"I want to see the dress. I couldn't believe it when Adam told me you
had it done. I was just her yesterday and you hadn't even started on
your dress. Everything was still in the closet when I left and now your
dress is done." Darcy rambled on and on. "I couldn't sleep again so I
thought I'd just layout the pattern to see what it looked like. Next
thing I knew it was morning, his sisters were here and I had sewn my wedding dress." Jessy replied leading the way to the house to avoid them
noticing her tear stained eyes. "So we're camping out huh? Haven't done
that in years. Wait I haven't done that." Adam shared. "You haven't?"
Darcy and Jessy squealed in unison. "Why are you shocked?" Jessy asked
turning to Darcy. "I guess it's never come up until now." Darcy
answered, "After all this time and I still don't know you." "I know the
feeling." Jessy sighed turning and heading them to the house again.
"What was that about?" Adam whispered. "You know." Zac replied. "I
thought you were going to tell her." Adam gasped as he stopped starng at
his best friend. "Sssh I will. We just haven't had any time alone
lately." Zac whispered trying to quiet him down. "So you go and invite
us out to camp with you? Come on Zac what's up with you?" Adam asked in
a whisper. "Hey you two coming?" Jessy asked noticing they'd stopped
following. "Nah. You won't let me see anyway." Zac pouted. "Poor Zac."
Jessy teased. "And no peeking." Darcy warned. "Sheesh. First Jessy, then
my Mom and now you." Zac pouted. "Come on. Mom's still here and she can
help you get me into it." Jessy shared leading the rest of the way into
the house. "Two people to get you into it?" Darcy gasped following her
into the house. "Mom. Mom can you help Darcy get me into the dress
again. She wants to see." Jessy called out entering the front door.
"Darcy how nice." Diana said making her way from the kitchen. "Mrs.
Hanson. Zac called this morning. Something about camping out with the
girls." Darcy replied. "Oh so you guys are camping out? The girls will
be thrilled " Diana asked. "Like we could tell them no." Jessy shared
with a chuckle. "We did." Diana teased. "Yeah but you said no with a
'ask your brother and Jessy' added to it. We would say no with a what?
Ask your brother Taylor and Natalie?" Jessy replied, adding, "I wouldn't
dare. Trust the girls to them." "Hey I wouldn't let anything happen to
them." Natalie squealed following Diana. "Natalie you have your hands
full with just Taylor. There is no way you could watch the girls too."
Jessy insisted. "Yeah you're right. He is a handfull." Natalie sighed.
"He is your handfull now." Diana teased then giggled. "Mom." Natalie
squealed. "Yes dear." Diana choked out as the others joined her
laughter, straightening up and adding, "Every in here to wash up. You
too little bride to be." "It really takes two to get her in her dress?"
Darcy asked again. "Two as tall as or taller than her, yes." Diana
answered. "Wait until you see it. You'll understand then." Jessy
answered the first to finish so she headed to the sewing room. "What's
that?" Darcy asked following, finding Jessy pulling her gown from the
closet. "It's the homemade dress bag she made for it to fit in." Diana
answered right behind her. "I'll open it and you two can take it out."
Natalie said joining the others, adding, "You strip." "Hey you think
you're Zac or something." Diana teased. "Oh Mom Zac doesn't say that."
Natalie laughed. "Natalie." Jessy and Darcy squealed in unison. "Okay
what is going on?" Diana asked. "Pick the dress up higher." Jessy asked
hoping to change the topic. "Higher." she repeated then snuck under and
slipped into the bodice. "Oh my goodness. It's beautiful." Darcy gasped
stepping back in shock. "Isn't just exquisite. I still can't believe she
did this. She is so talented." Diana added moving to Darcy's side
wrapping an arm around her. "Jessy she's right. You are so talented. I
can't believe this is that pile of fabric that was in the bag in the
closet just yesterday." Darcy gasped shaking her head in disbelief
again. "Just a miracle worker." Diana praised. "That's it she's a
miracle maker." Darcy agreed. "No I'm not." Jessy sighed as the memories
of Zac not showing for their hot date, their spat the other morning, and
now this latest tiff. "Jessy what is it?" Natalie asked noticing the
pain in her eyes. "Sweetie what's wrong?" Diana asked. "I'm no miracle
worker. If I was Zac wouldn't be mad at me." Jessy answered with a
whimper as she fought back the tears. "He's mad at you?" Diana gasped,
adding, "You sure?" "I know. He's still angry. He says it's nothing but
it's definitely something." Jessy answered as the tears started to fall.
"Oh sweetie. You crying in your wedding dress. This just isn't right."
Diana shared wrapping her in his arms. "Yeah I know. I've turned into a
cry baby lately." Jessy replied with a sniffle, adding, "Get me out of
this before I ruin it with my bad attitude." "It's unzipped. Lift that
side Darcy." Natalie said as Diana let go of her and the girls lifted
the dress. "I'm sorry. Sure put a damper on that." Jessy apologized
grabbing a tissue to wipe her eyes before putting on her shirt. "Sweetie
I think you're wrong about his being angry or mad. I'm sure of one
thing, he loves you." Diana insisted hugging her then adding, "I've got
so many things to do. See you later sweetie." "Bye Mom. Thanks for
helping me out." Jessy replied with a little wave. "See you later too
sis. I have to get Taylor home and get the blueberry mess out of his
hair." Natalie shared. "Blueberries in his hair?" Darcy asked. "Jessy
will explain. I better go." Natalie answered following Diana out. "What
was that about?" Darcy asked taking a chair next to Jessy's, who was
staring out the window. "God I've had such a bad day. Come with me."
Jessy said rising and grabbing Darcy's hand, dragging her along. "Where
are we going?" Darcy asked as they stopped in the kitchen. "I'm famished
and I want junk food." Jessy explained letting go of her hand, grabbing
ice cream from the freezer, two spoons from the drawer and a bag of
cookies from the cupboard. "Oh this is going to be fun." Darcy squealed,
adding, "I gotta have this." "Great idea." Jessy squealed noticing the
chocolate syrup in her hand, grabbing a jar of marchino cherries,
adding, "And this." "You got any whipped cream." Darcy asked opening the
refrigerator, grabbing the whipped cream, adding, "Jackpot." "Follow
me." Jessy said leading her out the back door to her favorite spot,
adding, "I love it here. Zac bought me this swing and placed it so I can
watch the wildlife. See." "Wow they're so close." Darcy said watching
the birds and squirrels. "We have some bunnies that come up in the
morning. Usually over there." Jessy shared opening the ice cream, taking
a spoonfull, topping it with chocolate syrup and a cheery before
popping
it in her mouth, moaning, "Mmmm." "So you've had a bad day?" Darcy
asked
following her lead and moaning. "Hand me that." Jessy said nodding at
the whipped cream, squirting some in ther mouth and popping in another
cherry. "Nah like this." Darcy said taking a shot of whipped cream, a
squirt of chocolate syrup, then the cherry. "Let me try." Jessy
squealed
following her lead then moaning over and over. "So what's up with angry
Zac." Darcy asked filling her mouth again. "I don't know." Jessy sighed
refilling her mouth then grabbing a cookie. "Oh I want one." Darcy
moaned reaching for a cookie, covering it with whipped cream. "That
looks good." Jessy sighed, squealing in delight as Darcy offered it to
her. "To friends." Darcy said lifting another cookie to hers. "Friends."
Jessy replied with a smile as she clicked her cookie to Darcy's and they
popped them in their mouths. "There they are. She's smilng." Adam said
noticing the girls in the swing. "She is going to have such a sugar rush
on that. She hasn't been eating very well lately." Zac sighed watching
the girls scarf the ice cream and cookies. "Eat well. She hardly ate
anything yesterday." Adam shared. "Well let's make lunch and see if we
can change that fact." Zac said sticking his head in the fridge looking
for what to fix. "What did you find?" Adam asked. "Some sweetcorn, salad
fixings, and... and.. hmmm. Nothing for the main course in here." Zac
answered. "How about here?" Adam asked opening the freezer, adding,
"Let's see." "Ah ha. Steaks." Zac said grabbing a package and putting it
in the microwave on defrost. "We need potatoes. Got any?" Adam asked.
"In that cupboard if we have any." Zac answered pointing to a cupboard.
"Great. We need to get these started." Adam shared. "Wow we sound like
we know what we're doing." Zac teased with a hearty chuckle. "Man we got
even us fooled." Adam teased joining his laughter. "Do you smell that?"
Jessy asked sniffing the air. "Yeah I smell steak." Darcy answered
sniffing the air. "Yep that's what I smell. Wondering who's cooking?"
Jessy asked as they packed up their goodies and headed to the house. "I
don't believe it." Darcy squealed finding Adam preparing a salad.
"Where's Zac? Stupid question. He's out front grilling steaks huh?"
Jessy asked answering her own question before adding, "Hope he doesn't
burn them like he did breakfast." "He burned breakfast? Maybe I better
go check and save the steaks." Adam suggested. "Good idea baby. I'll
finish that for you." Darcy replied pecking his cheek then working on
the salad. "Good thing you are putting that away. You two remember you
had dessert first." Adam said walking past Jessy who was putting away
the ice cream and cookies. "We'll remember." Jessy responded, adding as
he was out of earshot, "We'll remember you owe us dessert." "Oh yeah."
Darcy moaned as the oven timer sounded. "What do we have in here?" Jessy
asked, turning off the timer and grabbing an oven mitt. "Let it be
cake." Darcy moaned. "Nope. Baked potatoes." Jessy shared opening the
oven. "My what a balance meal. Steak, potatoes, salad." Dacy replied.
"Don't forget the sweetcorn. They have done remarkably well." Jessy
added. "Yeah I wonder why?" Darcy asked. "Yeah what do they want?" Jessy
asked turning off the oven then heading to the front porch. "Wait for
me." Darcy squealed placing the salad in the fridge and chasing after
her. "Potatoes are done." Jessy said opening the front door, followed by
Darcy. "So is the steak." Zac shared smiling at her. "Almost well done."
Adam teased jabbing him with his elbow. "Just how you like it." Zac
teased back. "Really? Then why do you always order medium rare?" Darcy
squealed. "So much you have to learn." Jessy teased. adding, "He likes
it well done when he is a smart ass and Zac burned the steak." "Oh. I
get it." Darcy moaned shaking her head no. "My bright one." Adam teased
as Zac placed the steaks on a platter. "Can we eat on the back porch?"
Jessy asked. "Sound good to me." Zac answered leading the way. "Let's
fix our plates in here." Jessy suggested as they made it to the kitchen.
"Great idea babe. Save the mess out there." Zac said pulling down plates
and serving the steaks. "Great idea." Darcy said grabbing the salad as
Jessy served the potatoes then moved to the fridge for the fixings and
Adam served the corn. "Let's go eat." Zac declared leading the way to
the back porch. "Go ahead. You two enjoy." Jessy said as Darcy stared at
her swing. "You sure?" Darcy asked knowing how she loved it. "I'm sure.
We'll sit over here." Jessy said following Zac to the love seat, curling
up her legs and picking at her plate. "I'm not mad. Honest Jessy." Zac
whispered noticing her picking at her plate. "Excuse me a minute." Jessy
said putting her plate on the table and heading to the house. "I better
go see what's wrong." Zac said heading after her, calling out her name.
"Here you are. Ahh Jessy." Zac said finding her kneeling in front of the
toilet. "Stupid move scarfing down all that sweet stuff." Jessy moaned
reaching and flushing the toilet. "I should have stopped you. You did
look happy though." Zac shared rinsing a cloth and handing it to her.
"You saw us?" Jessy asked. "Oh yeah you were having so much fun." Zac
chuckled. 'You guys must be pretty strong." Jessy said reaching for his
hand. "Strong?" Zac asked. "Yeah that sight would make most men run,
screaming." Jessy teased with a giggle as she slipped into his arms,
then sighed deeply. "It'll be okay. Honest I'm not mad." Zac insisted as
she clung to him in such desperation. "Yes it will." Zac insisted as she
shook her head no, adding, "I love you Jessy. You know that." "How can
you? You're mad at me and won't tell me why?" Jessy sobbed pushing away
to face him. "I'm mad at you? No I'm not." Zac insisted. "Yes you are.
The other morning you were mad. Yesterday. This morning." Jessy choked
out. "What? No I'm not mad at you." Zac insisted. "Then what is it?"
Jessy asked as the sobs subsided and she wondered what was wrong.
"It's..it's.. well it's you thinking that your life has changed so much.
It has Jessy. I guess I'm just worried that I ask too much of you." Zac
finally shared. "Oh. I worry about the same thing sometimes." Jessy
responded taking his hands in hers. "You do?" Zac gasped. "Yeah I do.
There have been so many changes. I worried about it for awhile. You know
is this going to come back and haunt me later. I've made all these
changes and then later I'll regret it. Jessy shared. "Yeah. Yeah Jessy
that's what I'm worried about." Zac shared squeezing her hands.
"Remember the other night when I said I need to figure out if not being
the most important thing in your life would be okay for me?" Jessy
asked. "Yeah. That's when it started. I had no idea. I just assumed you
were happy with everything." Zac shared, adding, "I've thought about
nothing since." "Duh. Oh I can't believe I didn't put it together. I
should have know." Jessy sighed, gazing at him, apologizing, "I'm so
sorry Zac. I should have realized what was wrong instead of going off on
you." "You? I knew I should have just told you. I've been trying. I
guess I was just afraid." Zac shared. "Afraid? Of me? Awww give me a
break." Jessy teased smiling at him so big. "Yeah afraid of you.
Remember these?" Zac teased back lifting her arms. "You mean these?"
Jessy teased flexing her biceps. "Yep. Them." Zac replied dropping her
arms and hugging her tight. "I'm sorry." they said in unison before
bursting out laughing. "You feel like eating?" Zac asked. "Yep. I'm
starving suddenly." Jessy answered taking his extended hand and
following him back to Darcy and Adam and their food. "Well that looks
better." Adam declared as the two came into view. "Well I see the ice
cream worked." Darcy squealed at the smile on Jessy's face. "Oh yeah.
Worked so well she just up chucked it all. Way too much sugar." Zac
shared. "I'm starved so you'll have to excuse me a moment." Jessy said
rushing to her seat, picking up her plate, eating her potatoe then
steak. "How about this?" Zac said returning from the kitchen with a
glass of milk. "How'd you know?" Jessy asked taking the glass and
downing half of it. "You usually drink milk when you don't feel well."
Zac answered taking the seat next to her and picking up his plate.
"Thanks for loving me." Jessy whispered leaning his way, kissing him
sweetly. "Hey that's not bad. Good job benefits you got there." Adam
teased. "I'll benefit you." Darcy squealed plopping in his lap then
kissing him passionately. "Whoa. I like these benefits." Adam sighed.
"Isn't love wonderful." Jessy sighed laying her head on Zac's shoulder.
"Oh boy this is one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't
questions isn't. Man I hate the questions." Zac teased. "You. I dread
the 'do I look fat in these' question." Adam added shaking his head no.
"What's that?" Zac teased back. "Oh shut up. You wait someday she'll get
you." Adam insisted. "Yeah like when she's nine months pregnant maybe."
Darcy squealed. "Get real. I already asked you that question. Don't you
remember?" Jessy argued. "What? You did babe? Are you sure?" Zac asked
giving it some serious thought, laughing then adding, "Oh yeah her
riding pants. Did you get a load of those bloomers." "They are not
bloomers, they're jodpurs." Jessy replied laughing along with him. "I
wish we could have gone. I still don't believe you. What don't you do?"
Darcy sighed. "Sorry we missed you riding Jessy. Sounds like we really
missed it. Zac says you don't plan on riding anytime soon." Adam added.
"I don't think your sister would have been too happy if you hadn't come
to her wedding." Jessy squealed. "It was so boring." Darcy sighed
slipping of Adam's lap and curling up next to him as Adam shook his head
yes in agreement. "Boring? Well you better check in with Natalie and
make sure we aren't doing any of those boring things." Jessy suggested,
adding, "We can't have our guests bored." "Don't worry babe. You haven't
met her sister." Zac shared, adding, "It's hard to believe they are
sister actually." "What? She isn/t a blast like Darcy? How can that be?"
Jessy asked. "Blast? Did you hear? She thinks I'm a blast." Darcy
giggled turning to Adam and poking him in the arm. "She doesn't live
with you." Adam replied, regretting the words as they left his lips.
"Adam Greyson I don't believe you said that." Darcy gasped scooting
away, glaring at him. "Baby I didn't mean it like that." Adam
apologized, adding, "Tell her Zac. When you live with someone you see
the blast and the not so much a blast." "What are you talking about?
Jessy is a blast to be with all the time." Zac answered turning to Jessy
making eyes at her to go along with him. "Yeah even when I'm puking my
guts out. Zac's always there laughing up a storm." Jessy added giving
him a little shove. "Washcloth duty. I am so good at that." Zac teased
shoving her back. "Oh and the morning farts. He just loves the
mornings." Jessy teased. "Yeah nothing like the real you." Zac teased
with his nose plugged. "Look who's talking." Jessy replied both hands
plugging her nose. "Believe me don't visit the morning after the chili
cook off. Adam smeels dead." Darcy shared with a small laugh. "I agree.
That's no exaggeration either." Zac insisted. "Oh my. Sounds like I have
competition." Jessy asked with a chuckle "Sorry babe. You may stink but
Adam is a hundred times worse." Zac replied. "Oh Adam I'm jealous."
Jessy giggled. "Stop picking on me. I stink. There I said it. I'm a
stinky farter." Adam grumbled. "That's not all he is stinky at." Darcy
teased, adding, "Nobody but nobody dares go in that library." "Oh the
library huh. I don't get it with the library. Man you go in get the job
done and get out." Jessy insisted. "Yeah but you don't eat enough to
keep a bird alive." Adam teased. "Hey you been talking to Zac?" Jessy
squealed, turning to glare at Zac, adding, "You sound just like him." "I
might have mentioned it." Zac answered reluctantly, shrugging his
shoulders. "Yeah you probably did. When I'm worried I tend to mention it
to my best friend too." Jessy shared, adding, "I'm sorry to trouble you
so." "Jessy you don't trouble me. I love you so I worry about you is
all." Zac insisted wrapping an arm around her drawing her close, adding,
"Okay?" "Okay? Is it okay you love me. Duh." Jessy teased slipping onto
his lap, kissing him then hugging him tight. "I love you too baby. I
didn't mean to hurt your feelings that way." Adam apologized caressing
Darcy's face then kissing her. "I know you didn't mean anything by it. I
guess all that sugar has made me more edgier than normal." Darcy replied
kissing him back sweetly. "Love." Jessy sighed. "Love." Darcy sighed.
"Oh boy here we go again." Adam sighed. "And again." Zac added. "Be
careful." Darcy and Jessy warned in unison then laughed. "Pinch, poke,
you owe me a coke." Jessy squealed. "Hey I was going to say that." Darcy
teased. "Yeah I know." Jessy sighed cuddling against Zac then yawning,
adding, "Excuse me but I am so tired suddenly." "Suddenly. Babe you have
been to bed yet and today's more than half over. Why don't you go take a
nap." Zac replied. "But we have company." Jessy argued. "I'm insulted.
Did you hear her? She called me..she said... she called me company."
Darcy teased. "I know. I know. She callled me it too." Adam added.
"Forgive her she is sleep depraved." Zac shared. "Oh pooh." Jessy pouted
hiding in Zac's arms, whispering, "I'm tired." "Well someone suggested I
check in with Natalie about the wedding arrangements to keep it real not
boring." Darcy shared. "I'm dying to beat Zac at the new Blade game."
Adam added. "Let me see her to bed and Ill me you in the game room." Zac
replied as they all cleaned up and went their separate ways.
