I Don't Think So

Part Three

"I have you breathless already. So you want me huh?" Zac teased. "I don't think so Zac. I just ran from upstairs to catch the phone is all, I thought it might be important. I'm a big person, I can admit when I'm wrong." Jessy teased back. "Ahhh you've wounded me." Zac teased. "No not you, maybe that overinflated ego of yours, but I would never hurt you Zac." Jessy teased. "Got me. Hey I asked my folks and they said fine. Mom can't wait to meet you. I'm a little jealous she seems to know about me than I do." Zac said. "Don't be jealous hun, next time I won't spend so much time kissing you and we'll have more time to just talk like your Mom and I did. It won't be as much fun, but I'll suffer my way through it for you Zac." Jessy said. "No way. I liked kissing you Jessy. A lot." Zac said excitedly. "Me too Zac. I'm glad you changed your mind." Jessy said and they talked for almost two hours. "Man Zac where does time go. I haven't cleaned up their brownie mess yet. I really have to go this time Zac." Jessy said. "No I can't let you go, what if you're just a dream and I never find you again. Jessy please don't go." Zac asked desperately. "Hun didn't you feel me hug you tight and kiss you?" Jessy asked. "Yeah I liked it Jessy, that's why I can't lose you." Zac confessed. "Zac I'm real and I'm not going anywhere. Even if I do I'd make sure you knew, I liked it too Zac and I like you. It's been awhile since someone made me feel like laughing so thanks Zac." Jessy said fighting the tears. "Baby you okay? Jessy what's wrong?" Zac asked. "I'll be okay, especially when I see you again and you hug me and make it all okay again." Jessy said. "I wish I was there now." Zac said. "Me too Zac. Um you gonna call me tomorrow?" Jessy asked. "Sure when?" Zac asked. "I really tired the girls out, they probably won't wake up until lunch time so anytime before then. I promised them the mall in the afternoon." Jessy said. "You don't drive, how you getting there?" Zac asked. "The Martins gave me an account with a local limo service here in town as a bonus to take the job. I'm not tied down to the house. I get the feeling they don't want me quitting and going back home. Little do they know, that will never happen, but I'll keep taking their bribes." Jessy giggled. "So you're not going home. Why Jessy?" Zac asked with concern in his voice. "Zac there's just nothing worth while there since Momma died. is all. Zac hun I gotta go. Talk to you tomorrow." Jessy quickly said and hung up as the tears came. "You'd hate me if you knew, so you'll never know. None of you." Jessy said aloud as she headed to clean up the kitchen and lock the house for the night. Like many other nights, Jessy laid in bed staring at the ceiling afraid of the memories and dreams that would come if she closed her eyes. Like all the nights she fought sleep until she was completely exhausted and couldn't help but fall asleep. She woke to her ringing phone, "8am" she grumbled as she reached for the phone, "Good morning." Jessy answered. "Hey Jessy. Hope this isn't too early.I couldn't sleep, kept thinking about you. I just couldn't wait to talk to you again." Zac said. "Nah Zac, it's not too early I had to get up any way and answer the phone." Jessy teased. "Oh you're asking for it already. Don't you ever give it a rest." Zac asked. "Nah hun. As long as you keep asking for it, I've got to do my best to let you have it." Jessy giggled. "You even wake up bad Jessy. I'm in love." Zac confessed. "Yeah you love me. Right. Zac you're more sleep deprived than I am." Jessy laughed, quickly adding. "Boy judged them wrong, the girls are up hun I gotta go. No bouncing on the bed. Zac I'll talk to you later hun call me in an hour after I feed the hungry animals." Jessy giggled. "I'm serious about being in love. Call you in an hour babe." Zac said hanging up. Jessy got up and made the girls pancakes and sent them on their way to clean up, dress, pick up their room and pack their bags. They headed up the stairs as her phone rang, "Zac?" she answered it. "See I told you, from breathless to anxious. Face it girl you want me bad." Zac said. "Wait I thought you said I was bad, now I want you bad. We taking turns, I'm bad, you're bad." Jessy giggled. "Babe you're just terrible. I love you that way too." Zac confessed. "Hun we're heading out early for the mall if I can change the car service. So we'll be leaving earlier." Jessy said. "No I thought I'd have you to myself until noon. Not fair." Zac pouted. "Welcome to the world hun. Not fair is the motto." Jessy teased and they decided if Jessy didn't go she would call him back, otherwise they would meet when she dropped off the girls. Jessy called the car service and changed to and earlier time with no problem so she dialed Zac, "Hansons" the man said. "Hey Hanson. My name is Jessy and I'm looking for Zac." Jessy said. "So you're the light in my son's eyes." Walker said. "That'd be me I'm proud to say." Jessy giggled. "Zac is outside right now with his brothers, hang on a minute and I'll call him." Walker said. "Mr.H please don't. Just tell him I called to let him know that we are headed to the Mall early, I was able to change the car service. I've really enjoyed your girls, they've been so much fun. Jessie said you live between here and the Mall so I'll just drop them off on the way home and save you guys a trip." Jessy said. "You are a sweetie. I look forward to meeting you Jessy and I'll tell Zac." Walker said and they hung up. Jessy showered and dressed for a day of shopping and was wowed when the girls all appeared dressed to the nines. "Man I gotta change, I don't match." Jessy declared and they rushed to her room and helped her dress. Car service arrived and Jessy had the driver take their pictures so they could remember the day. They stopped by the Hansons on the way to the Mall, to leave the girls' suitcases. "Mommy, Daddy look at us, we're gorgeous." Jessie squealed opening the front door. "Oh Walker my babies look at them all grown up." Diana said teary eyed. "Hey Jessy. You got them looking fine." Tay said kissing her cheek. "Hey Tay. I'm Jessy Mr. Hanson, Mrs. Hanson. I hope you don't mind. We've all got our heads on straight right girls." Jessy said. "Yeah Jessy. Let them eat their hearts out." Avie said putting her hand on her hip. "I'm going to college so I don't have time for boys." Jessie said crossing her arms. "Look but don't touch." Lindsay said. "Girls that's your attitude for the nerdy boys not your parents. Oh so much work and so little time." Jessy giggled. "You go gurls." Diana laughed high fiving each of them. "You practice that attitude and have fun girls." Walker said kissing each of their cheeks. Jessy suddenly felt a shiver, goose bumps, "Zac" she whispered turning to search for him. He stood at the top of the stairs his eyes fixed on her and as she turned to him, he smiled as their eyes met. "Walker Hanson do you see that." Diana whispered. "She knew he was there before he made a sound. The look in his eyes, reminds me of us." Walker said. "Hey Zac." Jessy said as he made he way to her. "Hey Jessy" he said wrapping his arms around her and pulling her into him, pressing his lips to hers tenderly. "You all look great. Really cool girls, you'll break hearts left and right." Zac said. "That's the plan." Avie said, adding, "We ready. I got hearts to break." "Hey young lady what did I say about that?" Jessy asked. "We dressed to make ourselves feel good, not to attract boys. I'm sorry Jessy really I am." Avie said ashamed. "I know you are baby, you want dress up then you have to grow up. Avie teasing can get you in so much trouble. Trouble way over your head, hey I'm not ready for that kind of trouble yet so maybe we better tone down our attitudes a little you think?" Jessy asked the three while kissing and hugging Avie. "Yeah we don't have to be tuff." Jessie said. "Yeah we can still be nice and look bad." Lindsay said. "Can we still go, please Jessy?" Avie asked. "Of course we can, let's go have fun." Jessy said turning quickly to Zac, "Gotta go hun." she said caressing his face before kissing him sweetly. "Time to go girls." Jessy said and the four headed to the car, loading up to make their way to the Mall.
