"Zac. Jessy... Jessy...Zac." they heard. "Hun that's your brother calling. Did you hear." Jessy asked turning in his arms to face him. "I heard it too. Didn't you babe?" Chele asked. "Yeah baby. That's Ike calling. See what he wants." Taylor suggested. "Me see. You see. You're older." Zac argued. "Yeah but he called you." Taylor insisted. "Only because he doesn't know you're here." Zac continued to argue. "Oh give me a break." Jessy said pushing away from Zac and heading to the door to Alexandra's room, peeking inside. "Did you want something Ike?" Jessy asked. "Too chicken to check huh?" Isaac joked. "Both brothers. Tay and Chele are here too. She looks so peaceful." Jessy shared. "She is. Jessy do you think you could get me something to wear besides hospital gowns?" Alexandra asked resting against Isaac's chest. "Beat you to it. I packed you some things when we packed a bag for Isaac. Here it is." Jessy said retrieving the suitcase and pulling out a nightgown, robe and slippers, adding, "I brought your own shampoo, brush, dryer and just about everything but the kitchen sink. If you need it I'll send Zac after it." Jessy teased. "Oh I've missed you." Alexandra confessed laughing deeply. "We've missed you too Lexy. I am so grateful you and the baby are okay." Jessy replied fighting the tears. "Don't cry babe. She's going to be okay." Zac said entering the room when he heard her crying. "You got it bad bro. You won't come in when I call you, asking you to come in but let her whimper and you don't care about nothing else huh?" Isaac teased. "You love me." Jessy cried. "Yeah babe I love you more than the fear of walking in on the two of them you know whating." Zac confessed. "You goofball. You honestly think I'd call you in if I was still making love to Lex? Get real. No wonder we call you Whacky Zacky." Isaac teased. "Yeah I guess you're right. I didn't think." Zac admitted, adding, "You look good there where you belong Sis." "I love you too. Zac I'm hungry, really hungry and I want pizza." Alexandra suggested. "Anything Sis. You just ask." Zac answered. "I just did silly." Alexandra teased and they all laughed except this time Alexandra flinched in pain. "Okay. I think I got it." Zac admitted before calling and ordering pizza for the six of them. "I'm going with Zac to pick up the pizzas. Need anything else?" Jessy asked and the two headed out after the food. "You okay babe?" Isaac asked concerned over her being in pain. "Chels." Alexandra called out. "Yeah Lex. What do you need?" Chele answered. "I need you to make a list for me. My aches and pains. First and biggest pain is to the right of my left ear. Second my left ear. There's a pain inside worse than any earache I've ever had and... I don't think I can hear from it. And...." she paused, "I can see but not clearly." Alexandra admitted fighting the tears, composing herself before finishing. "It's like when you first wakeup and everything is out of focus. Well I can't seem to focus." "Got it Lex. You want me to find your Doctor?" Chele asked trying to be brave. "I'll go with you babe. We'll be back. Why don't you get her in the shower bro." Taylor suggested as he watched his older brother struggling with what he'd just learned. "Huh?" Isaac mumbled his attention returning to the rest of them. "Great idea Tay. You know Isaac this is probably the longest Lex has ever gone without washing her hair. I see Jessy put in her favorite shampoo. We'll tell the nurses so they don't bother you two." Chele suggested. "Would you like that babe?" Isaac asked caressing his wife. "I'd love it but I was afraid to ask you." Alexandra whispered. "Afraid to ask me. Lex you can't do this to me. You have to talk to me, let me help you. Please Lex don't shut me out." Isaac pleaded as Taylor took Chele's hand and led her from the room. "I don't mean to. It's just.. I'm so afraid this is all too much for you to handle." Alexandra whispered. "What? Lex I love you remember 'For better, For worse, In sickness and in health" I meant it Lex." Isaac insisted. "I know it in my heart hun but my head really hurts and I just don't know sometimes." Alexandra replied beginning to cry. "Crying because of physical pain or emotional pain." Isaac whispered kissing the top of her head. "Emotions. I don't know what I did to deserve you loving me the way you do." Alexandra whimpered taking his hand and placing it on her belly, adding, "I love you for this. For taking care of both of us." "I love you Lex. I gotta tell you something. Lex try not to get angry with me okay?" Isaac asked suddenly so serious. "I, I... I can only try Isaac. You have to remember I still hurt and sometimes I'm reacting to that not you." Alexandra said looking up at him, quickly shielding her eyes, mumbling, "Bad idea." "You okay Lex?" Isaac gasped suddenly full of fear. "Man I can feel you tensing up. I'm sorry." Alexandra choked out as she started to cry. "Lex you okay? I'm lost on this one. Is it me or pain?" Isaac asked. "Both Isaac. My eyes hurt and you can be such a pain." Alexandra teased. "I am not." Isaac argued as he began to laugh. "Real sweet. I'm in pain and you laugh because I call you a pain." Alexandra tried to complain but laughed with him instead before adding, "I love you for making me laugh." "Come on Lex, let's go take a shower." Isaac suggested slipping from bed then picking her up and carrying her to the bathroom. "I could get used to this." Alexandra said kissing him deeply. Isaac helped her shower and wash her hair. "I can't believe I'm this weak. How long was I out?" Alexandra asked totally shocked by the weeks that had passed since the attack. When the others returned the six sat enjoying pizza and catching up. "Hey I almost forgot. Zac where are those sunglasses?" Jessy asked watching Alexandra squint one more time. "I think they're in your purse." Zac answered reaching for her purse. "Get them and give them to Lexy. Please hun, I've got greasy hands." Jessy said taking Zac's piece of pizza. "Man I must love you." Zac said shaking his head. "That doesn't sound like you love me." Jessy pouted. "I must babe. I would have beaten anyone else for taking my pizza." Zac said finding the glasses and handing them to his brother. "Here let me. Try this Lex. Maybe your eyes won't hurt so much." Jessy suggested placing the sunglasses on her head as she began laughing. "What's so funny?" Chele asked. "Us. Look at us. Zac gets in my purse. You finish Tay's sentences most of the time. And look at Isaac sound asleep while we're eating. We're pathetic." Jessy answered. "These are great! It doesn't hurt so bad." Alexandra squealed with delight, gasping, "Poor baby. This has been so hard on you." Alexandra took the piece of pizza from Isaac's hand and as she leaned to put it on the nightstand she gasped, "Oh my God, it's not even 7pm and he's sound asleep. We are pathetic. Man I thought Rock Stars were party animals." "Yeah. I thought Rock Stars were suppose to be such bad boys." Jessy added. "Taylor wake up." Chele squealed as Taylor laid his head on her shoulder. "Huh? What?" Taylor mumbled. "You're right. We are pathetic." Chele replied. "What? We're pathetic? Why?" Taylor asked waking back up. "You had to wake up at 7pm to find out why we're pathetic. Duh!!" Chele teased. "Give us a break. Isaac's had it bad. I bet just the fact that Lex is better, you know awake... Man that's got to be such a relief, I think I'd crash too." Zac shared. "Babe I'm sorry. Honest Zac I didn't mean it that way." Jessy apologized puzzled by the tone in his voice. "Huh?" Zac said turning to her. "I'm sorry Zac." Jessy repeated. "Why Babe?" Zac asked. "You sounded so hurt that I teased." Jessy explained. "What? Nah. It's just.. Well I was thinking what it must have been like for Ike when Lex.. You know." Zac replied almost whispering. "Oh. Oh yeah." Jessy agreed. "You know Lex you should probably take it easy too. You need help with him?" Taylor asked. "You're probably right. No I think I'll enjoy undressing him for bed." Alexandra replied, adding, "Tay? I. Would you.. Oh never mind." "What do you need?" Taylor asked. "Nothing." Alexandra answered looking away. "Sis what?" Taylor asked sternly. "It's just. Well I should probably go to the bathroom before I go to bed. I'm sure I can..." Alexandra started to explain. "He'd never forgive me if anything happened to either one of you. You know that. Let me give you a lift." Taylor insisted making his way to her. "You get her in there and I'll stay with her." Chele said heading to the bathroom opening the door and turning on the light. As Taylor lifted her from the bed, "Lex. Lex." Isaac called out waking, sensing she was missing. "Hun it's okay. Tay's giving me a lift to the bathroom." Alexandra replied. "She's okay bro. Relax." Zac said reaching out to reassure him. "Man I must have fallen asleep." Isaac said shaking his head. "Yep. We were just joking about it." Jessy shared. "No pictures right? Please tell me no pictures. Lex you didn't." Isaac called out to her. "Darn. Head must still be fuzzy because I just missed a golden oppportunity didn't I?" Alexandra hollered back as Chele opened the door for Taylor to give her a lift back to bed. Within a few days, Alexandra was stronger and begging to return home. "Lex just be patient please?" Isaac pleaded again. "Please. I promise to rest, take it easy, whatever." Alexandra argued, suddenly mumbling, "Oh never mind. I don't blame you." "What did you say?" Isaac asked not believing what he'd heard. "Nothing." Alexandra answered turning away from him, returning to bed. "Alexandra Hanson." Isaac scowled. "Isaac Hanson." Alexandra echoed. "Baby what is it?" Isaac asked sitting on the edge of the bed, taking her hands in his, gazing into her eyes. "It's just... I know this has been hard on you and I..." Alexandra tried to explain. "Lex this has been harder on you. I don't hear you complaining so stop making excuses for me." Isaac pleaded. "I'm not. Well maybe I am. I don't know." Alexandra mumbled wincing in pain. "Lex what is it? You haven't been in pain in days, why now?" Isaac asked confused by it all. "I don't know. I think I'm going to be sick." Alexandra squealed racing to the bathroom as Isaac buzzed for a nurse. "Yes. Hello. Here we are. When did this start?" the nurse asked as she entered. "Just a minute ago. She was asking to go home and we sort of butted heads. Next thing I know she's tossing her cookies." Isaac answered tending to Alexandra. "Maybe it's something she ate." the nurse answered trying to reassure them. "You know... she didn't eat this morning. Lex were you not feel good earlier?" Isaac asked. "What? No I don't think.. You know I wasn't hungry was I. I felt full. Huh." Alexandra answered. "You know, this reminds me of before we knew about you know who." Isaac shared gently stroking her belly. "Man all I did was barf." Alexandra moaned cuddling into his arms suddenly uncomfortable. "What is it babe?" Iaac asked. "I don't know. It's different. It's... I think it's the baby moving. Nah it's too soon right?" Alexandra asked looking at the nurse. "Not really dear. As small as you are it's very possible that you would feal the baby's movements." the nurse answered. "There it is again. Feel Isaac." Alexandra shared grabbing Isaac's hand and placing it over the spot she had the feelings. "Yeah there it is. Cool. Lex what's wrong?" Isaac asked her tears. "It's okay. Isaac the baby's okay." Alexandra cried out. "Of course the baby's okay. You knew that. Right Lex?" Isaac asked. "I know you said but... I've just worried is all. But the baby's okay." Alexandra reiterated. "Yeah babe the baby is okay. Now what about you?" Isaac asked. "I want to go home. Isaac please. We could stay with your folks if you want. I just want out of here okay?" Alexandra pleaded. "Let's see what the Doctor has to say and yeah we can go home." Isaac said as Alexandra squealed with joy. The two soon returned home and with the help of Chele and Jessy, Alexandra grew stronger and healthier every day. Isaac once again joined his brothers working on songs for the next album.
