It all started when Mom was coming to pick Chele and Jessy up to go to their first Hanson Concert together. Chele and Jessy were listening to "Live From Albertane" to practice their screaming. Mom was unaffected by their screams, she had gotten used to it over the years. Just yesterday, they were at Chele's in West Virginia and Mom had come to pick them up so Chele could spend the rest of the summer with Jessy. Plans were changed when Barbara decided to spend an extra night with Chele's folks, instead of driving home then heading back east, the next day to Detroit. The girls were up super early, insisting they leave now. Barbara finally gave in and they loaded the van, and headed out. Before she even got on the highway, the girls were out cold. She drove in peace for the next three hours, they had just passed Columbus. Barbara decided to fuel up before getting into the Detroit traffic. "Girls. Come On sleepy heads. Pit Stop." Barbara yelled. "Where are we mommy?" Chele asked. "Just north of Columbus, Ohio about 2 hours max. You girls hungry?" Barbara answered. "I'm hungry Mom." Jessy said as Barbara pulled the van into the gas station. She handed the girls $20 and said "Run next door to McDonalds and get yourself breakfast. I'm fine." and she fueled the van. Barbara was done and waiting on the girls as she noticed the white van pulling out of the drive thru "Thank god Jessy isn't here she'd have to scream at it because it's white, and if it's white, it could be." she thought to herself laughing. A few minutes later the girls were in the van and they were headed north again. By now the girls were getting into their concert groove. They were watching the "Road To Albertane" Tape. They were painting their finger and toe nails blue, green and red. Barbara noticed a white extended van in the distance and prayed, "Please don't let Jessy notice." The girls decided it was time to get into their 'I'm In The MOE' tees and without thinking, Jessy pulled off the shirt she was wearing, revealing her homemade Hanson bra. Barbara heard a honk and checked the rear view mirrors to see what was up. When Jessy stood after finding her MOE, Mom noticed as she was sliding it over her head and horns blared everywhere. "Jessy for Christ's sake sit, we'll have every semi within forty miles following us." Chele sat as she pulled off hers and put on her MOE. It had gotten quiet, no screams in a minute or two, Barbara was searching the rear view mirror to find that Chele was braiding Jessy's hair. "You're going to the concert in corn rows?" she asked. "I don't know. I figure I'll standout this afternoon maybe they'll notice." Jessy answered. "Give it your best shot. Stand out above the crowd. Get their attention. And my girls will sell themselves." Mom said as she noticed the white van passing again. They were somewhere between Toledo and Detroit when Barbara noticed the white extended van signaling and heading for the shoulder of the road in the distance. "Yes or No" she asked. "What?" the girls asked. "Just Yes or No" Mom insisted. "Yes they answered. Now what's the question." the girls asked. "Do we do An Act Of Kindness?" Mom told them signaling and heading to the shoulder. She finally made it thru traffic to the shoulder and backed up closer to the van to the complaints of the girls. "If it was us, wouldn't you want someone to stop so you could get there before the concert?" Mom asked. "Oh I hate it when you right." Jessy said. "Me too mommy, make it quick." Chele said. Barbara crawled out the passenger side and headed back to the van. "Hey can I help. We've been chasing each other all morning, I feel like I already know you." she laughed. "I have this sinking feeling I'm out of gas even though it shows half full." the driver said. "GMC probably a bad gauge." Barbara said walking to the back of the van and hanging on to the bumper slid under and kicked. "So you out of gas now?" she asked. "That did it." he said. "Lucky you a full load of kids. Oh are we in trouble if you have hair down to your butt. Diana?" Barbara asked. "Yes, Mother of Hanson fans?" Diana said. "Yes, Mother of Hanson. It's Barbara, and I have two in the van, so if you have ear plugs I'd put them in. Walker, we're headed the same place. We even got a room for the night, special treat for the girls. I'd offer to go get gas, but I'd hate to chance this highway traffic. Did you call an auto service?" Barbara asked. "Yes it'll be an hour at least." Walker said. "Whoa. Tell you what, you can probably get everyone in my van and I'll stay here with yours." Barbara said. "I can't let you do that." Walker said. "Oh I'm not being that nice, for one hour I get peace and quiet and you get my two girls. Maybe it'll take two hours." Barbara laughed.
