The day flew bye. After Avie calmed down, bringing Mom back
with a million questions, Jessy gave the kids their
diaries, explaining it was a place to talk to every day,
especially when everyone around you seemed to busy to care.
"Some day we can go to my room and I'll show you my past, I
have a box of filled diaries." Jessy said and told each of
them to start by writing in their diaries. "Jessy how come
they made a book of your story?" Avie asked with interest.
"I think I was in either 2nd or 3rd grade, I had a teacher
who loved to write and we all entered this national
contest. I was lucky enough to win and that was first
prize, they printed your story. I have some more copies at
my Gramma's. I'll write her and have her send me some so
you can each have your own. Avie, do you think you'd like
to try writing a story and entering it in the contest?"
Jessie asked. "Yes could I Mommy?" Avie begged. "Of course
sweetie, you think about something to write your story
about. I'll call this number in the back and see about the
contest." Mom said. "Mom let's check the web, it's faster.
Do you think Daddy would let me use his computer?" Jessy
asked. "Of course not, you kids these days. Computers are
like pencils to you." Mom said as they entered the office.
She explained to Daddy as Jessy powered up and went on
line. "My password is.." Daddy tried to say but Jessy
interrupted, "Password, Smasword, there's always a way in,
if you want it bad enough. Here it's easy, Mom it looks
like she still has time if she's interested. Avie!!!" Jessy
hollered. "Avie you have time to sign up if you're serious
but you would have to get Serious, your first draft is due
a week from tomorrow. Now we can help by making
suggestions, but you have to write it, decide about what,
how it happens, who it happens to, and how it ends, not
Mom, not me. Do you understand?" Jessy asked. "Mommy please
I want to be an author like Jessy. Please." Avie begged.
"Of course Avie, but you better get to work. You can spend
the next week on Literature, forget the other subjects. Go
get started." Mom told her. "She's all signed up it you
press the Return key Mom." Jessy told her adding a reminder
date to the calendar of the computer for the various due
dates. "You sure know your way around that thing." Daddy
said. "Mom's business remember, I've learned a lot from
her, but Chele is the one who got me hooked on writing on
the web." Jessy said, adding, "You ever need help, I'll be
glad to give you a hand. I type pretty fast, but not like
mom." Jessy offered. "I'll remember that." Daddy said. Mom
took Mackie to buy new pants, his had suddenly gotten too
short. Avie spent the day in her room writing. Jessy and
Jessie changed into the dance outfits, pushed the furniture
to the walls making a huge dance floor. Jessie got her
recital music and while Jessy put her slippers on watching
Jessie perform her routine. "They still fit." Jessy said
making her way to the kithen island to use as a practice
bar and started to limber up. When Jessy felt she wouldn't
hurt herself, she moved over and started the tape and
mirror danced Jessie, copying her every move. "One more
time and I should have it." Jessy said. The girls went
through the routine once more and Jessy had it down. "This
time I'm doing your routine as Jessy with a Y not IE.
Watch, see if you can see the difference." Jessy stood
tall, extending every move, and leaping so high she looked
as if she was flying. "How do you do that, teach me
please." Jessie begged. They worked tirelessly, at least
for IE, old Y was starting to feel the pain of neglecting
her art. "That's it I knew you could, let your heart free,
feel it and show us what you feel. Beautiful Ballerina,
that's what I'll call you, BB for short." Jessy teased and
caught Mom's eye. The look on her face was well worth the
cramp she felt in her right leg. Jessy noticed Daddy taping
her routine. On the stairs were her brothers. As she ended
they applauded her efforts and improvement. "Are you okay
Jessy? Hon you don't look good." Zac asked. "Zac I have a
charlie horse and it hurts." Jessy said throwing her arms
around him as she started to cry. "Get me out of here don't
let Jessie see me crying. Please." Jessy whispered. Zac
picked her up in his arms and carried her to the office. He
sat her in the chair. "No it's too soft. Put me on the
table." Jessy cried. "What's the matter?" Daddy asked. "I'm
too old for this." Jessy tried to laugh. "I've got a
charlie horse. It was stupid to dance so long, it's been
almost three years since I did this. Your mind sure is the
first thing to go." Jessy laughed. Zac had taken off
Jessy's slippers, and was massaging her leg. "Wow what a
knot, feel Dad." Zac said and Daddy rubbed the area. "Go
get your mother." he said, then massaged the spot harder.
"Jessy Zac told me, sweetie what can we do." Mom asked.
"Daddy's got great hands, you're a lucky lady." Jessy
smiled. "You look miserable." Zac said. "Oh you're nice."
Jessy said swinging her slipper ribbons at him like a whip.
"I'm sorry." Zac said moving closer wrapping his arm around
her and hugging her tight. Jessy wrapped her arms around
Zac and Mom noticed the ring, "Walker, look. Mother's ring.
Isn't that so sweet. She has to be smiling down on this."
Mom said kissing Daddy. Jessy had it easy the rest of the
day, leg up resting she read to Zoe and Mackie. She hobbled
to the table for lunch. Avie came down so excited she had
three ideas and was having a hard time deciding which to
enter. Tay and Chele took the kids to the park after lunch
so Jessy took a nap in Zac's bed because Mom and Dad
refused to let her go home alone. "Jessy, Mom wants you to
stay here tonight. Dinner's off I guess." Zac whispered.
"Oh no it's not." Jessy said. "I thought you were asleep."
Zac said. "No, just resting." Jessy said rolling over.
"Move I'm getting up. I'll walk if it kills me." Jessy said
sitting up and swinging her legs over the side. She got up
slowly her eyes getting extremely large but no tears.
"Jessy don't this is stupid." Zac said. "Are you calling me
stupid. There that helps, piss me off again and I'll walk."
Jessy laughed. "I'm serious don't hurt yourself for a
stupid dinner." Zac said. "Oh now you did it," Jessy went
after him not a limp. "So you think that will fool Mom and
Dad. They aren't senile." Zac said. Jessy had fire in her
eyes and walked past him to the stairs. She found Mom at
the table. "I think all I need was some sleep." Jessy
smiled and headed to the table. "Oh Jessy I'm so glad
you're okay. I was worried you were hurt because of me."
Jessie said. "No BB, I'm fine. I want you to walk through
your routine a couple more times, extending everything.
When you go for your lesson tomorrow, your teacher won't
know you. Mom can I go along, I'd love to see her show her
teacher what she learned." Jessy asked. "Good idea, we'll
all go. A family affair of sorts." Mom said. "I think I'll
invite Chele and you girls can stay downtown and pick up
Jen. Please make time to bring her by for us to meet her."
Mom said. "I hope Ike brings her by for you to meet her,
but if they don't connect, oh they have to I feel it."
Jessy said. "I do to, I think that prayer we said, she's
the answer." Mom smiled and Jessy kissed her. "I'll see you
in the morning then, bye." Jessy said picking up her
backpack and heading to the garage. She put on her headset,
tied her bells in and was ready to hop on her bike, "Jessy.
You don't fool me. You don't have to do this." Zac said.
"I'm not walking and I surely can't run, blading is out of
the questions, so what do you suggest." Jessy asked "Be
careful, I'll see you in three hours then." Zac said
kissing her softly. "God I hope I'm home by then. Keep a
lookout for me on the way over." Jessy laughed knowing how
worried Zac was. She took off and the minute she turned the
tears flowed, she cried most of the way home. She put her
bike away and headed to the back door, the first step up
sent Jessy to her knees and she crawled the rest of the
way. She unlocked the door and got up in the door frame,
and hopped to the freezer. She took out a roast and hopped
to the table sat in a straight backed chair lifted her
right leg and placed it on the roast on the chair next to
her. She laid her head back and tried to concentrated on
something else beside the pain. Zac, thinking of Zac
helped. She feel asleep. "Jessy. God you really did it this
time." Chele said kissing her. "Hey sis. what you doing
here?" Jessy asked. Zac told me what you did, I came to see
what other damage you did." Chele said. "I hope those
aren't our steaks." Tay teased. "No I used that for the
sore spot on my ass. Oh, speaking of the steaks. They
should be ready to go in the marinade. Would you mind.
It'll take me a day to get that far." Jessy laughed.
"Taylor I hate to ask, but I have to go to the bathroom and
by the time I hop there it's going to be too late, would
you?" Jessy asked. "Sure Sis." Tay said picking Jessy up
and delivering her to the bathroom door and put her down.
"I sure hope you'll be okay from here or I can get Chele."
Tay said. "I should be okay. Thanks." Jessy said kissing
him on the cheek. When she opened the door both Chele and
Tay were waiting, "I'm spending the night, no arguements.
We're going to my place to pack, then we're going to the
Italian place downtown. You need any help fixing dinner for
lover boy." Chele asked. "Would you put it in the oven, I'd
hate to drop it, gimping over, Zac can take it out. He said
he'd be here by 5. I don't know how romantic this will be,
me moaning for all the wrong reasons." Jessy laughed
putting her hands over her face in embarassment. "Wow you
are special. I know somebody just as special." Taylor said
taking Jessy's left hand and looking at the ring. "Do you
know how special this makes you to Zac?" Tay said hugging
Jessy. "Yeah he told me it was his grandmother's ring the
year he was born, this is Zac, you, Ike, Mom and
Grandmother." Jessy said. "Don't tell Chele, I'm giving her
mine tonight." Tay whispered. "Oh I'm so glad." Jessy said
hugging him tighter. "What you two up to. Tell me what's
up?" Chele said. "I was asking him about Ike and Jen, Do
you know Mom asked that we make sure to bring her over so
she can meet the family. I said I hope Ike does that. She
said she felt Jen was the answer to the prayer we said
together the night of her big date." Jessy shared. "Oh I
know what you mean this just has to work." Chele said.
"Come on hun, we better get going. I have to pack. You sure
you can manage?" Chele asked. "I"ll be fine as soons as Zac
is here, don't worry. And you don't be keeping her out all
hours of the night 11 pm you here me son." Jessy acted
athoritative. "11 but Mom" Chele complained. "I let you 1
the other day, don't make me mad I'll make it 10." Jessy
laughed. "Ok Mom 11." Chele said sticking out her tongue.
"Kids these days, do the best you can and what do you get."
Jessy said shaking her head. "Get her out of here before I
ground her." Jessy said pushing Tay. "You two, separated is
right." Tay said putting his hands on Chele's waist, "Come
on hun before you get yourself grounded. Save that tongue
for me." Tay said. "What did you say young man?" Jessy
yelled after him. They were off and Jessy hopped back to
the kitchen digging through the closet and find Josh's
crutches. "Better." Jessy said and made her way to the oven
and checked. She then fixed a salad and pulled a bag of
French bread and put it in the oven. Jessy made her way up
the stairs, ditching the crutches and sliding up backwards
on her butt. Once at the top she crawled to her dresser and
got up. She got out clean panties and hopped to the closet
and got the dress out she had chosen. Jessy made her way to
the bathroom and ran a bath, she moaned as her leg came in
contact with the hot water. She almost fell asleep, "That'd
be cute blondie. Zac would freak break in and find you in
the tub and the cops come to find him and you in the tub.
Up girl." Jessy laughed and let the water out. She toweled
off, dried her hair, and hopped to her bed where she put on
her panties and pulled the sundress over her head. Jessy
adjusted the lacing on the front, the reason she bought the
dress, it pushed her boobs up and out if laced right. Jessy
clipped her hair up off her neck. At the closet she slipped
on a pair of sandals. Jessy headed to the stairs and sat
and slid most of the way down. "Wheee" she squealed, "OW OW
OW" she started bounching once she picked up speed. At the
bottom she rubbed her bottom and pulled her panties back to
their original position as the doorbell rang. Jessy wiped
the tears and tried to control herself as she made her way
to the door. "Hey Zac" is all she got out before she
cracked up. "What's so funny." Zac said. Jessy shared what
she went through just for him. "God Jessy you're a blast
without even trying." Zac said hugging her. "You look
beautiful." Zac said kissing her. The two headed to the
kitchen and finished dinner, Zac carried their plates onto
the patio, lit the torches and the enjoyed the night air.
"Jessy you don't feel good do you. Truth you don't have to
be strong for me." Zac said holding her hand. "No I don't,
I'm sorry." Jessy said tears filling her eyes. "Don't be
sorry, come here." Zac said pulling her to his lap. "You
sit here and rest. You sure you won't eat something?" Zac
asked as Jessy shook her head and rested it back against
his chest. In between bites, Zac rubbed her sore calf.
Jessy fell asleep in Zac's arm and he at dinner alone. When
he tried getting up she woke. "Oh how romantic, I sleep
through it all." Jessy complains. "Let's get you ready for
bed and take care of these dishes." Zac said Jessy carrying
the dishes and Zac carrying Jessy. The put the leftovers
away and loaded the dishwasher. Zac carried Jessy upstairs
and sat her on the foot of the bed. "What drawer and what
you sleeping in." Zac asked. "Top left drawer, white boxers
that say Zac, and a white tank that matches it. You're all
over me all night." Jessy laughed. "These are cute. I know
summer camp." Zac said. "Right" Jessy said as Zac handed
her the pajamas. "I'll turn around do you think you can
manage. You know I'll help you anyway I can." Zac said as
Jessy slipped out of her panties into her boxers and
unlaced the dress pulling it over her head and pulling the
tank over her head. "You can turn around." Jessy said.
"You're fast." Zac said. "Not much too it. Would you hang
this up for me and these go in the hamper in the bathroom,
oh never mind." Jessy said. "Give me your underwear, I'll
put them in the hamper." Zac said. "Anything else?" Zac
asked. "The bottom right drawer, get my boo boo blanket."
Jessy asked. "Oh dare I ask?" Zac laughed."It's my baby
blanket. It's so fuzzy and soft it makes me feel better."
Jessy said. "Oh Jessy you're so cute." Zac said handing her
the blanket lifting her and carrying her downstairs. They
sat on the couch, watching TV Jessy's leg on a heating pad.
Zac rubbed her calf and then got the ice pack. "The knot is
smaller. You may just survive this." Zac said. "You take
care such good care of me." Jessy said kissing him. She
kissed him again with more passion. Zac kissed her back,
drawing her to him his hand rubbing her calf. This time his
hand move up her leg higher and higher. They searched each
other's eyes, "Someday. Tonight you resting is all that's
important." Zac said. "I love you Zac Hanson." Jessy said
kissing him. "I know you do and it feels so good." Zac said
holding her tight. Tay and Chele came in, "Why it's only
10, I really scared you didn't I young man." Jessy teased.
"So how was the Italian restaurant?" Jessy asked. "We
didn't make it again. Take out and the park." Chele
laughed. "There lazagna left and it's good, want some Tay?"
Zac asked. "Yo man, I keep trying to eat Italian but just
don't make it." Tay said wrapping an arm around Chele.
"This one, keeps distracting me." Tay said. "Like you
mind." Chele said and you could tell from Tay's expression
her hand was busy out of view. "You want anything?" Zac
said "No my stomach still is queazy." Jessy said. The three
headed to the kitchen, zapped their leftovers and joined
Jessy for Rock and Jock Baseball. Jessy feel asleep again
and Zac turned the heating pad back on and putting it on
her calf. Zac carried Jessy up to bed while Tay said
goodbye to Chele. Zac pulled down the covers and laid Jessy
down, her eyes came open as he pulled his arms away. "I
don't sleep on this side." Jessy said. "Good cuz this is my
side." Zac said. "Well that explains it. Never could figure
out why I always slept on the right side of the bed, now I
know. I was destined to sleep with a left side of the bed."
Jessy said crawling back into Zac's arms. "Stay with me?"
Jessy asked. "Jessy I don't know. Tay's here." Zac said.
"And you're saying you think he wants to drive home instead
of staying here. NOT. Go ask him, then I'll know how I'm
getting to work. We can all go." Jessy said. "Okay I'll
ask." Zac said. Zac returned, "I don't know how to tell you
this, but can I wear the other Zac boxers?" Zac asked
smiling. "Why do you think I made two pairs." Jessy said.
She watched as Zac undressed in the dark, sliding on his
Zac boxers and coming to bed. "I promised him I'd be good
so we have to behave ourselves." Zac said. "Oh pooh." Jessy
complained. She her Tay and Chele head into Mom's room.
"Did you make Tay promise to behave? At least be safe?"
Jessy asked. "Oh Jessy, don't think about it. Come here,
you need sleep." Zac said holding her as they drifted off
to sleep in each other's arms.
