"Zac." Jessy mumbled as she woke, reaching out for him but finding an empty bed. "Oh Zac." Jessy sighed opening her eyes and finding him asleep in her rocking chair that he pulled near their bed. "You had a little fun." Jessy squealed as she realized she was naked and imagined him removing her clothes without waking her. "Hey babe." Zac moaned waking, rubbing his neck. "I didn't mean to wake you." Jessy whispered, adding, "Let me. I'm so sorry you felt you had to sleep in a chair." "I promised you so I wasn't about to sleep in bed with you." Zac moaned still rubbing his neck. "We have six bedrooms Zac." Jessy said stopping at the closet for her robe before making her way to Zac, massaging his neck. "So." Zac moaned as she rubbed harder. "So you could have slept in one of them. Or you could have put me in one of them and slept in your own bed." Jessy said working her way to his shoulders. "Nah." Zac moaned. "Nah don't rub there or nah to sleeping in another room?" Jessy teased lifting her hands from his shoulders. "Don't stop. It feels so good." Zac said, sighing deeply as she started to massage his shoulders again. "So it's nah to sleeping in another room huh?" Jessy asked watching as he pulled from her grasp, shook his head yes and slumped forward. "Why Zac?" Jessy asked moving around to the front, kneeling, lightly stroking his hand, hoping he would look at her. "I just couldn't leave you." Zac whispered slowly shaking his head no but not looking at her. "We've slept apart before Zac." Jessy whispered still stroking his hand. "That's because you left me." Zac said pulling his hand away. "I what? When did this happen? I must not have been there." Jessy teased even though his words were like a slap in the face and she felt angry. "I thought we had settled all of this. You said you understood." Jessy thought. "You know. Everytime I fall asleep you leave me." Zac mumbled still not looking at her. "Oh. So you're mad at me. I guess I have to figure out why too. You certainly aren't going to tell me what's wrong are you? Nope. Not you. It's so much easier just to pout and let Jessy fix it." Jessy replied her anger growing as she rose, making her way to the bathroom. "Well you know what Jessy don't want to fix it." Jessy grumbled, slamming the door behind her then quickly locking it. "Open the door." Zac called out as he turned the knob finding it locked. "I'm using the bathroom. You know the door is locked because it's occupied." Jessy snapped. "You locked the door because you're mad not because you have to go to the bathroom." Zac argued, adding, "Let me in Jessy." "Your turn. I didn't flush so you'd know I locked the door because I had to go to the bathroom not because I'm mad." Jessy grumbled, opening the door and pushing past him. "Jessy don't be mad." Zac said turning to follow her. "You better use the bathroom or I'll really get pissed. Nobody likes to rush to let someone else have a turn." Jessy grumped turning and glaring at him. "I'm sorry. Just don't be mad okay?" Zac pleaded making his way into the bathroom. "I said I'm sorry. Jessy. Jessy." Zac called out. "So." Jessy finally mumbled wondering why she was suddenly so angry. Was she really angry at Zac or herself. Maybe it was her life and the changes she always had to make lately, Jessy thought as she opened dresser drawers, pulling out something to wear. She noticed him in the mirror, he was standing in the bathroom doorway just staring at her. Jessy wondered what all the questions in his eyes were about. It looked like he was about to say something but suddenly he shook his head no and looked at the floor. She finished laying out her clothes before making her way to the bed, straightening it up. "Excuse me. I think I'll take a shower." Jessy said picking up her clothes and making her way to the bathroom door. Without looking at her or saying a word Zac moved out of the way. Jessy envisioned slamming the bathroom door so hard he'd feel it but chose to leave the door open. "Eat you heart out because you won't touch this." Jessy thought to herself as she turned to make sure he was watching as she slipped out of her robe and stepped into the shower. As she washed her hair she wondered what was happening. Why was he angry. Why was she angry. She wasn't angry at him. "Is he mad at me? What did I do?" Jessy mumbled stepping under the spray to rinse her hair. "You didn't do anything." Zac answered startling her. "Good." Jessy mumbled realizing she'd been so deep in thought she hadn't heard him, adding, "I'm almost done if you waiting to shower." "Zac? Zac?" Jessy called out not receiving an answer as she turned off the water. "Where'd he go?" Jessy wondered as she stepped out, wrapping a towel around herself. "Zac?" she called out making her way to the bedroom, not finding him, again adding, "Where'd he go?" Jessy dressed quickly making her way downstairs to find him. "He's probably making me breakfast to make me happy." Jessy thought as her pace quickened in anticipation. "Zac?" Jessy called out not finding him in the kitchen. "Zac." Jessy called becoming annoyed at not finding him as she made her way from room to room. "Zachary Hanson." Jessy screamed not receiving a reply. Now she was way past annoyed, she was pissed. "Answer me." Jessy screamed making her way through the rest of the house. "Zachary Walker Hanson where are you?" Jessy grumbled not finding him in the house. "Morning sweetie. He's at the house. You fell asleep so you didn't know about the calls that came in about Sir William last night. That horse is one hot number sweetie. Seems like everyone is interested in owning that horse." Walker explained from the front porch, adding, "We decided to get together this morning to talk about it. When he showed up without you, mother sent me to get you. She and the girls are making muffins." "Muffins mmmm." Jessy moaned making her way to the front porch and reaching for his extended hand. "Mother thought you'd say that." Walker said as they made their way to the family. "So who called?" Jessy asked. "You were right about Daddy Big Bucks. You had barely left to lay down in the van and the man had found a way to get my cell number. Sure would like to know how?"Walker shared definitely annoyed at the fact. "Hmmm. Somebody said something about him. Hmmm. It was along the same line Daddy, you know he got information about someone that he shouldn't have been able to get. I mean your number is not listed but yet he can get his hands on it." Jessy explained, adding, "It'll come to me. I'll remember who said it." "Boy now that I think about it, I don't like it. I don't think he'll have enough money to buy Sir William." Walker suggested then chuckled. "Hey if he's got enough money he can buy Sir William. He'll just have to pay the price for getting your telephone number when he shouldn't have." Jessy teased. "You I like." Walker chuckled opening the slider. "What's so funny?" Diana asked turning their way. "I guess it's funny to like me." Jessy teased, adding, "All he said was 'you I like' and then started laughing. Maybe it means he doesn't really like me." "I'm not falling for that." Diana laughed. "We were discussing Daddy Big Bucks and she suggested that if he has enough money he can but Sir William after he pays the price for getting my unlisted telephone number first." Walker shared. "Hope he has enough money because that should cost him." Diana replied noticing Jessy looking for something, adding, "I sent him to get Daddy." "Who?" Jessy asked turning red faced becuase she knew. "You know who. He said to tell you he wasn't mad." Diana answered watching for her reaction. "Oh. Thanks." Jessy mumbled not looking at her, hoping she couldn't tell what she was feeling. "Mommy their done." Avie squealed as the time rang. "They smell done." Jessy said making her way to the girls still avoiding Diana's look. "Ouch." Avie squealed pulling her hand back quickly. "Let me see." Jessy said lifting Avie's arm to inspect the damage, adding, "I do that all the time too. I keep telling myself to take the top rack out so it doesn't happen but do I listen to me." "Let me see dear." Diana said making it to her, adding as she shared her burn scar, "At least you have faster reactions. See mine." "Mine is on my finger but since your brother proposed.." Jessy said extending her left hand before pulling down her engagement ring, adding, "See it covers it just perfectly." "Oh so that's why you're marrying my brother." Jessie teased. "Oh no she's marrying Zac so she can get some." Natalie shared without thinking, quickly gasping, "What am I saying?" "I don't know. What are you saying?" Diana asked quickly turning her way and glaring at her to see if she could read her face, adding, "You know something I don't. What is it?" "What? You know me before I have my morning coffee. I can't be held accountable for what comes out of my mouth." Natalie quickly answered avoiding her eyes. "You are not looking at me Natalie. Why?" Diana asked. "What? I am too." Natalie replied looking at her briefly before looking away again. "Natalie dear I thought we had an understanding." Diana reminded crossing her arms and tapping her foot.. "We do?" Natalie teased hoping she would drop it. "Well maybe you will tell me?" Diana asked turning and glaring at Jessy. "Me? Why me? I can't be held accountable for what comes out of her mouth before she has her morning coffee either. You should have heard the potty word she said the other morning. Talk about a sailor's dirty mouth." Jessy shared hoping to get her to drop it, adding, "I really didn't know Taylor was one of those." "One of what?" Diana asked. "I think she was upset with him Mom. She really didn't have anything nice to say about Taylor that morning." Jessy answered, adding, "I wonder if it was something he had done while they were sleeping. You know when they went to bed they were all lovey-dovey but not the next morning." "Those two. So hot then cold. I don't think I'll ever understand it." Diana sighed. "Like Zac this morning. Why is he so mad at me?" Jessy wondered. "What's wrong sweetie? I saw it earlier but didn't push it." Diana whispered making her way to Jessy, gazing at the pain in her eyes. "Oh Mom." Jessy sighed fighting the tears, adding, "He is so mad at me and I don't know why. He says I didn't do anything but that's not how he made me feel. He was so angry." "I could tell something wasn't quite right. He was so worried how you'd react to his not being here. Even when your father said he go get you to explain, he still argued about going." Diana replied taking her hand and patting it, adding, "He seemed more hurt than angry." "Hurt? Like his feelings?" Jessy questioned, adding, "It felt more like he was angry." "Do you think he's going to show you he's hurt? Jessy get real. Even your father will grumble it's something else before he will admit I hurt his feelings. One time he insisted he was sick, hiding in the bathroom for at least a half hour so he wouldn't have to face me. He knew I could tell he wasn't sick if I saw him." "Daddy? My Daddy? Are you sure?" Jessy teased as they both began laughing. "Hey what about me?" Avie asked holding her hand under the running cold water. "Oh my I forgot. Let me see again?" Diana shrieked feeling guilty that it was true. "Me too sis, sorry." Jessy admitted, adding, "Doesn't look too bad. I don't think you'll be joining your mother and I off of this one. I'm sure it will happen again though. That is unless you turn out smarter than your mother and I." "I hope so. You two are crazy." Jessie teased. "Amen to that." Grampa Lawyer teased, announcing his arrival. "My Grampa." Jessy squealed racing his way but her eyes on Zac. "Morning sweetie. Did you sleep good? You were so tired." Grampa Lawyer asked gazing at her before hugging her. "I must have been dead to the world. I don't remember the ride home or Zac getting me into bed." Jessy answered. "So you feel rested now?" Grampa Lawyer asked. "I feel great." Jessy said hugging him back glancing at Zac with so many questions in her eyes. "I love you." Zac mouthed reaching out and caressing her face. "You know I called Bud and Julie this morning, asking them to join us. I'm not happy with that Mr., Mr. What was his name again? You know the man who called last night during dinner. I called Bud and Julie to see if they'd given him your number. They are outraged over his call. I sure would like to know who gave out your number." Grampa Lawyer shared dragging Jessy along as he made his way to the kitchen. "I feel the same way Dad. I can't wait to find out how he got my number. He won't be buying Sir William until he tells me how." Walker declared. "Daddy care for a muffin? The girls made them and Avie has the battle scar to prove it.' Diana asked. "My poor baby. Let Grampa see." Grampa Lawyer said finally letting go of Jessy, making his way to Avie. "He went upstairs sweetie." Walker shared as Jessy spun around to find Zac. "Oh." Jessy sighed turning back around then helping set the table to keep herself occupied. "I'll get it." Isaac said making his way to answer the gate buzzer. "Morning Hansons." Mr Walters said. "Morning to you. Come on in. Grampa said he invited you to the Sir William Pow Wow." Isaac replied opening the gates, then heading to the front door to greet them. "Bud, Julie. Thank you for coming. Well good morning Mark." Grampa Lawyer said making his way to them. "Good morning everyone. Walker did you find out how he got your number yet?" Bud replied. "Not yet but I've decided I will know or he won't have a chance at Sir William." Walker answered welcoming them into his home. "Everyone sit. The girls have baked muffins and I have a breakfast casserole in the oven which should be done any minute now." Diana greeted. "Bud, Julie you can sit here." Walker suggested, adding, "Why don't you sit by Jessy young man." "Morning Jessy. You get some sleep?" Mark said taking the seat next to her. "That's Zac's place." Jessy informed. "Well I don't see him so it's my seat for now." Mark said sitting down. "She said that's my seat." Zac said making his way downstairs. "Just getting up and around I see." Mark teased noticing his wet hair. "Nah. Been up for hours but just now got around to showering. You don't have to move though, Zac and I can sit at the breakfast bar." Jessy said rising, grabbing a plate, a couple of muffins, two glasses and heading towards Zac. "Here I'll take these and fill them, you go get us a seat." Zac said taking the glasses. "Sure." Jessy said pecking his cheek before heading to the breakfast nook, moving two of the stools closer together. They discussed Sir William while they ate. As the younger ones finished they excused themselves to go play. "Join us over here. There are enough seats now." Walker insisted. "If we gotta." Jessy pouted taking care of their dishes as Zac refilled the glasses. "Milk again?" Jessy complained eyeing his glass of juice as she took the seat next to him. "Yes and drink it." Zac answered. "Meany." Jessy pouted layng her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes. "I think we should sell him to the Olympic Committee. That will give other riders a chance at riding him." Diana shared. "I don't think they'll be able to offer as much for him though." Walker shared. "I agree with Diana. What do you say Jessy?" Julie asked. "Me? It's not up to me. It's up to Zac." Jessy answered. "I bought him for you not to sell." Zac argued. "You bought him because I said you could double your money and Daddy didn't believe me. You bought him to show me that you believed in me Zac. Admit it." Jessy insisted. "So. He is still yours." Zac argued. "Then if he's mine, he is to be sold. I won't have time for him and he is too magnificent an animal to sit waiting for some spoiled little girl to show him attention." Jessy declared slapping the table. "I think she has spoken." Grampa Lawyer chuckled. "So who does he go to?" Walker asked. "Use him to get an answer to your unlisted number, then I would like to see the Committee own him if at all possible." Jessy answered laying her head back on Zac's shoulder. 1
