Part Four

"Two for breakfast." Zac informed the hostess as they entered. "Hun I'm...." Jessy started to say before Zac finished, "Going in there. Do you know what you want babe?" "You." Jessy giggled kissing him sweetly before answering, "A waffle I think. Strawberry. Milk to drink. Oh and I love you." When she finished in the bathroom, "Wonder where he is." Jessy whispered looking around for him. "Hey sweetie. Your honey went into the men's room. Your table is over here." the waitress shared. "Thanks." Jessy said following her to their table. "He sure is sweet." the waitress insisted. 'You don't have to sell me. I already think he's about it." Jessy sighed and learned that Zac had already placed their order. On his way to her, Zac stopped and put money in the juke box. "I'll see what his taste in music is." Jessy thought, mumbling, "Rock huh. Sure isn't Tim McGraw." "Hey that's my side of the booth." Zac shared as he approached. "I know. This way you'll have to sit next to me and I can have my way with you." Jessy teased. "Lucky me." Zac declared kissing her before sliding in beside her as the waitress returned with their drinks. They were getting to know each other better when the waitress returned with their orders. "Here you go sweetie." she said placing Jessy's order in front of her. "How sweet. I love you too." Jessy squealed looking at her waffle with an I, a heart, and a U on it in whipped cream. "You are so good to me." Jessy whispered overcome by the jesture. "Don't cry babe." Zac whispered wrapping his arm around her. "They're happy tears. You make me so happy. I can't remember being this happy and I was a happy kid." Jessy shared, adding, "Momma says so." "I wish I'd known you then. Can you imagine us meeting when we were little, meant for each other and still going strong instead of just finally finding each other." Zac asked. "That's a wonderful thought but I'm just so grateful I've found you now. I love you more than I ever thought was possible." Jessy declared gazing deep into his brown eyes as she caressed his face. After what seemed an eternity, Jessy slowly traced his lips with her thumb, smiling contentedly as he kissed it over and over. "Babe you know I love you too right?" Zac asked. "Uh huh. You love me and I love you." Jessy said leaning towards him and kissing him sweetly. "Babe remember last night my brothers showed up about an offer that came in we'd been waiting on?" Zac asked turning from her look. "Yeah good old Beavis and Butthead interrupted our first adventure. I remember, why?" Jessy asked concerned that he looked away. Determined to keep her cool, Jessy turned back to her waffle and began to eat instead of think about what bad news was coming her way. "Jessy. Jessy." Zac said trying to get her attention. "Want some?" Jessy offered lifting a fork full of waffle. "Jessy I need to tell you something." Zac insisted shaking his head no to the waffle. "I'm sure you do. Let's see, I can't see you anymore. No it's the It's been great but I've found someone else speech." Jessy teased devouring her waffle. "You're not funny." Zac complained. "Sorry. How's this?" Jessy said putting her fork down, turning to him, giving him her undivided attention. "Jessy this is serious." Zac insisted. "I'm sorry. I just got nervous about what you were going to say. You wouldn't look at me, so I assumed that it was bad news and I figured I'd try to beat you to the dumpline." Jessy explained sorrowfully. "I'm sorry. I didn't look at you Jessy because.. Um babe you gotta promise you won't laugh okay?" Zac asked. "What? No way and miss out." Jessy giggled, adding, "I'm sorry. Sure I promise I won't laugh." Jessy sat up straight and paid attention. "Babe I wasn't looking at you because it's hard to look at you with clothes on. I mean that was a beautiful sight and it's such a shame to cover it up." Zac explained lifting a hand and gently caressing her breast. "I don't believe you. You are so totally sweet." Jessy said starting to cry again, whimpering, "I'm not laughing." "I still can't believe you would think I'd dump you. Jessy that ain't never gonna happen. I love you. I want to marry you some day Jessy. I'd never let you go." Zac insisted. "I know that, I truly do but I just didn't... My heart knows that you love me more than anything but my head, now that's a different story." Jessy choked out laying her head on his shoulder, grabbing her napkin and wiping her tears. "I love you. Don't cry." Zac whispered kissing the top of her head. "I'll stop. Now you were going to tell me something." Jessy whimpered. "Well my brothers and I got this offer and we had some questions on it so now we have to go to New York City to get them answered." Zac started and explained. "Oh negotiations huh?" Jessy asked, adding, "I bet you drive a hard bargain." "How'd you know? That's why my brothers always ask my opinion Jessy." Zac asked shocked at her perception. "Oh that was a no brainer hun. Remember me, half naked, begging you to make love to me and what do you do? You drive a hard bargain dear, I must marry you to get you to make love to me." Jessy answered raising her head and smiling at him then kissing his forehead, adding, "My shrewd businessman." "Oh Jessy I love you so much. The way you think. You are priceless. That my dear was the best deal I've ever negotiated." Zac insisted kissing her deeply before explaining what was up. "You know hun, this really is perfect timing. I mean I can use this time to work on the impossible Last Wish. I sure hope some of your ability rubs off on me." Jessy teased rubbing up against him. "You keep that up and we're going to be tossed out of here." Zac teased back. The two finished breakfast and Zac took Jessy home before returning home himself. During Zac's business trip to New York, the two e-mailed each other everyday, whenever they thought about the other person and Zac would call her every night. "I guess you really missed me today. I'm sorry babe, it was hectic today. We made headway though and we ought to be able to wrap this up soon." Zac said as Jessy answered her ringing phone. "I miss you so much. I'm sorry hun I'm just having a bad day." Jessy shared then explained Lucy's taking a turn for the worse and her not making any headway on the Last Wish. "I have faith in you babe. You'll figure it out." Zac replied. "Faith. That's it Faith. Tim. He'll be able to help me. You are so wonderful. You always have the right answer. When you get home, I am going to thank you properly." Jessy squealed. "I don't think I've ever been thanked properly before. Thanks babe. This is great incentive to finish this deal and get back home to you." Zac suggested. "Back where you belong." Jessy declared and he could hear her starting to cry. "I miss you too. Jessy?" Zac replied. "What?" Jessy whimpered. "When are you going to marry me. I don't think I can wait too long Jessy. I keep undressing you in my mind babe and it's getting a little embarassing. You know I'm suppose to be contemplating their offer and instead I think about you. I drooled all over their offer and to cover up the fact I wasn't giving any thought it, just you, I had to crumble up the paper. Turned out okay because I got up to go to the bathroom because of you and they thought I was pissed about their offer and was leaving. While I was out of the room, Old Butthead goes "Man now he's peeved. Let me see if I can talk him into coming back." They came through with some good changes and we're real close to closing now." Zac explained. "I'm sorry. Honest hun I'm not laughing at you." Jessy said as she burst into laughter. "Jessy it's not funny. It wasn't easy getting out of there without everyone knowing how much I want you. You sure you're not laughing at me." Zac asked joining her laughter. "I don't think I can wait to marry you either. Seventeen though. We'll be married forever." Jessy shared when she finally stopped laughing and thought how great they were together, quickly gasping, "Oh I think I'm gonna cry." "At least seventy, eighty years babe. Do you think you can put up with me that long?" Zac teased. "Do you think I can stand making love to you over the next seventy, eighty years? Oh yeah. You won't get any complaints from me." Jessy insisted. "I promise Jessy no matter how busy I get, I'll always make time for you. For Us." Zac promised. "I don't think I could stand too many of these separations. That old 'Absence makes the heart grow fonder' is wrong. I miss you so much, I cry myself to sleep after we hang up." Jessy confessed as she began to cry once again. "Baby why didn't you tell me?" Zac asked feeling guilty. "Because you'd feel bad and I know you'd be here if you could. Honest I do, it's just..." Jessy tried to explain. "It's just what Jessy?" Zac asked her silence. "You know I always thought of myself as a strong person. You know not much throws me for a loop. Like with Lucy, I mean I didn't think twice about changing my entire life because she needed someone to be with her that understands. You know her own age. I've always stood up for what I believed in. Even when it was unpopular. But now. Now all I want is for you to hold me in your arms. There is where I know everything is going to be okay. Your arms is where I feel safe." Jessy shared. "You are safe there. Safe and loved. Jessy you are a strong woman. I mean I could tell right away, not much threw you. You were so confident of yourself." Zac replied. "Whoa. What happened to me? From confident to needy. No not needy. Dependent. Nah. I know from confident to horny. That's what's different. Before you I never thought about you know what. And now it's all I think about. Me and you and you know whating. All since you told me no, I have to marry you. That's when it happened. I'm half naked begging you to you know what and you tell me I have to marry you. Well you know what?" Jessy asked excitedly. "I'm afraid to ask. What Jessy?" Zac asked tentatively. "I can't wait to marry you so we can you know what the rest of our lives." Jessy sighed. "Me too babe." Zac echoed. For the first time since he'd left her, Jessy had no trouble sleeping. She woke the next morning ready to take on the world and that she did. After writing to Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and a bunch of other celebrities, Jessy designed a flyer all about Lucy and her Last Wish to meet Hanson. She headed to a printers and soon was hitting the streets of Tulsa, talking to anyone, everyone, handing out flyers and telling them of her dream to grant her cousin her dying wish. Jessy asked each person to copy the flyer and pass it on, sharing her plight. "I'm betting on sooner or later, someone who knows Hanson will be handed this flyer making Lucy's dream come true." Jessy shared over and over. For the next few days Jessy rose early, covering the Malls, the Parks, even standing in the Drive Thru lanes of the Fast Food Restaurants throughout the city. As she pulled into the drive in the wee hours of the morning, "I can't believe I haven't met Hanson or someone who knows them. Almost 25,000 flyers and nothing." Jessy mumbled too tired to move. She contemplated sleeping in the car as the DJ announced Tim McGraw appearing in Oklahoma City, "That's tonight. I wonder if I can get to him." Jessy said suddenly wide awake. On the back of a flyer she wrote a note to her Aunt explaining her trip to Oklahoma City in hopes of getting to Tim McGraw and his being able to help which she quietly snuck into the house and placed on the kitchen table, turning back around and leaving. "Who knows how long it'll take me to get there. Besides the sooner I get there, the sooner I can track Tim down." Jessy mumbled as she backed out of the drive and headed south. What Jessy didn't know was on the kitchen table, next to the note she'd left for her Aunt Kathy, there was a note for her, telling her that a call from the Grandfather of Hanson had been received. Her Aunt Kathy took the call and had a pleasant conversation. "Jessy you did it. You made Lucy's dream come true. Hanson is out of town right now but their Grandfather Lawyer promised to call, arrange a meeting and call back." the note said. Besides the note on the table, in her e-mail was a letter from Zac telling her that he would be home in two days.
