Look At You

Part Thirty-three

Taylor pulled the car into the attorney's parking lot and parked. "Come on Jessy." Taylor said opening the door and extending his hand. "Why can't I find Zac. There's no answer at your house, I upset Momma calling my house. She's calling Daddy and he'll be upset." Jessy said fighting back the tears. "Jessy you didn't do anything wrong. If they're upset it's with Tony for treating you the way he did is all." Taylor reassured her, hugging her gently. "He's right Sis you know Momma and Daddy aren't upset with you, they're upset because it happened to their baby." Chele said as they entered the office. They were escorted directly to Attorney Conners office. "Jessy, I don't know if you remember me. We met at the.." he said until Jessy interrupted, "At the Country Club. I flew out for the Valentine Ball. You called me Daddy's Little Princess. Yes I remember you sir, that's why I called you, Daddy's thinks highly of you, so I knew if anyone could help me you could." Jessy finished. "Thank you dear. Speaking of Daddy, we just got off the phone. He's on his way down. I expect him anytime. I'm sure you'll be okay once he's here." the attorney said. "Excuse me. Taylor could you call Grampa Lawyer's for me and see if he went there. Excuse me again. Mr. Conners I'd like to introduce my sister Chele and Taylor Hanson, her fiance. And Mr. Conners I told you earlier, that my sister had probably given him her two weeks notice, that's why Tony had taken that attitude with me. She never told him, there was no excuse for his behavior." Jessy said. "Interesting." he said as he came around his desk extending his had to Chele and Tay. They were discussing the earlier events when Tay noticed Jessy thumb through a telephone book. "Excuse me a moment, Jessy Grampa Lawyer isn't listed anymore, too many fans called him we had to change his number. Here let me dial it for you. I bet he is there."Taylor said kissing the top of her head and returning to Chele. "Hello" the nice voice answered. "Hello Grampa Lawyer, this is Jessy and I'm looking for Zac. Have you seen him this afternoon by any chance?" Jessy asked the fear apparent in her voice. "Yes little one, everything will be okay, Zac it's your Jessy,"Grampa said. "Hey babe. What's Up?" Zac asked. "Oh Zac please come. I need you. Not Tay and Chele or Momma and Daddy. Zac I'm at Daddy's Lawyer's office, Mr. Conners." Jessy said interrupted by Zac. "That's Grampa's lawyer, Mr. Conners? Right Grampa?" Zac asked and Jessy heard him answer yes. "Good I don't have to tell you where I a because I don't know. Zac, Tony came unglued. I still can't believe the things he said to me. I called Mr. Conners because of Daddy, I knew what Tony was doing was wrong but I didn't know wha to do so I called him. Tony like snaps and really dumps on me. Mr. Conners was listening and got so scared he called the police. That really pushed him over the edge so much so they ended up arresting him for his behavior." Jessy said. "Babe I'm sorry I wasn't there for you. What's with that man?" Zac asked. "Zac I never saw anything like it, he was so angry by the end. I was so glad the police came." Jessy said, adding, "I need you so much." "I'm on my way, five minutes maybe Grampa says you aren't that far from me. I'll be right there. Here talk to Grampa, he wants to get to know you better." Zac said. "Okay Zac, hurry." Jessy said. "Hey my little one. Zac said some of what happened. I'm really sorry. He makes me ashamed I'm a man, you know what I mean." Grampa said. "Yeah Grampa and thanks for reminding me all men aren't creeps." Jessy said. "Oh Jessy my Zac loves you so, he's not a creep baby girl." Grampa said. "No you're right, Zac definitely is not a creep. I love him so much Grampa, so much it hurts. You know what I mean Grampa?" Jessy asked. "Yes Jessy. That's how I felt about my wife. That's how my Diana feels about Walker and now that's how you feel about my Zac. I'm so glad Jessy." Grampa said. "You do understand? I'm so tired of people saying I'm a baby and don't know Grampa." Jessy said fighting the tears. "That's what this is all about Grampa, he called me a baby. Then he said the only reason I was marrying Zac was because I was knocked up. Grampa Zac wouldn't do that, he loves me." Jessy said. "No he wouldn't Jessy, he told me how hard it is to keep his word to you. He said how he promised you he'd wait." Grampa said. "He did Grampa he promised me and his word is good Grampa. Zac's good for his word." Jessy said. "I know baby, he's mine remember." Grampa said. "I know Grampa, it's I just love him so much I can't stop telling people how good he is. Then this jerk, my boss, goes screaming how the should arrest Zac for knocking up a kid, I'm no kid Grampa and Zac wouldn't do that anyway. He made me so mad." Jessy said. "I can imagine baby girl." Grampa. "Grampa why don't I feel like a kid when you call me baby girl. I came unglued when Tony called me that." Jessy asked. "Because I love you for loving my Zac and you love me because of Zac, baby girl." Grampa said. "Oh yeah. You make it so simple. Thanks." Jessy smiled "That's my job baby girl, you just remember that and that I'm here for you no matter what." Grampa said. "Man you're good I felt that hug over the phone Grampa." Jessy smiled bigger. "Good that proves you're my baby girl. Only my baby girls can feel it over the phone." Grampa said. "I love you Grampa." Jessy said. "Zac's here, somewhere. Jessy added. "You can feel him huh? That's a good sign Jessy." Grampa said. "Grampa you doing anything tonight?" Jessy asked. "No baby girl. Why?" Grampa asked. "I was wondering if it was okay if I came and got a hug in person?" Jessy asked. "I'd like that, you have that Zac bring you to me. I mean it, I'll be waiting for you baby girl." Grampa said. "I can't wait Grampa. Oh here he is. See you later Grampa and Thanks. I love you." Jessy said hanging up and rushing to Zac's arms and she cried for the first time. "It's okay. I'm here know, let it out." Zac comforted her as she cried. As she stopped he lifted her face and wiped her tears away with his hankie, kissing her tenderly. "Jessy I'm sorry, I feel this is all my fault." Zac said. "Why because you love me and asked me to marry you. That's all you did Zac. How can that be wrong. That jerk screamed to have you locked up for knocking me up. You still feel guilty?" Jessy said. "He what? Where's he get you're pregnant, that's so far from the truth." Zac asked. "He said that's the only reason a teen that looks like I do would every get married. Like I can't love you." Jessy said. "I'm so sorry you had to go through this." Zac said hugging her tight. "Me too." Jessy laughed for the first time. "You would laugh." Zac laughed with her as Momma and Daddy came through the door. "Well that's a good sign my baby's laughing." Barbies said. "Momma" Jessy said rushing to her arms. "Just what you need, I'm sorry ." Jessy said tears coming to her eyes. "Hey you're my baby too. We'll get through this." Barbie said tears filling her eyes. "I'm prepared." Zac said pulling out his hankie. "Me too." Tay said producing his and the whole room laughed. They sat and discussed their options. "This is all too much. I can't decide right now." Jessy said. "That's only fair Jessy. A lot has happened, let it sink in. Sort through it. I'll see what is happening with Tony and this charge, the report that the officers file and I'll interview the two of them. They should make great witnesses on your behalf. I'm even going to look into turning the case over, second chairing it and my being a witness on you behalf. There are so many possibilities. You go and sort through what's happened so far. I'll reach you at home and we'll talk again say by the middle of next week. Will I see you Saturday night at the Summer Ball?" the attorney asked. "Yes, I'll be Daddy's little Princess once again." Jessy smiled. "Then I'll see you then, Ken Barbie could I speak with you about the girls a moment?" he asked. "Momma, Zac and I are going shopping. I still want a new gown and Zac said he'd buy me one." Jessy said hugging her whispering "Have a good appointment, I'll be praying for you and baby." "You two have a good time. Take care of my baby." Momma said. "I will Momma" Zac said hugging her, whispering "You take care of new baby." "I love you Zac." Momma said. "I know Momma, I'm ready." Zac said producing his hankie. "Oh get out of here before I need that thing." she said looking a Jessy "Get him out of here." "Yes Momma." Jessy laughed taking Zac's hand and leaving. "We're doing the same Momma, Daddy" Chele said. "I guess that means I'm buying." Taylor laughed. "You better believe it." Chele laughed. "See ya later Momma, Dad." Taylor said opening the door for Chele. Jessy and Zac were already pulling from the lot when Chele and Tay walked out the door. "They're in a hurry. Must be going to the Mall." Taylor said. "There's a shop downtown I want to go to first before we head to the Mall." Chele said as they pulled from the lot heading the opposite direction. Taylor pulled the car up in front of the Bridal shop and they headed in looking at all the formals. Chele tried on a few, "Looks great" Taylor said. "Nah, I'm looking for something special." Chele said to each of the dresses she tried and the headed to the Mall. She dragged him to store after store with the same results, she was looking for something special. They stopped for something to eat before making their way to the upper level. "I wonder why we haven't seen Jessy and Zac, Taylor?" Chele asked. "Oh they're probably a few stores ahead of us, is all." Taylor explained.
