"Mom? Dad? Are they here yet?" Jessy asked entering the house. "No sweetie. Soon. Actually that's where your father is right now." Diana answered making her way to her. "I miss him so much." Jessy replied heaving a big sigh. "I know you do sweetie. Not much longer. You know he misses you too. Totally driivng me crazy this morning. Is she back? How'd she do on the test? Is she going out for the squad again? Question after question." Diana replied wrapping an arm around her, adding, "So how'd we do on the test/ Are we cheering next semester?" "I feel good about the test. There were only a couple of questions I wasn't sure about." Jessy shared before whispering, "I'm not sure about the cheering bit." "Why not sure? I thought you decided you didn't have time?" Diana asked. "Yeah but they are so persistent. I mean when I leave the hall, the entire football team is lined up chanting my nhame. Majorly embarassing." Jessy shared with another big sigh. "How cute." Diana squealed. "Cute. Gees Mom. Like major center of attention there and you say how cute." Jessy moaned. "You are good sweetie. We really enjoyed going to the games too. Especially your father." Diana shared. "My father. Let's talk your father. He so enjoyed it all." Jessy replied, sighing, "Well maybe." "Maybe. Your father will be elated to her that maybe." Diana shared following her to the kitchen, asking, "What you looking for?" "I got a bad case of hunger going here. I was so uptight about the test I didn't eat." Jessy explained reaching into the cookie jar only to find it empty. "Silly girl. You know who lives here." Diana teased. "Zoe Genevive I wanted a cookie." Jessy moaned, adding, "Help me make some?" "You know I love to cook with you. Let me see if there's anything to go in them." Diana replied heading to the goody cupboard, reporting, "Empty. Not an M&M, chocolate chip. Nada." "Yuck. Peanut butter? How about sugar cookies?" Jessy asked. "Frosted sugar cookies." Diana moaned. "Frosted. Mmmmm." Jessy moaned. "Smells good in here." Walker declared announcing his arrival. "Daddy." Jessy squealed racing his way then asking, "Where's Zac?" "I love you too sweetie." Walker replied stepping aside. "Zac." Jessy squealed flinging her arms around him as he dropped his suitcases to pick her up. "Missed you babe." Zac moaned kissing her passionately, adding, "Mmmm you taste good." "Mom and I were just frosting cookies." Jessy explained. "Did you get any on the cookies?" Zac teased kissing her over and over, moaning, "Mmmm." "Hey Romeo let us through. We want cookies too." Taylor complained. "You haven't seen your wife in four days and you want cookies?" Jessy teased. "Real funny not." Taylor grumbled before shoving Zac, raising his voice demanding, "I said get out of the way." "Taylor." Natalie squealed as he pushed his way past Zac, sending Jessy tumbling to the floor. "Damnnit I've had it with you." Zac screamed shoving Taylor before turning and helping Jessy to her feet. "Zac I'm okay." Jessy whispered hugging him tightly as she worried about the anger she saw in his eyes. "You sure babe." Zac asked. "Okay sweetie? Taylor what is your problem son? You were on edge al the way here." Walker asked. "I'm okay Daddy." Jessy answered turning his way and smiling. "You shouldn't have blocked the way. He just wanted to see me." Natalie said making her way to Tayor, adding, "Right?" "Yeah baby." Taylor replied wrapping his arms around her, kissing her deeply. "Yeah right." Zac grumbled glaring at the two. "You're home." Jessy sighed hugging him tighter and tighter wondering what was going on with him and Taylor. "Gees I should have left sooner." Zac teased. "No. I didn't do so well." Jessy whimpered hiding her face in his hair. "I heard." Zac whispered rocking her slowly. "You owe Adam and Darcy big time." Jessy shared. "Yeah he told me." Zac replied. "He did. Oh boy." Jessy squealed pulling back to see if it was true. "He was just worried about you so he called me to have me call you." Zac shared. "What? Really?" Jessy squealed, sighing, "And here I thought you missed me as much as I missed you. Wrong." "I missed you babe." Zac insisted. "Yeah sure. Evertime Adam called to make you call me, you missed me. Shheesh." Jessy grumbled breaking free and heading to the kitchen grabbing a cookie. "Babe you know I missed you. I told you." Zac insisted on her heels. "Right. No wrong. Adam had to tell you to call me. How is that missing me? That was me missing you." Jessy argued with a mouthfull of cookie. "Not true." Zac insisted trying to wrap her in his arms. "Get your own cookie. This is mine." Jessy grumbled hiding her cookie while dodging his hug. "I don't want your cookie, I want your love." Zac teased wrapping his arms around her. "Yeah like I believe that. You said mmmm over and over. You just want my cookie don't you?" Jessy insisted with a giggle. "No babe I want you in my arms." Zac insisted kissing her cheek, moaning, "Mmmm." "See I told you." Jessy squealed. "Oh shut up." Zac whispered before kissing her deeply, moaning, "Mmmmm." "Oh son Jessy felt confident about the test." Diana announced. "Oh I forgot. You did good huh?" Zac gasped realizing he'd totally forgotten about it. "Yeah Mr. Guilty. There was maybe one, two questions I didn't know first time through and after giving it some thought." Jessy shared with a chuckle. "Yeah like you remembered." Zac declared. "Yes I did." Jessy insisted, adding, "Do you bug your mother often?" "Well.. uh.. yes when I'm not sure you're out of class yet I guess I do. Thanks Mom." Zac answered turning and blowing a kiss to his Mom. "I love you too son." Diana replied with a smile. "I'm waiting." Walker shared nodding at the cookies on the counter. "Well they're not quite done yet." Jessy shared nodding the icing bowl. "Yeah she was too busy tasting to frost the cookies." Zac added. "We know Mr Guilty Taste Tester. Stop sucking her face and let her finish." Isaac teased. "Mom give me a hand?" Jessy asked. "Like I was any help before. We did have a nice chat though. Zachary Jessy refused to tryout for the cheerleading squad." Diana answered making her way to help. "So you're not cheering next semester? Man the team will be bummed." Zac asked. "I didn't say that, I said she's not trying out." Diana repeated. "Yeah so she isn't cheering. Right babe?" Zac asked turning back to Jessy. "It seems there is this unwritten law that makes the football team rule the campus. At lest that's how they explained it to me. Daddy you went there is it true? Can they do what they want? Mom thinks it true because of the way they acted. She says if you don't know she'd call that guy she used to know. You know him, the captain of the football team guy.." Jessy rambled on and on. "What are you talking about?" Walker asked. "Yeah babe, what is this about the football team?" Zac echoed. "Oh I didn't tell you how I found out did I?" Jessy squealed as Diana neared. "No sweetie I don't think you said how you found out." Diana replied icing more cookies. "Well I told you about the team waiting outside the hall last week, chanting my name and all, trying to get me to try out." Jessy explained. "Don't tell me the surrounded you again?" Diana gasped. "No. They weren't waiting outside the classroom this time. I mean I was so sure they would be there. I probably looked looney, peekng around corners looking for them to jump out, screaming at me again." Jessy shared. "I wish I'd been there." Zac declared walking up behind her, wrapping his arms around her, adding, "How'd you find out?" "Well I finally make it to the parking lot and there they are, all of them and probably a hundred students." Jessy continued her story, "Well the captain hollers out something like 'Hear ye, hear ye. The Football team here declares that this upcoming football season they have chosen a special cheerleader to represent and support the team, cheering them onto victory.' I was so totally speechless. I mean I didn't sign up for tryouts. How else was I suppose to say no?" "What's this mean?" Diana asked reaching for another cookie. "Well I guess instead of a squad of twelve, there would be thirteen. I mean they even got me a new uniform and all saying 'Team Choice'. You know I had complained up the uniforms as a way of saying no. Wish I'd complained about something important like scholarships, grades." Jessy answered with a chuckle, finishing the last cookie. "I'll take that." Taylor declared reaching over her grabbing the icing bowl. "Ouch." Jessy squealed as the bowl struck the side of her head. "I've had it with you." Zac screamed shoving Taylor sending him tumbling backwards . "Boys." Walker hollered. "I'm sorry Dad but I've had it with him." Zac apologized avoiding his look. "Zac it's okay." Jessy whispered worried over the anger in his eyes again. "You sure you're okay?" Zac gasped wrapping her in his arms. "I was but suddently I can't beathe. Anaconda boy" Jessy teased. "I'm sorry." Zac whispered into her ear as he loosened his grip. "Zac what's wrong? What's up with you and Tay?" Jessy whispered. "Nothing." Zac replied. "Yeah right." Jessy mumbled before declaring, "I'd feel much better with a glass of milk and some cookies." "That's a great idea. Everything is better after milk and cookies." Walker announced gathering the family. 1
