Look At You

Part Forty

"Jessy hun I'd rather drive your car. I just feel nervous driving Momma's is all." Zac said. "Oh all right, but you stay right behind me. I hate getting hit on all the time in that hunk magnet of hers." Jessy complained. As soon as they pulled onto the four lane street it started, a car full of guys pulled up along side of Jessy and the comments started. Zac watched as she sunk in the seat and at the next red light Jessy noticed as Zac get out of her car and walk towards her, "I'm sorry hun, I'll drive this." Zac said opening the door for her to trade vehicles. "I love you for this." Jessy exclaimed kissing him quickly and running to the Expedition and getting in. "She didn't deserve being treated that way." Zac said calmly to the car load of guys. "Hey man we didn't mean nothing by it." one of them apologized. "Tell her that, not me. It wasn't me you unnerved." Zac explained. He watched as they slowed and yelled to Jessy. When she lowered her window, "We're sorry. You just looked so good is all. Meant nothing by it." he apologized. "It just didn't sound like you meant nothing by it. But thanks for saying so." Jessy said putting her window back up. She followed Zac the rest of the way home pulling Momma's car into the garage. "We're back." she called out as they entered the house noticing everyone out back at the skating area. "Let's go see." Zac said. "You go hun. I'm going up to shower and change." Jessy said kissing him and heading up to her room. She quickly undressed and hopped into the shower. "Jesus it's cold" she mumbled as she got out and wrapped in a towel, then she towel dried her hair. Chilled to the bone she opened her windows to let some of the summer heat into her room. Jessy opened her closet and stared look for something to put on. On the shelf she noticed the violin case. She remembered putting it there but not seeing it again until now. She pulled it down and laid it on the bed thinking of how much fun it used to be to play and them she remembered why she quit. "No you don't this is my life." Jessy said staring at the case and she opened it and picked up the violin plucking at the strings and then tuning it. Without thinking she picked up the bow and began playing, and playing. She stood and played more as all the good things rushed back into her mind. The competitions, people she had met, friends she had made as she played Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto. "Ssssh. Oh my god Ken I don't believe it." Barbie said turning towards the house. "Jessy?" he asked. "That's my baby. She hasn't played in over two years. What did you do Zac?" Barbie asked. "What do you mean Momma?" Zac asked. "Baby she hasn't touched her violin since her father showed up at a competition she was in drunker than a skunk. She was so humiliated she swore she'd never play again." Barbie told him. "We didn't talk about that but we did a lot of talking and crying over her past." Zac said. "That's Jessy. She's good. I had no idea. She sings like an angel. Plays violin like a master. What else does she do." Walker asked. "Anything she puts her mind to." Zac said before Barbie could. "I can't believe you. That's what I was going to say." Barbie said, adding, "You sure know my baby. Thanks for making her happy enough to live again." "We're working on it Momma." Zac said. "Go see if she'll come play for us." Barbie asked him and he headed to the house. As Jessy finished she played something more upbeat to the delight of everyone. "Zac" Jessy exclaimed as she heard the door open. "Like the concert attire hun. I sure hope this is a private show" Zac said wrapping his arms around her toweled body. "Let's see, Momma. What she do send you to fetch me?" Jessy laughed. "Yeah hun. You had her almost in tears. So what do you say, come out and play." Zac teased as she laughed. "I think I'll change from my concert attire first Zac." Jessy said. "Aww I like you in a towel, or not in a towel." he said tugging her towel and letting it drop to the floor. "You're a baaad boy." Jessy laughed. "No I'm a very very bad boy." Zac said lifting her and laying her on her bed and crawling on top of her as he kissed her so deeply she moaned his name and her eyes filled with tears. "You are a very very bad boy." Jessy whispered choking back the tears. "Baby don't cry, I'm sorry I should have thought this through." Zac said. "Just hold me hun." Jessy whimpered. "Let me get you dressed first before I do something stupid again." he said going to her dresser and opening the right drawers pulling out panties, a tank and a pair of jeans. Zac dressed her than held her tight confessing his love and promises to think before starting something he wasn't going to finish. They headed out back and Jessy played for them as Zac smiled his pride of Jessy's talent as Jessy started to fiddle and really pleased Momma, "Go baby." she said as she and Ken started boot scooting and Jessy got down, shaking her butt while dancing and ended spinning circles on her heel. "Man Jessy the have a fiddling contest the week of MayFest and you'll take it hands down." Zac said. "I know babe, I took it when I was 10. Got the plaque upstairs in the closet somewhere. That year you guys didn't play you were on your way to stardom they announced." Jessy said. "I always go with Grampa. You wore a white outfit and pigtails didn't you. Jessy I saw you." Zac said laughing wrapping his arms around her. "Come on Zac, I wasn't that funny looking. I thought I was pretty cool." Jessy pouted. "No hun that's not what I'm laughing about. I went home that night madly in love with you. I was only ten but I new I was going to marry you and soon I will." Zac said his eyes searching hers until they connected. "Zac I love you so much." Jessy said wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him deeply. "Me too. I can't believe that it's you. What until Grampa hears this, he teased me so bad when I told him I was going to marry you." Zac said. "Let's go tell him. I'll stand outside and fiddle for him until he comes out. Let's go see if we can find that plaque. I'll give it to him to remind him to believe in his grandson." Jessy said. "Really, you want to go tell him now?" Zac asked. "Zac your Grampa is the cooles old man I've ever been around. I love him and can't wait until he's my Grampa too." Jessy said. "I think he's hooked on you already hun. I got the feeling that I better not mess up with you or he's going to be all over me." Zac said as they walked to the house. "Oh Momma, Daddy, Zac and I are going to run back in to see Grampa, we'll be back after we let him in on the latest." Jessy said. "Mom, Dad, Jessy and I..." Zac said but was interrupted. "We heard already. Go, tell Daddy I love him." Diana said as the two made their was to the house finding Jessy's MayFest plaque and heading back to Grampa's to share the discovery. The pulled up in front of his house, Jessy got her violin out of the case. "Zac do you remember what I played that year?" Jessy asked. "No. I only know you were the prettiest thing I ever say and you wowed the whole place. Everytime you played people came to listen from everywhere rock lovers, blues lovers, classical lovers, everybody came to listen." Zac said. "And all you could do was fall madly in love with me eh?" Jessy smiled a satisfied smile. "Yep I was hopeless that night as I'm hopelessly in love with you now Jessy. Let's go wow Grampa." Zac said grabbing the plaque and rushing around the car to open her door. She stopped out in front of the house and started fiddling as Zac sat on the steps. Finally Grampa opened the door first seeing Zac, then Jessy on the sidewalk fiddling away. "I didn't know she could do that." Grampa exclaimed. "I just found out an hour ago. Here read this Grampa." Zac said handing him the plaque. "We'll I'll be. Zac Hanson you said you'd marry her and you are boy, you are." Grampa said sitting down next to Zac slapping his back as Jessy spun ending the song. "Grampa I hear you came and watched me play?" Jessy asked him smiling, "Mom said to tell you she loves you." Jessy shared. "You just amaze me Jessy girl. Look at you, Zac's little fiddler, all grown up and marrying him. Just like Zac predicted that night. Amazing, just amazing." Grampa said as Jessy sat on his lap, hugging him then playing again. "I just had to share Grampa, but I better get her home. Tomorrow's going to be a busy day. They has hair, nail, and everything else appointments starting at 9am and they won't be back until late afternoon. Man they ought to really look good. Huh?" Zac teased as he and Jessy loaded up and made their way back home. Zac walked her to her room. "I liked sleeping with you. I'm going to miss you holding me." Jessy pouted layinig her head on his shoulder. "Me too Jessy but soon we won't be separated. You'll be with me forever and a day." Zac said kissing her tenderly and heading to his own house, to sleep in his own bed, alone.
