Part Five

The bus ride was just what Jessy needed to clear her head. As the bus pulled into the terminal she searched for her cousins, "Hey Chris. Where's Delaine?" Jessy asked. "Man kiddo, you look great. She's on duty, got the job at the Hospital she was telling you about. Let's grab your bags and I'll show you Austin." Chris said and the loaded up and headed out and they had a blast. "You've always been so easy to talk to." Jessy said after discussiing her problem. "Jessy you know you have to go back. Why don't you call him and let him know you're okay and we'll see about getting you back there, you've worked to hard to throw it away now." Chris said handing her a cell phone. "Yeah you're right. If he only understands like you do." Jessy mumbled as Chris headed to the hospital to pick up Delaine. "Mr H it's Jessy." she responded when Walker answered the phone. "Jessy are you all right. The boards said you went home but we spoke with your Mom and she had no idea. That's when Zac took me aside, sweetie he's really sorry." Walker shared. "He told me so but I was just so hurt. Then on the ride down here I thought about and Zac had every reason to make love to me, saving face with his buddies and all, but he didn't. It hit me that he said no because it wasn't right and I run all hurt like because he respected me enough not to. He chanced being ridiculed by his friends. Wow." Jessy said, adding, "Can I talk to him?" "Sure you can, he's right here sweetie. Jessy, please come back for the rest of us too, we miss you." Walker asked. "Thanks for saying so. I'm finding a way back there as soon as I've talked to Zac. I'm in Austin with my cousins and we're going to dinner and I'm hoping I can find a plane, train or bus back to you guys yet tonight. Sort of an expensive, time alone to think." Jessy shared. "I'm glad you're coming back sweetie. Here's Zac." Walker said turning the phone over. "Jessy? I'm so sorry. Please forgive me?" Zac asked. "If you can forgive me for running, I can forgive you for caring enough about to say no, even when you bragged you did it." Jessy answered. "Jessy I told them I lied. I told them the truth that we love each other enough to wait until it's right. When we're married, you're going to marry me right?" Zac asked. "If that's the only way I can get you to make love to me, I guess I'll have to." Jessy teased. "Jessy I'm serious." Zac insisted. "I know Zac, trying not to cry here and you're not helping is all. Zac of course I'll marry you. On the ride down here I figured out you are my destiny, you know what I'm suppose do and be in my life. I figure or all the things that are happening to me, You are what's meant to be. The rest of it is just ways to help me end up with you." Jessy explained. "Hang on babe, Dad's muttering something about you. Jessy Dad has you booked on a flight back here in two hours. Jessy are you going to come back to me?" Zac asked. "Tell Dad thanks, I owe him for bringing me back where I belong. Zac?" Jessy asked. "Yeah Jessy?" Zac replied. "Zac can you call the Festival office and put me back in the Modern competition, I'm not about to let Tina off that easy." Jessy chuckled. "You better not. Sure I'll call them for you." Zac answered. "Zac here comes my cousins and we're going to dinner and the airport. Zac I love you and I'm sorry. Babe did you compete?" Jessy asked. "Dad made me." Zac answered. "Good you better have won." Jessy insisted. "I eliminated the only compeition babe when I sent you running being a jerk." Zac shared. "Oh that's what you call that huh? Zac I didn't care for your jerk personality, sure hope it doesn't visit too often." Jessy teased. "I'll do my best to keep it at a minimum babe." Zac answered, adding, "I'll call your sisters and your Mom and meet you at the airport." Zac insisted and Jessy was off to dinner with Chris and Delaine catching up on everything, sharing the MayFest results before the headed to the airport checking in and picking up Jessy's ticket, checking in before heading to the waiting area listening for her boarding call. Jessy was on her way back to Tulsa on her way back to Zac and would be there in a couple of hours. She leaned back, closed her eyes and dreamed of things to come, "Miss were in Tulsa." the stewardess said waking Jessy. "What? Thank you for waking me." she replied wiping the sleep from her eyes as she realized she would be seeing Zac and her heart raced faster and faster with every step as she made it to the waiting area. As she cleared the end of the hall and looked out over the room, "Jessy" Zac called out. "Zac" Jessy squealed on a dead run to his arms, hugging him tight, "I'm sorry." they said almost in unison gazing into each other's eyes. "Jessy forgive me." Zac pleaded. "I do Zac. I can even understand why, but it doesn't make it right." Jessy said caressing his face, adding, "but I couldn't stop loving you over it. Zac I'm no good without you in my life. The further I got away from you the more I knew that I belong with you. I'm a so much better me, when I'm with you. Zac I'm sorry I ran from you, it hurt the thought you'd tell Mike and Joe that we'd made love. That you were ashamed of the Zac I loved, the one who loved me enough to say no so many times when I offered, pleaded, begged you to make love to me. Zac thank you for loving me that much. My running sort of opened my eyes to how I've been behaving. I can't lie and say I'm glad you didn't make love to me, Zac I still want you so bad but I agree, there is a right time for it to happen, and happen it will, someday." Jessy said caressing and touching him her eyes never leaving his. "Jessy I told them I lied. I called Mike and Joe and told that I lied, that I loved you too much to take that step now that someday we'd be married and on our wedding night we'd finally give ourselves to each other and not before it was right. Mike told Beth and Chrissi so I called them. Chrissi had told her Mom, so I called her and told the truth, that I'd lied. I told them that I loved and respected you too much to not wait until we're married. Joe told Ash, man did he read me the riot act, more than Dad but not as much as Faith." Zac shared. "Thank God it's still there." Jessy teased caressing his butt. "Jessy. She just chewed me up and spit me out. It's a good thing I numbered all the parts so I knew where they went." Zac teased. "Did a good job. No glue gobs, lined up neatly. I can't wait to get you alone and naked so I can see your handi-work." Jessy teased, adding more seriously, "Zac we can still, you know come close as long as we don't go all the way right?" "Jessy I don't know. I messed it up pretty good the first time, I don't know that we should trust what I think." Zac answered. "Zac Hanson how can you say that." Jessy said in shock at his suggestion, adding, "I trust you. Why wouldn't I trust and look up to you, Zac you called them all, anyone who heard what you shared with Mike and Joe. Such an honorable thing to do Zac. Just the thought of you confessing to them all that you loved me enough to say no, and admit you'd lied. I'm so proud of you." "I love you too much to let them think any less of you." Zac admitted, adding, "Babe we'd better get your luggage and get you home to bed, you dance at 10:30." Zac said taking her hand, claiming her luggage and making their way home where everyone waited her arrival. "Thanks for the ticket home. I needed that." Jessy teased hugging Walker, adding, "Thanks Daddy." "You're welcome. Anything to get you home where you belong." Walker said. "Baby I'm so glad you're back. I pray you two make it through this." Diana said hugging her tight. "Umm can the three of us talk, I have something I need to tell you." Jessy said nervously. "Sure sweetie. How about my office." Walker said walking them both to his office, closing the door after them. "Try not to judge me okay but I want you to know all of it and I don't think Zac shared because he loves me." Jessy started as her eyes filled and she told them everything, how close they had come so many times, "I just wanted you to know what a good job you'd done raising Zac is all. When I decided to tell you I was so ashamed of myself, but I'm not, I guess I'll probably do the same thing again next month, and the following, regularly like clock work. I love Zac but I accept that someday it will be right and then, boy I hope doesn't get into a rut of saying no." Jessy wondered. "I'll be glad to talk to him for you sweetie." Walker teased. "Good idea dear, you take him aside at the wedding reception and let him know that he doesn't have to say no anymore." Diana added and the three laughed. "Jessy thanks for including us. You didn't have to, just thanks sweetie." Walker said hugging her. "Don't listen to him, of course you should tell us everything." Diana teased wrapping an arm around her, adding, "To bed young lady, you dance in nine hours." Dance she did, the whole family was there in force, "Jessy, pssst, Jessy." she heard as she waited for her name to be called. She looked around, "Hey guys." Jessy answered making her way to the front when she saw Joe, Mike, Beth and Chrissi. "We just had to let you know how thrille we are for you. Wow he must love you a lot, he even talked to my Mom." Chrissi said. "Knock 'em dead kiddo. Show the world how good you are, especially Tina." Beth shared. "Zac has no idea how hard he's made my life, Ash is all over me, 'Be like Zac' this and that." Joe shared. "Hey you just tell him, at least Zac showed you how to own up to being a man, big brother." Jessy suggested. "Oh you're good woman. That ought to shut him up but good." Joe replied as the called her name. "I'm on next." Jessy said as the wished her good luck. "Jessy come on babe." Zac called, adding, "Hey guys. The called you babe." "I heard was just telling them goodbye, now it's your turn. Go. I'll see you after." Jessy said kissing him deeply. "Love you babe." "Yeah aren't I lucky." Jessy said dreamily heading for the stage stopping to remove her robe. "Dang." Joe said looking at her costume. "Hot isn't she." Zac asked as he turned for one last look as Jessy instinctively turned to see him and she smiled and waved before she reported in. "Ladies and Gentlemen our next competitor, number11, Jessy dancing to Hanson once again, from the Road To Albertane album,'Give Me Some Luvin' and Shake A Tailfeather'" the anouncement shared as Jessy took her place and danced her heart out. As she bowed she noticed the first of the perfect scores, thrilling the audience even more. The volume soared as the other perfect scores were held high and as the last one was placed in the air, she bowed deeply, then waved at the crowds, blowing a kiss to Zac before leaving the stage only to see Tina fuming, then storm off when she noticed her. Jessy was heading towards Zac and the family when she was mobbed and quickly returned to backstage. "Well my little Star, don't be blaming me for the mobs." Zac teased, adding, "You were great babe." "thanks hun. I'm sort of hungry and wouldn't mind napping before we sing." Jessy suggested and Zac led her to the van and while she changed he headed out, only to return with lunch for the two of them. "I told them where to find us.Sis said she'd wake us up an hour before so you have time to change." Zac explained as they ate then laid down together and napped. When Jessy woke a little over an hour later, finding in herself in Zac's arms, she giggled that she had thought she was dreaming. "What's so funny." Zac mumbled as he woke. "I thought I was dreaming but I'm not, you're here, holding me." Jessy whispered then kissed him, adding, "My dream came true." "Mine too." Zac said kissing her deeply, setting their passion for each other free. "Jessy I'm not that strong right now where you're concerned."Zac said breathlessly. "Then I'll have to be strong right now." Jessy said caressing his face, adding, "Zac I wasn't fair making you always be the one with their head on straight." "Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it babe but right now, I, I, Jessy just be careful, I kept telling myself if I had loved you, you would have felt more committed to me and wouldn't have left me is all. I think I believe me." Zac shared watching for her reaction. "You think, making love will make us more committed than we are over the fact you didn't when we wanted to huh?" Jessy asked, adding, "Zac you know it would have been wrong, yeah I love you and you love me, but are we really ready to handle the insecurities, like he made love to me how could he be talking to Tina and not me, or she's mine, we made love, she gave herself to me how can she be enjoying herself without me?" "You didn't feel that when I was talking to Tina did you? She's in a bad way Jessy, I was.." Zac tried to explain. "See what I mean, I've made you feel defensive about being a nice person Zac. I know she's hurting, like most of your fans will be as word about us gets out. But Zac a little part of me was jealous and I know you love me, just think how much worse it would have been. I don't want to feel guilty about the fact that we've made love. You were always right, no it's not the right time. I love you for that Zac." Jessy said kissing him deeply. "We okay aren't we?" Zac asked. "Uh huh, I think we're better than okay." Jessy said kissing him longer and harder as the door opened. "Don't have to wake you up." Chele giggled. "Nope I'm raring to go, We're going to rock this place and you three right along with them. Make sure you hang on to something hun, don't want to blow you away." Jessy teased crawling into Zac's lap making room for the others. "Don't worry babe, you already did that. I have a feeling you girls are awesome. We talked about it, if we can handle you guys being bigger than us." Zac answered. "You did. You talked about us in the same sentence with Hanson?" Chele asked staring at Taylor in shock. "Of course baby. You guys rocked Country and we sort of figured as much as Lil Sis loves our music, well it's a given that you'll give us a run for the fans." Taylor shared. "Yeah like we can compete with you." Faith chuckled. "That was you that got one point less than me yesterday wasn't it?" Isaac reminded. "Yeah and this one tied me. Chele, baby I've been playing forever, I mean since four or five and you took lessons for six months and have been playing two years now. Baby you're a natural." Taylor said wrapping his arms around her pulling her closer. "I watched you for a couple of years before I decided to do what you do." Chele admitted. "That explains it." Taylor teased, rolling his eyes. "That's how I learned." Jessy spoke up, adding, "And he's left handed." They kidded up until the girls had to get ready, "Zac go check with the stage manager and see that my drums are set up like this." Jessy asked sketching it out. "Great, she draws well too." Zac said. "TayBear can you see that the set me up like this?" Chele asked making eyes at him. "Huh? Sure whatever baby." Taylor answered. "So what can I do for you love?" Isaac asked. "Babe it would help if you'd take my guitars over." Faith asked. "Oh Zac, could you take my bass with you." Jessy asked. "Tay could you take my guitar with you too?" Chele asked as the girls pulled out their guitars and handed them over. "I don't want to know. She did say they'd rock us too." Isaac mumbled as the three made their way to the stage. The girls dressed, "Man I can't wait until we are a Star and get a real dressing room." Jessy complained wiggling into her leather pants, adding, "Wish Zac was here, he'd help me." "From what Tay told me, he would." Chele said, adding, "Now Tay would help me into my clothes only if he'd taken them off me." "We know this for fact or we are just hypothetically speaking." Jessy asked. "Sis there's no way Tay and I have done half the things you and Zac have. You two aren't normal." Chele answered. "Isaac about died when Zac told him what you two have been up to. Jessy what were you thinking?" Faith asked. "That I love Zac and he loves me. I wasn't thinking, I admit it and I know how lucky I am that Zac loves me enough to do what's right in spite of me. You know I told his folks the whole story last night. I was so sure Zac had protected me, not letting them know it was me after him the way I was. By the time I had finished, I realized just how much he does love me and I'm bawling about it. His Mom goes, Walker she's just like me and I'm so glad you loved me and she starts bawling and he's trying to hug us both and wipe our tears, we bumped heads and broke out laughing. Then they go and make a Jessy sandwich both hugging hard and we sort of worked things out." Jessy shared, finishing, "I have to tell Momma the whole truth or Mom is going to. Bummer huh." "Whoa. She's going to flip." Chele said, adding, "Man are we in trouble. We were suppose to keep and eye on you." "I was so busy keeping an eye on Ike, I had no idea you two had been, well, you have to admit you were rushing things." Faith suggested. "I don't know if I agree. It's just the way things were. I mean I meet the whole family with my butt the center of attention. What else is Zac suppose to do? I mean if I hadn't been hurting so bad I never would have thought of going in the lake and when we were wading, I just knew I'd feel better, so what else was I to do?" Jessy argued. "Maybe but Momma wasn't here she doesn't know how things were." Chele said. "So I'll tell her. You know I'll write her the story and e-mail it to her and see what she says." Jessy said as the three got excited about the story concept as they heard a knock on the window. "It's the guys." Faith said as Jessy changed tops quickly, "Okay, I guess." Jessy answered lacing her bodice. "Let me out so I get my pants on right." Jessy said sliding out the side door still lacing up. "Can't dress yourself?" Zac teased pulling her pants up the rest of the way and zipping them. "Thanks now finish this while I brush my hair." Jessy asked. "Why don't I brush the hair, I hear my boobies screaming already to get out. Shit they're halfway out now." Zac teased. "And you love it." Jessy insisted. "Man you guys don't even have to sing or play, you're hot." Isaac said fanning himself. "Too hot to handle old man." Faith teased. "Didn't say that." Isaac replied wrapping her in his arms kissing her passionately, caressing her butt. "Wow." Faith said her knees giving way as Isaac swept her up in his arms. "Way to go bro. Sweep her off her feet." Zac teased. "My turn." Chele teased. "You girls are do backstage, we better go." Taylor insisted. "My sticks." Jessy said reaching inside. "Okay stop staring at the butt." Jessy mumbled. "We were just paying homage. It did bring us all together." Zac said. "Yeah if I hadn't dumped you on it." Isaac said. "And now we're all trying to protect it." Taylor suggested. "Well, we better get." Jessy said rising with her stick bag and they made their way to backstage as the guys saw to it that everything was setup right before heading out. "Ladies and Gentlemen, MayFest proudly present the hottest thing on the scene this year. I guarantee you'll being hearing from them again real soon. Here they are again to rock you, Chele, Faith and Jessy, 'Sisters of the Heart' take it away girls." the announcer said as the number started with a drum solo by Jessy. "It's a good thing she pulled out of the competition she's good." Walker said as Chele and Faith started in on guitars and Jessy headed front stage grabbing her bass and they rocked the place pulling in people from all parts of the Festival, everyone on their feet clapping. "This is just the introduction. We're in trouble." Isaac teased. "I wonder if they'll still remember us." Taylor pouted as the girls started singing. "Man I should have made love to her." Zac mumbled. "Me too." Taylor added. "Me three." Isaac finished as they looked at each other and laughed. "Instead of making love to them and chance messing up a good thing, why don't you use your heads. What is it you've talked about lately, the next step for Hanson?" Walker said leaning closer. "What Dad?" they asked. "You want to produce your own album. Start your own production company, I think you could convince them to sign with you, don't you?" Walker asked. "Great idea Dad." Zac said, adding, "I know I can talk Jessy into it." "Well I know I can talk Chele into it." Taylor said. "Done deal then, I know I can talk Faith into it." Isaac insisted as the three talked over the possibilities of starting their own production company as the girls finished and were asked to perform another number. "Well you know we play and sing, now we'd like to show you that we can sing and dance. I'm really risking it here but I want to show you there's another way, Joe can I borrow your jacket?" Jessy asked and Joe made his way up to the stage. "Sure Jessy." Joe said tossing his jacket to her. "Everyone this is Joe a good friend. As you can see he has a hard time telling me no. I tend to have that affect on people, well most people." Jessy giggled as she pulled on Joe's jacket, buttoned it up, rolled the sleeves, then turned up the collar. "You all enjoying MayFest? Isn't this just an awesome event. Yeah I think so, none better. Let me see the hands of you who aren't from Tulsa. Wow lots of you." Jessy said surprised at the number of hands. "To those of you with your hands down, thank you for your hospitality." Chele said borrowing a denim jacket from someone in the audience too. "No how many of you are from Oklahoma, put your hands down." Jessy asked and not even half of the hands went down. "Wow what a tribute to the Festival and the promoters. This is just awesome." Jessy said as the stage crew brought out the head mics and removed the others and Faith was offered a denim jacket. "We ready to rock you again. Like I said there's another way to do things, and we are talented enough to do just that." Jessy said as the sang and danced to 'You Drive Me Crazy' and everyone understood the another way comment. The girls were so well received they were asked to do another number. "Genie In A Bottle' the audience chanted. "Fine by us, we love that song." Faith hollered back as the stage director let them know they were ready and the girls counted off and enjoyed dancing their version thrilling the crowds again. "No more, I'm hungry Jessy complained. "Okay one last one, our pick 'Everyday People' cuz that's what we are, all of us." Jessy said as they start off just as Hanson had done it years back, thrilling the crowds. As the girls updated the number, doing a little rap, the crowds roared. As they ended they took hands and bowed together, then returned their jackets. "Thank you Tulsa, you rock." Jessy screamed noticing the guys heading backstage as they left the stage. They grabbed their guitars and headed to the van loading up and heading home.
