Thinking Of You

Part Eleven

"Isaac I need you to do something for me?" Alicia asked as he pulled into her driveway. "You know I'll do anything for you. What you need babe?" Isaac asked. "I want you to go home and enjoy your family okay?" Alicia asked as Isaac interrupted, "No way. Are you crazy? I'm not leaving you alone. What if you had another, another..." He was at a loss for the right words. "Yeah what if? Isaac I heard your mother. What if it had been your two year old sister, or five year old brother, even Zac or Tay. Your mother could barely handle what I've become and I'm not taking a chance on it happening in front of a fan or God forbid a reporter. I couldn't handle a picture of me having a seizure on the front of every rag in the country. I just can't. I need you to go home and forget about me." Alicia finished as she unbuckled her seatbelt and quickly made her way into the house, locking the door behind her. "No. Alicia let me in. Please talk to me?" Isaac begged, knocking on the door. "You said you'd do anything for me. Prove it. Go home without making this harder on me. I'm putting on my headset now, I won't be able to hear you. I'm sorry Isaac, I just can't do this anymore." Alicia answered moving her headset to her ears as she heard him say, "God don't let this happen. She's everything to me. Please don't let this happen." He sat on the porch, sitting in the swing, praying for what seemed like forever to Alicia. After fifteen or twenty minutes he finally rose, looked at the house, the picket fence before slowly making his was to his car and pulled out of her drive. "Isaac." Alicia cried as she fell to her knees and slowly rocked back and forth. When the tears finally stopped she rose and started cleaning and scrubbng. She was on her knees, scrubbng the entryway floor when the doorbell rang, "Hello." she answered, opening the door, adding,"Oh no." as she was faced with Diana Hanson. "Dear may I come in?" she asked. "I guess it was too much to ask that this would just be over. Come in but watch the floor, it's what I do when I can't handle things, I scrub." Alicia answered. "It's usually my answer too." Diana said grabbing a rag and kneeling, scrubbng the floor. "You don't have to." Alicia argued. "Yeah I do. You see I can't deal with the hurt on my son's face. He is at home devasted that you asked him to leave you because I, I.... You have to know I'm sorry. I didn't mean for you to think I thought.... Alicia it's just I couldn't believe that you were dealing with all of this you know. My God, Ashley has no idea what he has done. I can't believe that he is capable of such devastation but I promise you he will know. I'm headed there after I've apologized to you." Diana said while scrubbng away, continuing, "Aicia I wish you'd reconsider what you've asked him to do. He loves you so. I honestly don't think he'll be able to go on without you, not my little romantic. He has searched for you for so long now and he believes you are his one and only love. If you do this, he'll have no reason to go on. I mean he will live but I don't think he will ever be happy again without you. I don't think he will ever sing again without you. Alicia you are his reason for living, don't you know that?" Alicia listened patiently as she scrubbed the same spot over and over. "I love him that's why I want him to leave me. I just can't do this. Living in fear of another episode and terrifying some young child, or being found out by a reporter. I can't do that to Isaac." Alicia insisted. "Dear don't you think that's Isaac's choice to make." Diana asked. "What? I"m the one having convulsions." Alicia argued. "That's right. You are the one having the convulsion but he is the one being hurt." Diana shared scrubbing her way to the door, adding, "Promise me you'll just think about this. Dear I wasn't repulsed by what I saw. I was hurt and angry with Ashley. He's in that nice comfortable clinic we put him in and you are out here dealing with what he did. I won't stand for it. He will hear from me how angry I am with his poor choices and I plan on letting him know exactly what he's done." Alicia was speechless. "We love you sweetie, especially Isaac. Alicia you deserve good things to happen to you only and Isaac's love for you is a good thing. I can understand you being afraid of what others think, the fans, the press, us but I remember you saying that what Isaac thinks is the only thing that matters. Alicia, Isaac does not think leaving you is the right thing to do. He thinks he should love you and take care of you until the end of time." Diana said rising, tossing the rag back in the bucket before she kissed her goodbye and left. Alicia was still speechless, her mind going over everything she'd said as she scrubbed the floor. The ringing phone scared her and she kicked the bucket making a huge mess. She ran for a towel to soak up the water as the machine answered. "Alicia please pick up and talk to me. I can't let it end, this way or anyway. Talk to me please." Isaac asked such sorrow in his voice, her heart broke. "Isaac hang on. I made a huge mess and i'm trying to clean it up." Alicia asked laying the phone on the hall table and returning to her mess. "A little bit longer I have to get another towel." Alicia yelled as she raced off and returned to finish cleaning up. "One more minute while I take the towels to the laundry room." she hollered as she raced down the hall. "I'm back. Sorry I was a real klutz. I did manage to get the rest of the floor done as I cleaned up my mess though." Alicia explained. "So you clean when you're confused huh?" Isaac asked with hardly any emotion. "Isaac I'm sorry, I just didn't know what else to do. It still terrifies me but this wise woman reminded me that I had said the only thing that mattered to me was what you think. How could I forget that Isaac? How could I worry about fans or the press before I worried about you? I'm so scared though." Alicia shared heaving a big sigh. "Don't you love me anymore?" Isaac asked with hesitation but without emotion. "Isaac of course I love you still. I'll always love you. That's why I asked you to leave because I do love you and I can't bare the thought of causing you more trouble, or any embarassment because of what I am now." Alicia answered. "So what. The press will always find something to write about babe. We can't let them dictate our lives. I asked you to let me deal with it, let me take care of you." Isaac insisted. "But Isaac." is all she got out before he interrupted. "I know you love my butt babe, but this is a serious conversation, you should pay attention to it not my butt." Isaac teased causing her to giggle. "Alicia I know I promised you I'd do anything for you, but I can't do this. Please don't ask me." Isaac pleaded. "Isaac I'm sorry I asked you to leave. I guess I should have told you how scared I was and asked what you thought instead of deciding on my own. Oh Isaac your Mom, she said she was so angry with Ash and was on her way to confront him, telling him" Alicia shared and with a gasp, "what he's done to me." "She what? When?" Isaac asked and she could tell he had no idea of her plans. "She just left here hun. She came to apologize for earlier and wanted me to know that it wasn't me she was shocked by it was her anger towards Ash. She's headed to him next and is going to tell him what his done." Alicia explained. "Then she will. Good. I'm glad he'll know. Babe are you not mad at me now?" Isaac asked. "Isaac I wasn't mad at you. I'm so sorry for not talking to you. I'm still so scared. There's just so much I don't have the answers to and that scares me." Alicia tried to explain. "What scares you babe?" Isaac asked. "Just about everything. You know, like will I lose my front teeth, will I always be afraid except when I'm in your arms, or will the seizures stop. Isaac?" Alicia answered. "Yeah babe." Isaac replied. "Isaac I don't think the seizures are from my injuries. You know the last couple happened because I was angry or scared. Isn't that wonderful to hear. Now I'm a basket case." Alicia explained. "No you're not a basket case babe, you're my basket case." Isaac teased. "Oh that makes me feel so much better." Alicia replied laughing, then adding, "Isaac are you still mad at me?" "Babe I never was mad at you. I Iove you Alicia." Isaac answered. They talked until Alicia tired, "Isaac are the girls coming home tonight?" Alicia asked. "I'm not sure. Jessy and Zac are still riding dirt bikes babe and Chele and Tay headed to the movies." Isaac answered. "Oh so you're sort of alone huh?" Alicia asked. "Yeah sort of." Isaac replied. "Isaac I remember you asking me out as soon as I got better. Do you think.." Alicia was asking as Isaac interrupted, "I'm on my way," He arrived at her door about fifteen minutes later. "Isaac" Alicia squealed as she ran from the house into his arms. "God I can't believe I thought I would survive without you in my life. I'm so sorry I even suggested it." she said as she clung to him. Isaac twirled them as she squealed with glee. "So where do you want to go on our real first date?" Isaac asked. "Umm I saw an ad for the Admiral Twin Drive-In. They're holding a 50's Retro Marathon all weekend, people are even dressing the part." Alicia shared. "Sounds like fun. Do you have something you could wear?" Isaac asked. "Well since I'm you basket case, I can answer this truthfully, Yes Isaac I easily can dress the part. I have a poodle skirt, angora sweather and saddle shoes. I also have capris, a boat necked blouse and flats. Or there is dress that makes me look like a brunette Marilyn Monroe but not quite as blessed." Alicia answered. "You would my little basket case. Well I'm wearing rolled cuff blue jeans, a bowling shirt, shades and my hair slicked back. You decide." Isaac shared. "What color bowling shirt?" Alicia asked. "Pink." Isaac answered. "Pink? Isaac a pink shirt?" Alicia asked giggling. "Stop with the giggling. It's Pinkie's Car Wash as the sponsor." Isaac insisted, as he placed his lips on hers, kissing her deeply to stop the giggling. "Aaaahh I love your kisses. I love you." Alicia moaned. "I'm running back home and changing. You get ready for our first official date. Can't wait to see if I get you out of your panties again." Isaac teased. "Isaac Hanson." Alicia squealed, quickly adding, "I can't wait." Isaac kissed her tenderly and headed out.
