"Morning, what can I get you." Becky asked really not looking at her next customer. She had been on her feet, smiling and serving breakfast to countless customers all to put her way through college. "Start you with a cup of coffee?" Becky asked noticing he was still studying the menu. "Yeah that would be nice. Thank you." Isaac said. "Sure no problem." Becky said getting a thermal pot of coffee for the table and returning, pour the first cup. "You make sure you crack the top before you pour, I wouldn't want you burned by the steam. My name's Becky, so when you down a little coffee and can read that menu and decide what you want for breakfast you just call me." Becky said returning to pick up and deliver an order. In between sips of his coffee, Isaac's attention was drawn to her, her smile, the twinkle in her eye, her laugh at the same joke, over and over. Becky noticed him looking as she was double checking a table near him to make sure that everything was still fine. "So did you decide or you want me to tell you what even I eat?" Becky whispered, pointing at her favorite. "I actually eat it everyday that I work. You'd think by now I'd be a potato." Becky giggled then frowned, "Hey I haven't had my break and potato fix for the day." Becky mumbled. "Why don't you join me?" Isaac blurted out. "Umm. I think I'd like that. Let me get our orders in and I'll see you for break." Becky said smiling and heading to the kitchen, placing their orders before clearing tables and the counter, delivering dirty dishes to the back. As their orders came up, Becky delivered them and then quickly checked with all the customers, letting them know she was taking a break. "Thank goodness. Ahhh. I'm sorry, it's just, I've been at this since 5am and I'm done in. I'm only working parttime but lately all the boss seems to do is dump on my. Someone else didn't bother to come in, so Becky, the customer's love you so. Oh no, my Trig homework. Yikes." Becky said dashing to the counter leaning over and pulling out her backpack and returning to the table. "Sorry I can't remember now if I have it done." Becky explained pulling out her Trig book. "Yes. Done good. I wouldn't want to have to try and figure this on my fried brain." Becky said laying her head on her bag. "I tend to get a little dramatic." Becky giggled as she rose and their eyes met. She gazed into his warm brown eye lost for a moment as she started to smile before her eyes got big and her face fell in awe. "You, you, .." Becky tried to say pointing at him then grabbing her backpack and flipping it over showing her Moe keychain and Moe membership card. "Becky I'm sorry. It's just, I'm not suppose to be out by myself. The guards and my folks would have a fit. I just had to get away, please don't let on it's me?" Isaac asked. "Yeah sure. Why Isaac? What so wrong?" Becky asked her concern apparent. "Nothing. It's just gets so old you know. The same old thing. I'm not really jealous but just sometimes." Isaac explained picking at his food. "Sometimes the morons get your attention and bring you down to their level huh?" Becky asked placing her hand over his, connecting. "So you've heard them?" Isaac whispered. "Hun I've been a fan like forever and I've heard them all. Isaac don't let it get to you. There's no excuse for it. You know you're one of the most talented musicians of our time don't you. Of course you do." Becky said lightly squeezing his hand before removing it and grabbing her fork and eating before her break was over. "So you like Mike's special?" Becky asked to change the subject so as not to embarass him. "Yeah it is good. I was just driving, they think I'm in the studio." Isaac explained. "Hun I'm really sorry this brought you down. As I always tell the morons, Hanson is three, not two, not one but three, Isaac, Taylor, Zac is Hanson. I have to get back to work hun, enjoy your breakfast. Isaac it's not true, none of it. Please don't let it get to you." Becky said lightly caressing his face before rising, grabbing her backpack and dishes and heading to the counter. She got back to work clearing tables and preparing for the lunch crowd. "That does it for me Mike, Ann is here." Becky said delivering her final checks to her customers and with Isaac's she left a note "Isaac, before it gets this bad next time, so you feel you have to run, call me and let's talk. Your friend first and fan always and a day, Becky, ###-####." Becky was out the front door, into a pair of rollerblades and making her way to campus for her Trig class, before Isaac picked up his check and found her note. Isaac pulled out his wallet and got out money to cover the check, leaving a generous tip and placed Becky's note into his wallet for later. By the time Becky was in class, Isaac had decided to head to the studio, his spirits lifted. "Wow whatever, whoever is resonsible for the old Ike being her, just thanks." Taylor said. "It's a her isn't it?" Zac asked. "Don't know what you're saying guys." Isaac played dumb as they got back to work the voices coming together beautifully for the first time in a week or more. During their break, Isaac snuck off and dialed Becky, "Hello." she answered. "Becky?" Isaac asked. "Yeah, Hi Isaac. I was just thinking about you. You feeling any better about things Isaac?" Becky asked. "Yeah Becky, I just called to tell you thanks. I haven't felt this god about things in quite a while, so just thanks." Isaac said and they spoke throughout his break. "I have to go now Becky, they're ready for the next take." Isaac said. "Sounds like things are going better. I'm glad. Don't forget I'm a fan too, and I can't wait for this album to be done." Becky admitted. "Well it's a lot closer thans to you. Becky could we, I mean would you, I'd like.." Isaac was suddenly lost for words. "Isaac it's me Becky. Just ask me already." Becky insisted. "Go out with me?" Isaac blurted out. "That wasn't that bad was it?" Becky asked. "Becky I'm sorry, I should know better than pull that old pity me I'm tongue ited bit on you." Isaac teased. "You are so full of it." Becky laughed. "Got to make you laugh or you just might take me seriously." Isaac kidded. "Too late, already did and you are taking me out, whether you want to or not. Do you hear me?" Becky warned. "Fisty. I like." Isaac teased. "When are you taking me out?" Becky asked, adding, "And where?" "Pushy." Isaac teased. "Fine don't answer me. I have tomorrow off and no classes. Take me to the beach. I'll meet you there because I'm going even if you stand me up." Becky said explaining where and when before hanging up.
