I Don't Think So

Part Twenty-Two

Zac finally came in over ten hours after he had slammed their door. Jessy laid there as he sat at the foot of their bed taking off his shoes, "Jessy? Babe you awake?" Zac whispered. "Yeah Zac." Jessy answered but Zac was quiet. It seemed like an eternity, the silence driving her crazy, "Zac?" Jessy asked receiving no response still so she crawled to the foot of the bed. "I thought we could talk about anything?" Jessy whispered finding Zac with his head hung. "I'm scared Jessy. I don't want to leave you and Jacob, don't make me Jessy." Zac pleaded grabbing her and laying his head in her lap, "Please don't make me." Zac begged. "Zac that's not what I want but what else can I do?" Jessy asked. "Come with me. Jessy you and Jacob have to come with me. because I won't leave you two. I just won't go. I'll stay here with you and Jacob." Zac said. "I don't think so. God Zac where'd you come up with that. You can't not go." Jessy ordered. "You aren't going, I ain't going." Zac said sitting up. "I don't believe you. If you think throwing a tantrum is going to get your way you got another think coming." Jessy said crawling back to the top of the bed crawling back under the covers, "Goodnight." Jessy said laying back down. "Jessy I am not throwing a tantrum how can you say that?" Zac asked. "Sssh you'll wake Jacob. I think you just told me if I don't go that you won't go either. Why didn't you just say if I don't get my way I'll hold my breath until I get my way." Jessy accused. "Why is this happening?" Zac yelled slamming the door on his way out again waking Jacob. "Oh baby sssh. Daddy didn't mean to wake you. I know he didn't." Jessy said picking him up and heading after Zac. She caught up with him in the family room with Ike, Becky, Tay, Chele and his parents. "Zac Hanson I expect you to apologize. Jacob didn't do this. You want to be angry with me, you go right ahead. Don't take it out on your son." Jessy said quietly and calmly placing Jacob in his arm and returning to their room with saying another word. "Why is this happening?" Jessy asked falling to her knees and praying for guidance. Jessy was still on her knees when Zac opened the door and soon knelt beside her. "Jessy can you forgive me? I can't believe I yelled and slammed the door knowing Jacob was asleep right there. I was angry, you called it like you saw it and I didn't care for what you saw. Truth is I was acting like a spoiled brat, throwing a tantrum, threatening if I didn't get my way." Zac admitted. "Zac what are we going to do? I don't blame you for being angry it must be such a slap in the face. My refusing to go with you is the same as saying I don't trust you to take care of Jacob and me. Zac I do trust you, honest but I'm still so scared of the press. Zac help me not be afraid." Jessy asked laying her head on his shoulder. "Babe I'd give anything to have the two of you with me, but Jessy I remember what you said and I had no right to ask you to come to LA." Zac apologized kissing the top of her head. "Zac I'm sorry. I wish I wasn't so afraid of what others think. Please don't be angry with me." Jessy said hugging him tight as the tears started to fall. "Oh babe I'm sorry don't cry. Jessy I'm not angry with you, honest baby. Why do I always hurt you?" Zac asked rocking her gently in his arms. "Jessy you got to know how much I love you, I'm sorry I've been such a jerk over this. I guess it's because I knew the minute the guys said let's record it, we'd be separated. God give me strength." Zac prayed. "Zac ask him to help you protect us, I'll come with you Zac. Jacob and I will come if you take off your wedding ring for me?" Jessy whispered. "What? Jessy did you say you'd come? Honest babe, I can't believe you'll do this for me. Jessy I won't let you down. I'll protect you and Jacob, noone will get at you." Zac said kissing her over and over. "Zac will you take off your ring for me though?" Jessy asked. "No Jessy I can't take it off but babe everytime I kiss you goodbye, you can take my ring and hold it until I return." Zac promised. 'Then I'll go, Jacob and I are going to LA too." Jessy declared. "Yes, Yes, Yes!!" Zac screamed rising with Jessy in his arms spinning and screaming his elation. "Zac stop I'm getting dizzy. Stop I'm going to hurl." Jessy hollered first smacking Zac then clasping her hands to her mouth as Zac raced them across the hall. He held her hair back as she emptied her empty stomach then held her. "Babe you don't look so good, you aren't going to pass out on me again are you?" Zac asked. "I don't think so. I've had a ruff day is all." Jessy said. A week later, the family was all packed up for their trip to LA. Zac and Jessy were also driving and left a day early to avoid any Hanson spotters. The three were all settled in by the time the rest of the family arrived.
