"Morning Sis." Jessy called entering through the slider. "Thank God. Zoe is driving me crazy and nobody else is up yet." Jessie gasped. "That's my fault. You know about the party right?" Jessy asked. "Party? When?" Jessy asked totlly unaware. "Well you must have been asleep when the folks got home." Jessy replied as she made breakfast. "So now that Zoe is happy, tell me about this party." Jessie asked. "Well after the game, when Daddy came to find me.. well it was a madhouse. People screaming and there were so many of them.. Well when Daddy finally got to me things got out of hand and soon everyone was screaming party." Jessy explained stopping to get Zoe seconds. "Don't stop. Are you saying just because everyone thought there was going to be a party and started screaming it, you did?" Jessie asked. "Yeah. That's exactly how it happened." Jessy answered returning to the table. "No way. Not the folks. No way would they do something like that. A misunderstanding and they throw a party." Jessie teased, adding, "Now tell me the real story." "That's exactly as it happened. Someone overheard Daddy tell me the family was getting together to celebrate the victory and the next thing we knew everyone was go 'Party. Party.' and Daddy just did." Jessy answered. "So tell me about it. Who was there? What did you do?" Jessie asked, taking a bite then adding, "Oh and where?" "Where do you hold a party for hundreds?" Jessy repeated, adding, "And you know better than to talk with your mouth full" "Oh shut up and tell me Jessy Mom." Jessie squealed. "Well someone has to and she's sleeping because I kept them out so late." Jessy replied before refilling their juice glasses. "So how late?" Jessie asked. "I really don't know. I didn't make it to the end. I think I caved somewhere around one or two in the morning. I curled up in Zac's arms at the party but woke up at home." Jessy answered before explaining, "There must have been three hundred, no four, maybe more. It was such a big crowd. Daddy had this brilliant idea about using the new warehouse, the one they just bought. Anyway Mom went on food and drink duty, the guys set up their sound system and viola a party. The entire team was there. All of the cheering squad. The coaches, athletic director, a handful of teachers, even the Dean showed long enough to thank Mom and Dad." "Thank Mom and Dad?" Jessie asked surprised. "Yeah he thanked them for hosting a non-alcoholic party. Remember last year's Homecoming, the drunken parties, the riots. The university was so relieved to hear about the folks hosting a party." Jessy answered. "Yeah I imagine. So what did you do?" Jessie asked. "Well let's see... We started off with the Team, the Coach, and singing the fight song. Mom managed to get us pizza. Can you imagine pizza for three hundred with no warning." Jessy explained with a laugh before contiuing, "Ike started up the music and we just spent the night, dancing, eating, talking. We just had a good time." "Sounds like a blast. I can't wait until I'm in college." Jessie sighed. "Don't wish your life away." Jessy replied thinking before adding, "Well I guess I'll take you guys to Sunday School. Let's get dressed." "Darn I though we'd get out of it." Jessie replied. "Me too." Mackie added. "No way. Upstairs and get dressed. I'm running home to dress and then I'll be back to help out with Zoe." Jessy shared heading out the slider and racing home to change and leave a note for Zac. "Zoe you have to get dressed." Jessie squealed chasing her around the room. "You need help?" Jessy asked entering the room. "She is being impossible." Jessie gasped. "No. She's jsut being Zoe." Jessy said chasing after her then dressing her when she was captured. "There that one is done. Let's get the rest of them and head out." Jessy said buckling the last shoe, adding, "I'm going to leave a note for the folks. Could you get your brother and sisters and meet me in the car? I parked out front." "Sure. Come on Zoe." Jessie answered heading down the stairs. "Everybody buckle up." Jessy said joining them in the folks' small mini-van. "Me go school." Zoe squealed as they headed out. "So who is teaching Zoe's class today?" Jessie asked. "On no I forgot Mom is her teacher." Jessy squealed. "You can handle it. It's just glorified babysitting." Jessie suggested. "Me and what, five or six two-year olds. Oh yeah I can handle it." Jessy chuckled as she turned into the church parking lot. "I'll take Mackie to his class for you." Jessie offered. "Thanks sweetie. You're such a big help." Jessy sighed getting Zoe from her car seat. "No biggie. It's just easier than handling her." Jessie replied heading towards the back of the church. "Morning Reverend Spafford. I'll be filling in for Mom today. The folks were gracious enough last night to host a party for the football team and we kept them out quite late." Jessy explained when greeted at the door. "The victorious football team. I heard from a friend last night that they were hosting a party at their warehouse on the northside. Such a relief. We were prepared for a repeat of last year." Reverend Spafford replied. "We had quite a crowd there last night. I'm sure that helped keep things calmed down." Jessy shared. "I heard. They told me at least three hundred were at the warehouse." Reverend Spafford replied. "At least is right." Jessy chuckled. "I received a call around midnight telling me things were well in hand and that the standby was being cancelled." Reverend Spafford explained. "I'm impressed. I had no idea they had put that much thought into the possibility of more trouble." Jessy expressed. "Last year's trouble cost thousands in police coverage, clean up and repairs. Not to mention the numbers that were injured. The City was not about to let it happen twice." Reverend Spafford explained. "I wonder if Mom and Dad knew?" Jessy mumbled as she imagined the preparation that had taken place. "I'm sure Walker was aware." Reverend Spafford shared. "That explains his not running the other way when the crowd started chanting party, party." Jessy squealed. "What are you talking about?" Reverend Spafford asked escorting her to the pre-school room. "Well I better get ready for class." Jessy said after explaining all about the party. "I still can't imagine how she managed food for that many on the spur of the moment. I guess you do owe her." Reverend Spafford shared before leaving. "Lucky me. Wonder how Mom manages this?" Jessy wondered as a few more toddlers were dropped off. "How you doing in here?" Reverend Spafford asked as he returned. "Okay I guess. Mom sure is something." Jessy shared occupying five two and three year olds. "Well Mom usually has help. Mrs. Brown is normally here with her son Jimmy and the two of them handle the class." Reverend Spafford explain. "Really. I don't feel so bad now." Jessy replied resolving a dispute over a ball. "Let me see if I can find you some help." Reverend Spafford said as he left. "Oh my." Jessy sighed as two more began to fight over another toy, announcing, "Toy time is over. Let's put them away." With that Jessy picked up a toy and raced to the toy box, depositying the toy, squealing, "I did it." To her surprise everyone else followed suit and all the toys were put away and the children were happy. "If you're happy and you know, say I am" Jessy began to sing to the delight of the children. "That was fun wasn't it?" Jessy asked when she finished as they all squealed and danced in joy. "How about a story?" Jessy asked, sharing her favorite 'David and Goliath' when their squeals died down. "More story." they squealed as she finally ended. "Sorry kids class is over." Reverend Spafford shared from behind her. "Oh I didn't hear you come in. Any of you." Jessy gasped turning to find not only the Reverend but all of the parents. "Me stay." one of the toddlers insisted as their parents stepped forward. "Sorry son, class is over." his father explaied. "Me stay pwease?" he repeated. "Sorry Mikey. I have to go home now." Jessy shared. 'Bye, bye." Mikey said quickly racing away. "Gees sure changed his mind quick." Jessy whispered as they all laughed. "Thank you again Jessy." Reverend Spafford expressed. "Sure. I did it for Mom so I'll make sure she knows." Jessy repied gathering Zoe up in her arms and heading out to find the other children. "Over here Jessy. They're on the swing set while we're waiting for you." Jessie explained, adding, "How'd you do?" "I think I'm in one piece. We'll have to check more carefully once we escape this place." Jessy teased. "You're a goof." Jessie laughed. "Give me a break. I just survived five two and three year olds all by myself." Jessy whined, adding, "I'm sure Mom will let you take her place next week." "Are you kidding? No way. Five Zoe's. God forbid there should be such a thing." Jessie squealed. "Actually your sister was the best behaved of the group." Jessy shared. "No way. You must have mistaken her for someone else. Maybe they switched dresses." Jessie teased. "Nah. I think she likes the little Douglas boy MIkey." Jessy whispered waving Avie and Mackie over. "Mikey huh? So young." Jessie whispered. "I know.I know. I didn't like boys until last year." Jessy squeled, adding, "When I met your brother." "Me hunry." Zoe declared. "Again? You ate before we left the house." Jessy sighed pulling her phone from her purse and dialing. "Morning babe. Where are you?" Zac answered. "Good old caller ID.. We're almost ready to leave church but Zoe has declared she is hungry again." Jessy answered. "Hungry huh? How about the Davis's?" Zac suggested. "Mmmm. Now I'm hungry. So you going to meet us?" Jessy asked. "Well you're not here to cook for me." Zac pouted. "I wasn't sure you'd be up yet. I almost didn't call." Jessy shared. "Good thing you did. I'll let Mom and Dad know. She called me earlier to make sure I knew where you were." Zac shared. "We'll meet you there then." Jessy replied gathering the children, loading up and heading out. 1
