Five thirty am and Zac was back up, Zoe had stirred but went back to sleep when Zac patted her back. Five forty-five and still staring at the ceiling, "Jessy I need you." Zac whispered thinking everything woud be okay if he just saw her smile. He thought he heard something and listened carefully. It was Jessy singing, he was sure, making his way to the kitchen he noticed her coming from the stairs, "Lying in your arms, so close together, Didn't know what I just had, Now I toss and turn, Cuz I'm not with you, Where was my head, Where was my heart, Now I cry alone in the dark, I lie awake, I drive myself crazy, drive myself crazy, thinking of you. Made a mistake, when I let you go baby, I drive myself crazy Wanting you the way that I do... Oh Zac, Hey. Hun what's wrong. You don't look like you slept too well. I'm sorry. I slept so good for a change." Jessy said slipping her arms around him and hugging him. "Oh Jessy everythings okay now." Zac said hugging her back. "Jessy I like that song, what's it called." Zac asked. "I'm not sure, it's by N'sync probably "Drive Myself Crazy" Jessy answered. "Sounds like my night." Zac said. "Did you lie awake and drive yourself crazy?" Jessy asked. "Yeah I just stared at the ceiling thinking this was Jessy's floor, tossed and turn, thinking of you. Then your sisters came down right as I was finally falling to sleep, so I joined their fridge raid. We talked a long time. They're crazy, but I bet you already knew that." Zac said. "Crazy huh, I think Weird covers them better. What they do is crazy, insane but to come up with it, is weird." Jessy said. "You're funny in the morning." Zac said. "Zac hun you're just tired, I think everything is funny to you. You ought to try and lay down sweetie, get some sleep." Jessy said. "No I did rather be here." Zac said. "How about if I sat with you until you fell asleep." Jessy offered. "You'd do that?" Zac asked. "Of course I would. Zac I care about you." Jessy said. "You do?" Zac asked. "You do need sleep, you don't remember what I said. Zac I told you I've loved you for a long time." Jessy said. "I know you did, I remembered, I just thought maybe loved meant past tense." Zac said. "Oh Zac even if it was past tense, it couldn't stay that way after the way you kissed me. Remember that?" Jessy asked and they both smiled, lost in each others eyes. 'Yeah that was something all right. I guess you're right, you didn't kiss me in the past tense." Zac said. "No that definitely was present tense kissing. I was there." Jessy smiled. "Yeah you were, that was the reason I lied awake. You were kissing me back." Zac said. "Oh now if I hadn't kissed you back. you would have been able to sleep. Oh this is difficult, I can't kiss you back at night because you can't sleep if I do. So in the morning, I can kiss you back?" Jessy said. "Huh? No you can always kiss me back.You better." Zac warned. "I better huh? Jessy smiled. "Oh Zac I really think you better get some sleep. Come on let me put you to bed." Jessy said taking his hand and leading him back to his bed, pulling the covers back, "Now lay down." Jessy told him and Zac slid into the bed and laid down. Jessy laid the covers over him and sat down next to him. She stroked his hair, gazing at him. "Jessy what are you looking at?" Zac asked. "You silly. I think you're gorgeous, are guys gorgeous Zac. If they are than that's what I think of you." Jessy said. "I know you're gorgeous." Zac said. "Thanks Zac, close your eyes now." Jessy said leaning and kissing each of his eyes shut, then kissing his forehead. "Good night Zac" Jess whispered stroking his hair gently as his breathing slowed. "He's going to sleep. Wow" she thought. Jessy sat another fifteen minutes watching him sleep before she kissed his forehead one last time and made her way to the kitchen, warming a bagel and pouring a glass of juice. "Hey Zoe, you waked up huh? Did Zac wake up." Jessy asked and Zoe stretched her arms to be picked up. Jessy bent down picked her up and cuddled her walking to the door and seeing Zac still sleeping so they returned and she fixed her a bowl of cereal and cinnamon and sugar toast and a glass of milk. After they ate, Jessy grabbed a banana for Zoe and they headed to her room. Zoe took a bath while Jessy dressed then she got Zoe out and put one of her tee shirts on her. Jessy put on the fake tattoo rings on her neck, and arm. The fake piercings in her belly, nose, and eyebrow. She unbraided her hair, teased a little and sprayed a lot. She decided to stop when Zoe started to stare. They made their was to Mom and Ken's room, "You awake" she called rapping on the door. "Come in sweetie." Ken said. "Morning, she's still asleep? Sick?" Jessy asked "No just up late." Ken answered. "Daddy I'm ready to go, but Zac was up late too. I'm going to run Zoe next door before I go to work. Make sure you tell them so he doesn't worry. Okay?" Jessy asked. "Morning baby." Mom said. "Go back to sleep." Jessy said. "Nah hey miss Zoe come here." Mom asked and Zoe put out her hands so Jessy put her down. "I"ll tell her about Zac you head out to work." Ken said. "Zac may have brought her a change of clothes, I gave her a bath. See ya later." Jessy said making her way back to Zac to kiss him goodbye before heading to her car and making her way downtown.
