Everything seemed fine, there was laughter, music and introductions and more introductions, "I think my hand is gone, I don't feel it. Nope it's there still." Jessy complained slapping her hand then spinning it around like a dead appendage. "The hand is small stuff, look how chapped my cheek is. It's been kissed so many times. Isn't there a limit on family? I really think they've exceeded the limit." Chele complained. "Do you really believe they are all family, I bet half of them just hopped a bus from the nearest shelter, waltz in saying I'm cousin so and so." Jessy teased, adding, "No, here come more." "Babe, these are my cousins, I won't bother with the names, guys this is Jessy. Babe Mom said to put a jacket on you." Zac said trying to slip her arms in one of his windbreakers. "Hun. Oh never mind you won't listen anyway." Jessy pouted turning to see Chele sneaking away. "Jessy of course I'll listen but Mom said to put it on you anyway." Zac replied hugging her tight as Jessy gasped and started coughing and coughing. "Jessy? What's wrong?" Zac asked as Jessy bent over still coughing. "Mom." Zac screamed. "Baby what's wrong? Try to relax." Diana asked. "I hugged her tight, she gasped and started coughing." Zac explained. "Jessy you have to stand up straight and give your lungs room and try to relax baby. Come on up, hang on to Zac. That's my girl." Diana said rubbing her back as the coughing eased. "I'm sorry it was nice meeting you but I need to go inside now." Jessy said waving at the cousins and heading to the house as Zac whisked her up in his arms. "Zac I can walk. Put me down." Jessy insisted. "Babe let me." Zac pleaded. "Put me.." Jessy said stopping to cough and Zac immediately put her down and rubbed her back. "Babe relax. Jessy I'm sorry try and relax." Zac asked. "Stop apologizing for everything." Jessy insisted. "But it's all my fault, I promised that no one would hurt you and he almost drowned you. I almost lost you." Zac admitted falling to his knees, clinging to her. "Zac I don't blame you hun. Please don't think that. Zac I need to go to the bathroom please." Jessy pleaded and Zac rose, taking her hand in his and headed to the bathroom finding a line and the same on the first floor and headed to the third floor finding a line so he headed into his folks room. "No line here." Zac said leading her to the bathroom door. Jessy went to the bathroom, washed her face and hands before returning to find Zac sitting on the foot of the bed, his head in his hands. "Zac don't do this. You know I never told you how proud I was of you. Zac you just blew me away, touching me without having to have me. Covering me from everyone else. I love you so much for that, I didn't think it was possible but you did it for me Zac." Jessy exclaimed kissing him deeply then walking over and locking the door, returning to stand in front of Zac, slowly removing his jacket, her tank top, "I love you Zac Hanson." Jessy declared. "I know Jessy and I love you too." Zac replied pulling her to him. "I know but I didn't know how much until earlier when I couldn't take care of myself and you protected me just like you had promised me, covering me from everyone else's view, touching me but not having to have me. I am so proud of you and how you love me." Jessy said pushing him down on the bed and kissing him deeply. "I wanted you so bad Jessy but I knew you needed me to take care of you and I love you that much that I touched you and just took care of you." Zac explained. "I know you were so good to me. That's why I'm going to be good to you." Jessy said reaching behind her back, unfastening her bra and letting it drop onto Zac. "You don't have to take care of me now, I can." Jessy said as Zac's eyes took in the sight. "You're so beautiful, I was going to tell you that earlier but I was afraid you thought I, I, you know that I had wanted you." Zac shared. "Did you? Want me earlier because when we talked about I thought we decided you needed to learn to touch me without showing how my you wanted and needed me. I think you did that very well. Don't you?" Jessy finally asked. "Yeah I did that, I looked at you and touched you withouth showing that I wanted and needed you more than anything." Zac said as he finally placed his hand on Jessy's breast, lightly squeezing, "It's so soft Jessy. So, so soft. It feels so good." Zac said as he placed his other hand on her other breast and lightly squeezed, enjoying the look and feel of Jessy. Enjoying it so, Jessy felt him growing beneath her and he moaned her name as he slowly reached up and placed his lips to her breast, moaning her name again as he rolled them over, pinning Jessy to the bed. "I want you so bad. My whole body aches for you. Every inch of me Jessy." Zac confessed. "I know hun, I feel you wanting me." Jessy shared their eyes locked on each other, searching deeper and deeper. "I need you Jessy, you're everything to me. Early when you looked.. when you.." Zac stopped as the sobs began. "Zac I'm here and I'm okay, baby don't cry, I'm here and I love you." Jessy said holding him to her breast as he cried. "I almost lost you. I couldn't go on without you Jessy, you're my life now." Zac confessed hugging her tighter causing Jessy to cough. "Relax babe. Jessy I'm sorry relax, breathe slow." Zac said as Jessy coughed over and over. "Towel" Jessy choked out and Zac raced bringing her a towel. Jessy pulled it to her mouth as she started spitting up more water. As the coughing eased, "Hug me tight again, let's get this over." Jessy asked. "No Jessy, I'm sorry I knew better." Zac replied. "Zac help me do this please?" Jessy pleaded and the two worked together until Jessy was too exhausted to cough anymore. Zac helped her into her tank and ran and got her a pair of her boxers to sleep in and carried her to the bed in Zoe's room, laying with her until she was sound asleep. He cleaned up her dirty clothes then headed out to his family, "There you are, we're almost ready to eat. Where's Jessy son?" Diana asked. "Zac?" she asked moving his way. "Son where's Jessy?" Diana asked again. "She's asleep in Zoe's room. She made me make her cough Mom. Over and over. She was still coughing up water but she just was too tired to cough anymore." Zac explained. "That's good son it has to come out. Son she isn't sleeping on her back is she?" Diana asked. "Not when I left she was on her side but I was holding her." Zac answered. "Why don't you go grab your pillows and tuck them behind her so she can't roll onto her back." Diana suggested and Zac headed back up with Chele in tow. Together they tucked her in so she couldn't roll onto her back and took turns checking in on her. "Me Essy, me Essy, me Essy seep." Zoe squealed. "Sssh baby so Jessy can sleep." Diana whispered. "Me seep Essy." Zoe squealed. "Ssshh." Diana whispered. "Yeah Ssshh. Come on baby sis you can sleep with me. Hey who tucked me in tight?" Jessy asked wiggling about. "Zac and Chele so you wouldn't roll on your back." Diana explained as Jessy turned and pulled out Zac's pillows. "Here slide her in Mom." Jessy said moving against the wall. "Night my girls." Diana said kissing them both goodnight. "Night Mommy. " they shared. "Night my Zoe." Jessy said kissing her. "Me Essy seep." Zoe said as Diana shut the door. Sleep they did, soundly through the whole night, through all the watchful eyes checking on them. Jessy woke bright and early, starved. She carefully made her way from the bed without waking Zoe and made her way downstairs. Raiding the fridge grabbing orange juice and fresh fruit, peeling, cutting, chopping, finally toasting a bagel, spreading on some cream cheese and heading to the deck to eat in the fresh air, staring out to the sport where she almost drowned. Jessy's entire body shuddered and she was suddenly chilled to the bone, quickly retreating to the house, sitting at the end of the table in the sunshine with her back to the lake. As soon as she finished she headed to a hot shower to warm herself. Still shivering she headed to the laundry room and warmed a pair of sweats to heat herself but nothing. "You're a psycho now. Looney. A fruit cake." Jessy mumbled to herself. "Chicken. You almost die and you act like a lunatic. There is nothing wrong with you. You are not cold. Get dressed and get to work." Jessy told herself and out of the sweats and into a dress for church and she made her way to Daddy's office and went online and pulled all the background information she would need to start tracking, printing as she went. As soon as she consumed herself in the chase, the shivers stopped, she was freed. "Hey you're up. Remember that big mouth in the ChatRoom trying to act like her collection was bigger than mine?" Jessy asked, adding, "Hey hun. Mom, Daddy, my Zoe." Jessy made her way around the table kissing cheeks, stop at Zoe. "So what was it like waking up in the big girl bed?" Jessy asked. "No Essy." Zoe said. "No Jessy got up real early, really hungry so I came down here. How'd you do solo in the big girl bed huh? Did it hurt?" Jessy asked. "No" Zoe giggled. "Doesn't look like it did. One foot, two foot, one hand, two hand. Was it scary?" Jessy asked. "No me no." Zoe giggled. "Hmm not scared, not hurt. Why don't you like the big girl bed?" Jessy asked. "Me do." Zoe said. "Oh you like the big girl bed. Why don't you sleep in the big girl bed?" Jessy asked and Zoe just stared unable to answer. "You know how I call you baby sis all the time and so does everyone else, you think maybe you sty in the baby bed so we don't know you're not a baby anymore?" Jessy asked. "Uh huh." Zoe said. "So you're really not a baby anymore?" Jessy asked. "No me big girl." Zoe said. "How about I call you lil sis, like I do Avie and Jessie?" Jessy asked. "Please." Zoe said. "Hey lil sis, what's with the diapers then?" Jessy asked. "Big girl panties?" Zoe asked. "Yeah I think it's time. Some of them are really cute, silky and some have pictures." Jessy said. "Tell her Zoe. Tell her you have them already." Diana added. "Oh, you already talked this over with Mom, good that's where I was headed next. So then you know what this is all about, cool. You ready to try?" Jessy asked. "Uh huh, okay Mommy?" Zoe asked. "Of course ba.. I guess Mommy is guilty, what will I call you, how about princess. There my ballerina, my tinkerbelle and now my princess. I did love it princess, you want to go get some big girl panties on now?" Diana asked. "Uh huh!" Zoe said. "I'll work on breakfast, what we're you doing Mom." Jessy offered and a quick wash of hands, Chele and Heather joined her making breakfast. "Now about that big mouth?" Jessy asked, quickly adding, "Not me the other one I was fighting with Sis. I need music where's a radio?" Jessy asked and soon they we're dancing and singing their way through preparing breakfast. "Country music in the house, I like." Walker said coming down the stairs. "Morning Daddy." they called out in unison. "Grown daughters, this I like too." he said making his way to the coffee pot kissing cheeks. "Don't burn that sausage girl." he teased. "Oh Daddy we're talented, we can sing, dance and cook, in more than one way." Chele teased as they sang along while finishing breakfast, "Mommy we're almost done, anybody else up? Lil sis you look so pretty." Jessy said as Diana turned and headed back up the stairs. "Daddy's down here now, why don't you tell him you're a big girl now." Jessy suggested and Zoe squealed all the way to his arms, showing him the big girl panties and telling him all about the big girl bed and being Mommy's princess. "Hmm Princess, that's nice, you are Princess Zoe. I like." Walker said hugging her as the rest of the family appeared and soon breakfast was a memory and everyone but Jessy and Zoe were busy dressing for church. "Zoe will you help me cleanup?" Jessy asked as everyone stared. "I can to." Zoe declared. "What's with them? They think you're a baby. Go figure." Jessy said. "Yeah go figger." Zoe declared carrying a plate to Jessy. "Good you got a plan, you do the footwork and bring them here, I'll scrap and load. Let's get busy girl." Jessy said and the two worked together clearing the table, wiping it down and Zoe pushed in chairs as Jessy cleaned the stove top. They came down the stairs to Jessy and Zoe singing and dancing, "What a difference she makes in all our lives. I like." Walker shared. "She's so precious and loving." Diana replied. "Glad you think so, I'm going to marry her some day." Zac declared joining them watching Jessy and Zoe dance. Soon the whole family was watching as Chele joined them and the two got down and boogied to the next fast number, matching footwork and moves like they were one and as they finished the family applauded turning both faces red. "Pottie break for me. Princess Zoe?" Jessy asked and the two headed down the hall before heading to the van. At church before they headed in, Chele declared pottie time, taking Zoe along and after services, Heather needed to go and took Zoe along before loading up and heading home. Everyone helped getting lunch ready after changing out of their Sunday clothes and soon they were out to the picnic tables to eat. "Babe you going to put a suit on?" Zac asked walking up behind her wrapping his arms around her. "Later Zac. I'm going to finish helping Mom." Jessy said heading back to the house. "Sweetie I told you I can finish this, go swim and play with the rest of them." Diana shared. "Mom I can't. I'm terrified. This morning I freaked sitting on the deck eating breakfast, looking out at the lake and I froze, chilled to the bone, could hardly breathe. I tried everything the only thing that helped was working in Daddy's office putting all my attention on tracking down the leaches." Jessy shared. "Baby why didn't you come get us." Diana said taking her in her arms. "Jessy you should have come to us. We're here for you. If you don't trust Walker and I, why didn't you go to Zac?" Diana asked. "I didn't want you to get mad, finding me in his bed and it made me feel like such a baby, needing my Mommy and Daddy." Jessy explained, adding, "Be honest 5 am and a 16 year old needs to crawl in bed with you and Daddy, something definitely wrong with this picture and you would have freaked finding me in Zac's bed." "Oh Jessy you're probably right baby, but we would have understood. I just feel so bad you felt you had to go through that alone. Promise me from now on you come to one of us. I mean with Ike and Tay in the room, after I finished screaming I would have realized you weren't doing anything." Diana teased. "Yeah after all that screaming that woke everybody else who would scream at the sight of me in Zac's bed. Uh no thank you." Jessy teased back. "Could prove a little embarassing to say the least." Diana agreed. "I mean I already have trouble dealing with the lake, I can see it terrified to get in the same bed with Zac for life. No way. One abnormal obsession at a time if you don't mind." Jessy said as the two laughed. "So what can I do to help?" Diana asked. "You already have, I'm hiding from Zac to help you. I guess I ought to tell Zac huh?" Jessy asked. "You don't need me to tell you what you already know." Diana said loading up a tray for outside and sending Jessy on her way. "Hey babe want to play volleyball." Zac asked. "Sure we got time for a short one. Daddy's almost done and Mom's ready now." Jessy answered and the six started a boy, girl game. "Come on Jessy. Smoke them." Chele cheered as Jessy served. "Way to go." Heather cheered as they took the point. "One more sis." Chele cheered and Jessy ran the score up to 12 to 2 before the took pity on the guys and Chele put her shirt back on. "Winners get to drown the losers in the lake." Taylor said to motivate the guys. "Just think of it Isaac, Heather at your mercy." Zac said as Taylor served right a Jessy who stood still. "Jesus Jessy you could have... Jessy, Jessy." Chele yelled rushing to her. "Sis what's wrong. Jessy talk to me." Chele said patting her hand. "Babe what's wrong? Jessy. Man she's cold again." Zac said picking her up and heading to the house. "What's wrong with Jessy?" Walker asked from the deck, adding, "Mother something is wrong with Jessy." She met them in the basement where Zac already had her wrapped in a blanket. "Jessy stop this. Jessy do you hear me. Stop it now. You're stronger than this, come back now. Now young lady." Diana ordered. "Don't yell at her." Zac argued. "Don't you baby her. Jessy right now. Now or you can't see Zac for a day." Diana threatened. "No." Jessy yelled at her. "That's my girl. I take it you didn't tell Zac you were terrified of the lake. How'd this happen?" Diana asked. "We were playing volleyball is all." Zac answered. "Taylor Hanson this is your fault. You know your smart ass winners declaration." Chele said swatting him. "What?" Taylor asked and Chele whispered to him. "God you don't have to whisper, I'm not a total lunatic. I just freaked when I heard I'd drown if I lost is all. Excuse me, I'm not into drowning right now." Jessy said tears running down her face. "Jessy I'm sorry, I didn't think. You're not a lunatic. God you almost did drown, who wouldn't be unnerved. I'd be freaking too." Taylor said kneeling by her taking her hand, "I'm sorry. I just didn't think about it sis." he apologized. "It's not your fault, I found out this morning that I was a freaky about the lake and didn't tell you guys. I should have trusted you and told you then this wouldn't have happened. Is Daddy done, I'm hungry." Jessy shared. "Let's find out." Chele said and they all headed out. "So you didn't tell me huh?" Zac asked as Jessy cuddled into his arms and told him everything. "You promise from now on you wake me up, I don't care what anybody else thinks." Zac ordered. "I promise Zac. Now can I eat." Jessy teased. When they got to the table they had saved Zac and Jessy seats with her back to the lake and after lunch they loaded up to visit Grampa Lawyer and took him out for ice cream. They stopped at a park in the old neighborhood where for a change, the guys were treated like normal people, like at the restaurant. They had such fun that they they stayed they entire afternoon and ended up going to a Rex's nearby for dinner before dropping off Grampa and heading home.
