never want to see Taylor again, the baby doesn't see Taylor. Just give it some thought. I know this hurts right now and it's so easy to blame Taylor and I do blame Taylor." Barbara tried to shared becoming angry then composing herself before finishing, "Jessy it's not just you anymore. You have to start thinking about that unborn soul you are carrying. Someday it's going to look you in the eye and ask you why you had him or her? Jessy please think about it. That's going to be hard enough to answer. Just consider what you are doing before you add why didn't you ever let me see my Daddy." Barbara headed out to call Walker and Diana to let them know everything was as well as could be expected. By the end of summer Jessy had decided that she would not return to school. Instead she would move to Tulsa, live next to the Hansons until she had the baby. Jessy was still undecided on school. The Hansons offered to pay for college so Jessy could be home schooled her senior year but Jessy was still considering returning to public school and going to college on just a scholastic scholarship.
