They were all gathered around the Hanson's kitchen table. Becky with a headset on and her nose buried in a English Lit book, doing her homework while Isaac, his family and Chris were getting to know Becky inside and out. "I don't understand, there's a year missing here. At least I think so." Diana said. "I thought the same thing Mom." Taylor agreed. "I see what you mean, I wonder what happened that year." Walker asked and Chris just shrugged his shoulders as Becky pulled a black album from her backpack, hugged it tight then lightly caressing it as her face lost all expression except for the tears in her eyes. A single tear was making its way down her cheek as she sighed picking up her English Lit book and placing the album in front of Isaac as she left the room, making her way to the rocking chair in the family room, curling up in a ball and quietly crying herself to sleep. Back at the table, Isaac opened the album to the newspaper and magazine articles, on her attack and the murder of her parents and a police officer by a crazed fan, "God my poor baby, I remember that now. Oh no, I think Becky finally killed him in self defense if I remember it correctly. Afterwards she lobbied for the stalker laws." Walker said as Isaac finished reading the articles then moving to her crusade for stalker laws first in her home State then nationally. The book ended with the reviews of her first dance appearance since the tragedy and her triumphant return to her career. Isaac then shared the fact that she was as she put it, "filthy stinking rich but works so hard at not making her stink". "How can she be that rich if she works in a coffee shop." Zac asked confused. "She doesn't have to, she works for the companionship." Isaac explained as they began reading her children's books. "There's another one about friendship I really liked Mom." Isaac said grabbing her backpack finding the book but also a book she hadn't shared 'Thou Shalt Not Kill Unless'. At first he put the book back, feeling he was intruding in her privacy, but finally gave into the urge and pulled it back out reading aloud the events, the threats, harassing phone calls, the murder of her dog, the fire bombs, all that preceeded the tragic night Becky's life changed. Her chilling recollection of the whole ordeal, her witnessing the execution of both her mother and father, before the police arrived. Then the killing of one officer and the serious wounding of his partner at which time Becky finally picked up the dead police officers's gun, in defense of the other police officer, ending another human life. "To the family of Police Office James Lewis, his wife Mary and two sons Mark and James, my eternal gratitude. If it were not for the heroic actions of your husband, father, I would not be alive today. Words will never express my respect for the manner in which he preformed his job that day. The bravery, courage and determination he displayed and the ultimate sacrifice made, his own life for that of myself and his partner, Officer West. I know nothing can ease your pain besides time, but I hope knowing what a courageous thing he did that day and the fact that I am forever grateful will help. As a small token of my gratitude, all proceeds from the sale of this book will go into a trust fund for you, his loved ones he left behind that day he chose to step in front of me and take the bullet meant to end my life, not his. He and you will be in my prayers. Love Always and Day, Becky." Isaac read through his tears, looking around the table to the others as they all clasped hands and prayed. "I can't believe that was only four years ago. She's has come a long way, I don't know that I would have been so strong. Literally facing this all alone, he murdered her family, she was left alone." Walker said shaking his head. "At seventeen to face your own mortality, witness three senseless murders. It's a miracle it didn't destroy her too." Diana commented. "I'm starting to recall this, your Becky is quite remarkable Isaac. If I remember correctly, she promoted that to the Best Seller's list for over six months straight raising multi millions to aid the police officer's family." Chris shared. "Maybe you ought to check on her son." Diana suggested and Isaac made his way finding Becky still asleep in the rocking chair. As he picked up her English Lit book, she stirred. "Oh I must have fallen asleep. The blues tend to do that." Becky said looking away. "Babe, you sure are one hell of a woman. I admire how you've handle all that. Jesus Becky when I think of why we met, the compassion you showed drawing me to you. My trials pale in comparison to yours, but your were there for me, to pick me up, dust me off and show me the way. I love you more than words can ever express." Isaac said kissing her deeply. "Sometimes words aren't necessary. Isaac you have given me back something he took away that day, something I didn't think I deserved. For so long I fought the feeling of I didn't deserve to live, three others weren't alive because of me. Well I finally put that in perspective and went on with life Isaac, I threw myself into all sorts of things, the book to benefit the Lewis family, the passage of stalker laws, then my dance and my education. But Isaac it wasn't until you came into my life that I was truly happy again, you gave me back happiness. I'm no longer just going through the motions of living, I'm enjoying living." Becky explained kissing him deeply with every part of her, then finishing, "You were the one there for me, to pick me up and show me how to live again. I'll never forget everything that happened Isaac, but I finally can go on living because of you."
