Look At You

Part Forty-One

The house was filled with activity. It was already eight and they had to be at the salon by nine. "Daddy. I want to see Zac before I go, I'm going to run next door, okay?" Jessy asked puzzled by the look on his face. "What Daddy?" she asked as he spun her around to Zac making his way to the house. "Zac is Mom ready?" Jessy asked almost in tears making her way to his arms. "I missed you too." he whispered hugging her tight. "Mom is up getting Zoe something to eat and waiting for me to get back. I offered to watch Zoe, but I had to see you before you left me for the majority of the day. You're beautiful, now why do you need to spend time at making you something you already are." Zac asked. "Oh you'll be glad when I'm back and all dolled up." Jessy said as the others arrived and Zac walked them to the garage and they loaded into the van, Jessy driving. "Hop in hun and I'll drive to your house to pick up Mom." Jessy said as Zac hopped in back next to Momma. "Bye Daddy, take care of Zac for me?" Jessy asked. "Zac you come back for breakfast, I'll make omelets. Tell your Dad and brothers too. You're all welcome." Ken said. "I love you Daddy." Jessy said leaning out the window to kiss him goodbye as she backed out of the driveway and into the Hanson driveway. Jessy and Zac raced into the house, "Beat you." Zac declared. "I could make you pay for that, but I love you too much to treat you that way. Just know I could make you sooooo sorry." Jessy teased kissing him so deeply he moaned. "Hey Mom you ready to be pampered?" Jessy asked as she quickly withdrew from their kiss, leaving Zac standing their wanting more. Jessy was hugging his mother, "I thought you said you loved me too much to do that." Zac complained. "I do just think where you'd be right now if I didn't love you with my heart and soul." Jessy said laughing as she headed to Zoe, picking her up in her arms and twirling. "I'll never break your heart. I'll never make you cry. I'd rather die than live without you. I'll give you all of me that's no lie. "I'll never break your heart. I'll never make you cry. I'd rather die than live without you. I'll give you all of me that's no lie." Jessy sang dancing them to Zac. "Come on Mom. You lucky Zoe get to stay with my favorite fella. Can you take care of Zac for me while I'm gone?" Jessy asked hugging her tight. "Zac. Do I gotta?" Zoe complained. "No not if you feel that way about it. I just thought you knew what I did, you know that Zac's the most fun to play with. He always makes me laugh when we play around." Jessy said putting her down as she kissed Zac goodbye. "Come on Zac. I wanna play." Zoe said. "Gee thanks now I gotta play." Zac said, adding, "Next time we race, you're going to win. You're a poor loser." Zac laughed. "Precisely." Jessy smiled taking Mom's arm and heading to the van as Zac grabbed Zoe and put her on his shoulders and chased after them. "Boy Zac you don't learn very fast." Mom said. "What?" Zac said. "You put Zoe on your shoulders and race. Rub it in a little more that you beat Jessy hands down." Mom teased. "He did not, I would have beat him had I wanted to hurt his ego." Jessy declared, adding, "Too bad I promised Daddy I'd drive you guys to the salon or I'd race him right now and show you." Jessy fumed as Zac walked his Mom around the van. "Touche' Zac." Jessy said opening her own door and getting in. He walked in front of the van and stuck out his tongue at Jessy. "So that's what you keep slipping in my mouth huh?" Jessy said loudly and Zac turned red. "Oh Touche' Jessy" the van said in unison. "Yeah but you like it so, you moan my name." Zac said sticking his head in the window to kiss her goodbye and Jessy kissed him deeper than before and he moaned her name loudly. This time she kissed him tenderly before slowly withdrawing. "That didn't sound like Zac to me. Did you her Zac being moaned Barbie?" Diana said. "I love you hun. Gotta go I promised Daddy." Jessy said heading out of the driving and to the salon. "Here you are. We were getting a little worried." Lois said. "Sorry Lois, my fault I couldn't tear myself away from Zac." Jessy said heading the greet Caryn and Suzy. "Hey this is Debby our new Nail Technician." Caryn said. "Cool you guys finally got one, has she been busy?" Jessy turned asking Lois, the owner. "Yes Jessy you were right. This place needed a nail technician. She's booked solid. Thanks for the suggestion." Lois said. "Hey what are friends for." Jessy said hugging her. "Now if you want to really rock this joint, you gotta let me redecorate and you'll be the hottest salon in Tulsa." Jessy said and explained what she meant as the other four hopped in chairs and the pamering began. Jessy headed back to the office to write down her redecorating tips complete with what music should be played and what snacks should be sold. One by one they began to look more like formal dates. By the time of their one o'clock lunch which Ken had delivered, all of the girls except Jessy had their hair and nails done. Jessy had managed to get just her nails done. "All right Jessy in the chair." Lois ordered. "Lois I can wash my own hair at home. There's nothing you can do with it besides let it hang straight." Jessy complained. "Trust me Jessy. Is that why you never let me do you hair when you come in with your Mom? You think I can't do anything with your beautiful long blonde hair?" Lois asked. "You curl it and it's flat and hanging straight inside of three minutes." Jessy moaned. "So what do you want Jessy?" she asked. "I'm Daddy's princess and I have the perfect dress that makes me look like one. I even have a tiara." Jessy explained as she tested a curl. "You're right" she laughed as it straightened a minute later. "My hair is just too thick and heavy." Jessy said as Lois dug in the cabinet and brought out a small curling iron and sectioned off a smaller section of hair. They watched and timed together at twenty minutes and no sign of moving, "Jessy what time should I be at your place tonight so I can curl you right before you leave for the Ball?" Lois asked. "The car picks us up at 6:15." Jessy said. I'll leave here at five and head to your house okay?" Lois said as she washed and dried Jessy's hair. When four o'clock rolled around and everyone but Jessy was done. "Barbie why don't you and the others head home. I'll bring Jessy home when the shop closes. I was going to come curl her hair then anyway." Lois explained and they loaded up and headed home. Jessy grabbed her phone and dialed home, "Daddy" she said as he answered. "What's up baby girl?" Ken said. "They're on their way home. I was so ugly I'm taking longer." Jessy laughed. "Yeah right. They just feel bad, they can't make you more beautiful than you already were." Ken teased back. "No, Daddy I sort of dragged my feet and let the other's get done first. You know me I wanted all four working on just me." Jessy said. "I know you, you gave up your time so the others could get done first and don't try and deny it. I know my baby." Ken said. "Yeah Daddy. I just don't want Zac to worry when they get home and I'm not with them is all." Jessy said to no response. "Daddy? Daddy?" she asked. "No it's me." Zac said. "Hey Zac. I miss you so much." she said. "As much as I miss you?" he asked. "I don't know. Can you think about anything without me coming to mind." Jessy asked. "Nope you keep coming to mind no matter what I've done and then I sit with this sappy look on my face until I snap back." Zac said. "Me too." she said. "Do you imagine kissing me and you moan?" Zac asked. "Umm Zac I'm in public and yes I embarassed myself over you. Top that." Jessy said. "Try kissing back and coming up with a mouthful of pillow." Zac laughed. "So you went back to bed eh? It's a good thing because I'm going to dance your butt good tonight." Jessy said. "Jessy I love you so much it hurts." Zac said. "I know, how are we going to survive this until we're married." Jessy asked. "So when you marry me you're not going to love me this much any more?" Zac asked. "Zac that's not nice. I'll love you more because I'll be your wife. We'll have told the world we love each other like no other could and we will love each other more each day, forever and a day." Jessy sighed, adding, "I got to go, they need me. Zac I love you, honest I do. Bye until later." she said as she looked at the clock. It was almost five and they other girls were cleaning up, preparing to go home as Losi applied Jessy's make up as the others headed out. "Well Daddy's little princess, let's get you home and finish this up there." Lois said and the two headed to her car and headed home. "It's about time." Chele said dressed in her gown. "Wow you look so beautiful. Poor Taylor." Jessy said. "Baby there you are, Lois nice of you to do this for her. Jessy get in the shower now and don't get your hair wet." Barbie said as Jessy raced up the stairs. "Daddy you look so handsome. Wow I forget what a hunk you are. No wonder Momma married you." Jessy said kissing him on her way to her shower. "Lois I'm out. Come on up." Jessy called stepping into her dress. "Oh my goodness Jessy. It's, you're beautiful." Lois gasped. "I told you it was perfect. I hope this is waterproof mascara. I sure am testing it out." Jessy said as Lois buttoned her dress then curled her hair. She placed on her tiara and put in the finishing touches and touching up her make up. "Man I'm good." Lois laughed, adding, "If all my clients were this beautiful, I'd be out of business. You have a good time at the ball fairy princess. I'm going so I can see the look on their faces." Lois said as she left and Jessy dialed Grampa, "Hello" he answered. "Hey Grampa it's me." Jessy said. "Jessy my baby girl, how do you look?" he asked. "Like a fairy book princess Grampa." Jessy said. "Can't wait to see you. Remember second dance is mine." Grampa said. "I have my dance card right here and you come right after Daddy. I got to go I just wanted you to know how happy I am that you're coming tonight. I love you Grampa, bye." Jessy said as she hung up and made her way downstairs. "Oh my god baby. You're, you're." Ken said as tears came to his eyes, flowing down his face as the room gasped. Jessy you look so beautiful hun." Zac said extending his hand as she made the last three steps. "Thanks Zac. I'm sorry I'm late. I called you know who." Jessy said hugging him. "You look great in this tux. I don't think I can do this. I can only imagine how much fund it would be to get you out of this tux." she moaned into his ear, adding, "It hurts so" as they posed for pictures. "My turn with my baby. I'm done blubbering." Ken said extendinig his hand. Jessy took his hand and stepped into his arms. "You look so beautiful my little princess. I'll be the envy of the ball with you in my arms." Ken said. "Oh we're going to wow them looking this good." Jessy said straightening his tie, smiling, then kissin and hugging him. "My turn." Walker said. "Sweetie you look absolutely exquisite. Like you stepped out of a fairy tale into are lives." Walker said taking Jessy into his arms. "Daddy here it's a secret but I want you to dance with me too." Jessy said sliding her dance card from her sleeve and placing it in his left hand, "Zac" she called. "It's a surprise Dad, we promised Grampa." Zac said putting an arm around his father and Jessy pulled out her hanky and wiped the tears from his face. He signed Walker Hanson proudly on line three and then hugged Jessy tighter than before and then kissed her on the forehead. Taylor walked over as Chele noticed her dance card and sent him to dance with her baby sister. "God Taylor you have to promise you won't say a word, swear." Jessy said hiding her card. "Son I expect you to swear to secrecy what you are about to see." Walker said. "Sounds mysterious here Walker, what's up?" Ken said putting an arm on Walker, patting Zac's arm as Jessy opened her hand offering her dance to Taylor. "No Way. Oops." he yelled then lowered his voice. "Okay men let me in here." Isaac said as Taylor signed the fourth line and handed the pen to Isaac. "Wonderful." Isaac said as they explained the secret. "Zac hun in my desk, left hand side the drawer is still ajar, you'll find these dance cards, get four more please." she asked as Isaac signed the fifth line. "Yeah as long as you stop handing out my dances." he teased and ran upstairs, finding the cards, signing on the lines that their partner was dancing with Jessy and returning to hand them out. "Okay she's mine and you have dance cards to sign." he said pulling Jessy to him, as the other guys signed the dance cards. "Your limo is here." Sam said as the ten of them made their way into the limo and headed to the "Mid Summer's Ball" at the country club.
