Look At You

Part Thirty-Nine

The sun entered the window and shone bright across the bed warming their bodies. Jessy stirred and a smile appeared on her face when she realized she was lying naked in Zac's arms. "What is that smile for?" Zac whispered. "Zac you're awake. I was just realize where I was. Naked in your arms is all." Jessy said. "Is all. God Jessy I know I promised you we'd wait but I want you so bad." Zac said rolling away from her. "Zac did you hurt this bad last night when I walked away." Jessy asked crying. "Don't cry, please I didn't mean to make you cry." Zac said turning back and holding her tight to him. "Jessy don't cry." he pleaded lifting her face. "I'm sorry Jessy I love you, it's just before you woke up, I, i was going to make love to you Jessy. I was just going to do it. I wasn't going to see if you even wanted to I was just going to do it. I'm so ashamed I would consider doing that to you." Zac confessed. "Oh Zac don't feel so bad that you wanted to love me. Hun I've been throwing myself at you for so long, I'm not surprised you'd take me up on it." Jessy said as she crawled over him. "No Jessy." he protested. "Yes Zac." she declared. "No don't." he said. "Yes Zac please" she asked, adding, "Zac Hanson I love you and you love me. We're getting married. Why can't I love you now. Let met do this, or screw the hell out of me. I don't care your call." she teased as she pressed her lips to his. "Jessy" Zac yelled getting her attention. "Fine." Jessy said crawling back, staring out the window, dying inside. "I've got to go to the bathroom." she sad sliding from bed, making her way around to her shirt on the floor. "Jessy you're right." Zac said catching her by surprise. "Say what?" she turned to look at him finding him sitting, looking down. "Zac are you serious?" Jessy asked crawling across the bed to him, "Zac are you okay hun?" she asked. "I don't know Jessy. I, I'm just so confused. "I want you so bad, but I promised you we'd wait." Zac said searching her eyes. "Zac I love you too much to keep doing this, like I said I have to go." she said scooting off the bed. "I'm coming too. Toss me my boxers." Zac asked as she bent to get the shirt. Jessy tossed him his boxers and slipped arms into the shirt, heading to the bathroom. She was done on her way back, no Zac. As she entered the room, she found him laying on the bed, his face buried in a pillow. "Oh Zac I'm sorry." Jessy slipped into bed next to him hugging him tight. "Jessy hold me?" he asked. "Always Zac come here." she said drawing him into her arms. She rocked and stroked his hair, and sang to him. "Have you ever loved somebody so much, it made you cry. Have you ever needed something so bad you can't sleep at night. Have you ever tried to find the words but they don't come out right. Have you ever, have you ever. Have you ever been in love, been in love so bad. You'd do anything to make them understand." Jessy stopped, "Zac that's what I've been doing, trying to make you understand how much I love you. I guess I don't know the right words so I keep throwing myself at you, making things worse for you. Zac you're everything to me. You've made me smile and care about living again. I've been so hurt for so long I was just existing. But since I met you, I'm living life again and I guess I'm just trying to let you know that. I still have lots of bad things to work through Zac but for the first time in long time I care to work through them instead of hiding from them. I love you more than I ever thought possible." Jessy said searching his eyes. "I love you too Jessy. You make my life make sense. I have a reason now for everything I do. You're my reason." Zac said as they held each other tight. "I'm getting hungry." Jessy finally said to break the silence. "Me too. Let's get dressed and get breakfast started." Zac said. "Help me straighten the bed?" Jessy asked and the made the bed, got dressed, then made their way to the kitchen putting the casserole in. They got some juice to drink and headed to sit on the front porch, "Where's our house from here?" she asked and as he explained she cuddled close. Before long the casserole was done. They set the table and headed up to wake the girls, "You take Krissy cuz Chele's a bear to wake." Before long the four were downstairs. Jessy made up Grampa's plate, wrapped it in plastic and put it into the fridge to be zapped later. The six ate and then the girls made their way to the 9a appointment to find dresses for the Summer Ball and their upcoming weddings. "This tiny shop?" Chele asked. "This is the place. I think she has everything in here. Good morning, it's me Jessy, I brought my sisters." Jessy called out. She greeted them and they sat to tea and cookies, discussing the loves of the life, their dreams, their expectations, their dream weddings. Before long she had Kristina and Chele in perfect ballgowns. "Now this wedding of all three of you. Everyone of you as you spoke to me said this is meant to be and the man of you dreams. I think this should be the dream wedding, fairy tale type, light airy, clouds type wedding." she suggested and the girls realized she was right." Jessy you were right she is good at this." Chele said and Kristina agreed. The four discussed the possibilities and finally called Momma to let her know, "Sounds perfect, I'm on my way down. Tell me how to get there again." Momma asked. Soon the six, Momma and Mommy who had returned from the country early, sat discussing the wedding as the bell rang on the front door. "Jessy?" "Chele" "Kristina" the guys called out and they rushed to hide their dresses as the Moms greeted the guys who explained they were worried it had been almost four hours. The girls greeted them introducing and explaining the concept of the wedding. It was unanimous they would have the dream wedding as the nine sat to finalize plans. The guys ran down a couple of blocks and picked up lunch at a Chinese restaurant while the Moms were fitted with ball gowns. Jessy noticed the time and quickly dialed her cell, "English Department" she answered. "Hey this is Jessy Kendall, can I talk to my daddy please? His class should be over a few minutes ago." Jessy asked. "Daddy?" she said. "What a pleasant surprise. How's my baby girl?" Ken said. "I'm great Daddy. Ummm can you stop by the bank, take a second mortgage and come meet us, we found our wedding dresses and Momma found a gown for the ball." Jessy giggled. "That's where they are. I've been trying to reach her to she how they're doing." Ken said. "The guys went to get Chinese, we worked through lunch and Momma got hungry." Jessy explained. Soon the front door bell ran, "Barbie?" Ken called. "Ken honey we're back here. How did you know? Jessy you called him, how sweet." Barbie said hugging Jessy. "Diana?" Walker said. "Walker Hanson. Jessy did you do this too. You are a doll, thank you for including us." Diana said. "Mom you're as much a part of this as we are. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you and Daddy so thank you." Jessy said hugging her. Chele and Kristina got in line for their hugs as the eleven sat to finalize the wedding plans. "Well I'm glad I took you're second mortgage joke seriously baby girl." Ken said pulling out a bank check payable to the store as a down payment on the wedding. "My goodness this is too much. I haven't even started a bill. To think I was going to close the shop and sell to a developer to build some sort of strip mall." she declared. "No, oh don't. If you decide to sell, I'd love to buy it!" Jessy said her eyes afire. You could see the wheels turning. "Down girl, you already have a store in the works. I'll never see you if you own two." Zac pouted. "Oh Zac I'll let you work for me, then we'll see each other." she teased. "Boss me huh?" Zac said picking her up. "Yeah I do, but in such a sweet way you don't care." Jessy said caressing his face, gazing into his eyes. "Ok" Zac sighed sitting back down with her in his lap. "Poor Zac, I think he's hopeless." Diana said. "But Jessy adores him so, just look at her the way she looks at him. They have that special connection Mother." Walker said. "I see it too. Your are right. They will do just fine." Diana answered. The ball gowns boxed, the men settled up the bills and everyone headed home, Momma riding with Daddy so Jessy and Zac took her mustang and drove to Grampa's. "Man Grampa we have just about everything done. She was fantastic. Thanks so much for thinking about that shop. You're my knight in shining armor." Jessy exclaimed hugging him tight. "I'm going to double check the upstairs to see if everyone else made their beds. My two most favorite fellas talk, I'll be right back." Jessy said making her way upstairs straightening up. She gathered all the left behind clothes and returned to Zac and Grampa. They chatted about the wedding and the ball tomorrow night. "Wait til you see Mom's dress, she looked beautiful." Zac shared. "Your little girl is a beauty." Jessy said. "Can't wait to see her. You either." Grampa fussed over Jessy as Zac watched smiling. They finally said their goodbyes and headed home.
