"I told you and such a cute little reason to run. Taylor what are they gonna say about Zac having a baby. They came unglued when he said he was in love and getting married. Wait until they find out about the baby." Chele said. "Don't worry nothing will happen to either of them. You heard Dad, that's his grandson and let anyone try and touch a blonde hair on his head." Taylor said. "Blonde hair. Dang Taylor that baby is bald." Chele said. "No he is not. You watch what you're saying that's my nephew." Taylor said. "So he's you nephew by his daddy. He's my nephew by the mommy and that makes us closer. Look it up in the rule book." Chele said walking back in. "I can't wait anymore that's all the private time you get. So when did you have Jacob and how could you not tell me." Chele asked. "Umm You leave Tulsa yet sis?" Jessy asked. "No Jessy I haven't, I see what you mean. So when was my nephew born. Are you okay, did you have a hard time, everything okay. Gawd he's so cute. Looks a lot like that baby picture of Zac that was on the net. Remember?" Chele asked. "Geez I'm out of practice. Gramma don't talk much and Jacob cries and coos. Let's say Jacob's birthday, May 6. Mom is fine. Easy birth because he's such a good baby. Everything is fine not that Daddy's with us. And Yeah he looks so much like Zac. The minute they handed him to me, I saw his Daddy's eyes, warm and brown. He melted my heart right then and he has me totally wrapped around his little finger." Jessy said. "Gawd Jessy you had him on Hanson Day Sis how appropriate." Chele said as Taylor opened the door "It's starting, Jessie is on." he said. "Come on Zac, I want to see this. Man this is gonna be hard the first four girls are mine." Jessy said standing behind Sis and Zac once the entered the auditorium. "She looks so grown up. I was only gone a little over ten months. She dances like you Sis, you been working with her haven't you?" Jessy asked. "Yeah Jessy. I'm surprised you can tell." Chele said. "What, oh wait until you see #3." Jessy said hearing Jacob fussing. "Zac please go to him for me. Jessie catches sight of me it will throw her for a loop and mess up everything." Jessy pleaded. "Jessy don't worry babe. I'll go." Zac said heading down the row behind the family stopping behind John as Venita turned to see what was wrong, grabbing the diaper bag and heading his way. "Venita right?" Zac asked. "Yeah Zac. Daddy right?" Venita asked. "Yeah Venita." Zac laughed picking up Jacob from John and he immediately quieted. "Wow even Jacob agrees. Man you have mommy crying. You better hurry before she starts bawling." Venita said as Zac unsnapped and changed his son for the first time, snapping him back up. "You want him back Grampa?" Zac asked. "No son but your mother is dying to hold him." John said as Zac moved down the aisle as everyone applauded for Jessie. "Gramma, Grampa Martin says you're dying to hold my son." Zac said as his mother turned with tears in her eyes and her arms outstretched. "Jacob Walker Mackenzie soon to be Hanson welcome." Diana said. "Mom turn around so I can pull your hair back. Jacob loves pulling hair." Zac said. "Too late Zac. Release that grip can you? Walker help me you grandson is about to drag me around by my hair." Diana chuckled as Walker unpried his fingers. "My god look at the length of those fingers. Women show me his feet, I bet he has Hanson feet also. Lord yes. Looks just like Zac's all hands and feet for the longest time. Man he does look like Zac, doesn't he mother?" Walker said. "Just like one of my babies Walker. I can't believe the family resemblance. It's such a miracle. You're happy, healthy and mommy is fine, in spite of everything. Venita thank you grandmother again for loving them both for us until we could get her back with us. God bless her, Jessy healthy and happy and so is Jacob." Diana said tears flowing freely. "Mother you'll confuse Jacob. Tears with the biggest smile on your face." Walker said. "From the looks of Jessy, he's used to it Mom. I'm going back to your mommy son, you hang out with your gramma here. We'll be back as soon as Avie has danced." Zac said leaning forward kissing his head. "Don't even think about it boy." Zac said and Jacob took his eyes off his hair and looked at his face. "Yeah I'm talking to you boy." Zac said kissing him again before heading back to Jessy. "He was wet." Zac said as he wrapped his arms around Jessy. "Smiling with tears flowing down your face. Just like Mom babe. Some sort of ritual you two got going, huh? In some secret club I don't know about?" Zac asked. "Zac lovers secret club, we all smile and cry at the same time. You'll learn your son can sit all day in a poopy diaper but let him tinkle the slightest bit and get me out of this disgusting diaper he'll scream." Jessy said. "So I'll change him every time he cries and you can have the rest of the times." Zac said. "Hey I feed him you change him." Jessy complained. "I'd feed him but I don't got boobs." Zac teased. "Well that's not my fault." Jessy said as Lindsay appeared on stage. "Did you work with her too?" Jessy asked. "Yeah those three are inseperable since you left. Most of the time with the Martins though." Chele answered. "Mrs M works only part time now. She's home with Lindsay until she's off to school and she's back home before Lindsay returns. Babe Lindsay took it real hard and blamed her folks for not telling you they had custody, something like it was so hard to just say, Hey Jessy don't ever worry again about that monster, he gave up all rights to you and you're safe here. She came down hard on them. Babe you would have been proud of her, well maybe not about the Jessy she pulled." Zac said "What? What did she do Zac?" Jessy asked turning her attention to Zac. "Babe she booked. Pedalled her bicycle all the way to our house and told my Mom she couldn't live with them anymore. She was ashamed of the way they treated Jessy and if it wasn't for them Jessy never would have left. She said we would have worked things out, that you didn't run because of me, you ran because you were afraid that your father would find you and make you go home and that her Mom and Dad knew that would never happen." Zac said. "God Zac what have I done, you get pissed and you book, Lindsay gets pissed and she books, all because I ran and ran again to not get caught. God Zac it has to stop. Please hun help me make it stop. I'd die if Jacob got pissed and ran because I did and he figured it was the way to handle things." Jessy cried burying her face in her hands hiding in Zac's chest. "Yeah babe, it's time to stop the running. We'll find a way together." Zac said kissing the top of her head as the watched the end of Lindsay's routine. "Come on Sela is next. She can see me." Jessy said heading down the row behind his family. "Whoa I think someone knows his mommy look at that smile." Diana said. "Mom nice sentiment but your grandson is filling his pants if I know his smiles." Jessy said as Jacob started to fuss. "What was that you said hun, you'll change him when he cries right?" Jessy asked. "Not fair I just changed him." Zac whined. "Man you, your son which one is which?" Jessy laughed. "Isaac man that camera your father has a dirty diaper to change." Diana ordered. "Sorry dad. Man glad it's you and not me. It was nice knowing you that nephew of mine is potent. Smells alot like his father." Isaac teased. "Man changed Zac and now I'm changing his son. Stories will be told huh kids." Walker laughed sitting back down next to his wife. "Why am I laughing, you stink little man. What's mommy feeding you?" Walker asked. "Mommy gave up being a vegetarian for the sake of stinky diapers." Jessy said. "Jessy baby, I'm so proud of you. That's probably the glow, I thought it was just motherhood." Diana said. "Nope from the minute I figured out I was pregnant, back to all the fattening things dairy products, eggs, lean meats. Man the last month was the hardest all I wanted was hotdogs, disgusting things. Had them for breakfast, lunch and dinner poor Gramma could hardly stand me. She kept telling me if I didn't stop the baby would be born like a weiner dog, well he did get a weiner but a little cute one. Since his birth I barf at the sight of hotdogs." Jessy said as Zac took her hand in his. "She dances like me too, How'd that happen?" Chele asked. "I taught her and who taught me? Duh!!" Jessy said. "She's good sis, real good." Chele said. "Why thank you and thank you." Jessy said. "Very good Walker. You remember how." Diana said bagging the dirty diaper. Jessy noticed the look in Zac's eyes and followed his glare to his father playing with his son. "That's how he played with each of us Jessy. Just like that, like he and Jacob are the only people in the world and nothing else matters." Zac said as Avie headed on stage and Jessy slumped down in her chair, so she wouldn't be seen. "What's she dancing to Sis?" Jessy asked. "Everybody by BSB. Where's the music?" Chele said standing and looking at the booth. "I'm sorry Miss I have a broken tape and it won't play." the booth announced. "Do you have an extra?" Jessy asked. "No of all times." Diana said. "Where's the diaper bag. I have cd's and tapes in the pocket in the front." Jessy said as Diana searched. "In a CD only." Diana said. "Can you play a CD?" Chele asked. "No ma'am. Sorry." the booth said. "Wait." Jessy said grabbing a tape and tossing it to the booth. "Play number 3 please." Jessy said heading to the stage. "Jessy" Avie squealed. "Hey baby. Sela Lane please bring me you cowgirl hat, boots and vest please. Thanks for your patience judges. We'll just show how talented we are by changing numbers to something she hasn't done in almost a year but I know she can do it." Jessy said as Sela showed up and helped Avie change. "Come on baby we're about to boot scoot. Remember how?" Jessy asked. "Yeah I think so. I can't do this." Avie said. "What did you say, can't. Where's that attitude girl? Can't boot scoot without attitude." Jessy said shaking her butt at Avie. "Eat your heart out." Jessy said. "Let's boot scoot." Jessy hollered heading off stage as the music started and Jessy whooped and hollered and Avie started and scooted with the best as Jessy danced in the aisle soon joined by Chele. With the help of Chele and Jessy exciting the audience as they danced up and down the aisles, Avie stole the show. After the last dancer, and honorable mentions to Jessie, Lindsay, and Sela, Avie was declared the winner citing her show biz attitude and not giving up. After the competition everyone went to lunch.
