Look At You

Part Twenty-Two

"Good morning welcome to Zats. My name is Jessy. What can I help you with today or are we just looking?" Jessy greeted the customer and led them and showed them what they were interested. A few minutes later, "I'll ring that up for you. You've made the right choice. Have a nice day and remember to come back again." Jessy said waving goodbye and starting the cycle all over again with the next customer. "Finally a lull, this place has been packed all morning. Where's Tony when you need him?" Jessy asked. "I don't know. I was contemplating calling him at home. To see if he was still there." Chele said. "Here they come again. Do it, call his sorry ass." Jessy said as she headed to greet the customers. "Remember come again. God no more. Did you find Tony?" Jessy asked, adding, "Two your pick he or she, or is that she or she. Oh left or right." Jessy laughed and the girls went back to work. An hour later, "Man where is that boss. I'm hungry and he's not here still. Jerk." Jessy said. "You and me both. If this is the way he's running things, I'm looking for new work. This is the pits. Already he dumps on us because we're hard workers. Takes us for granted." Chele said. "You serious about looking for other work?" Jessy asked. "Yeah. Who needs this shit!" Chele said. "Don't laugh or I'll have to kill you. I've had this idea, thought, dream thingy for years. A Hanson Store. I know the guys have the MOE Merchandise, but I'm talking clothes like theirs, you know the memorable yellow pants with the black stripe, Tay's silky shirts, shades, boots, shoes, you know from the bottom up Hanson. Besides the fact that we're almost family and we could sell their stuff, and Mercury's too. Oh Chele the possibilities are endless." Jessy said. "Jessy the idea is great, but where would we get the money?" Chele asked. "Well lots of places, the bank, the government, women's business association, small business association, Daddy, and even our finances if we had to. I know I don't want to either but in a pinch, I'll talk Zac out of his money. The rent down here is cheaper, but the traffic a the Mall may just make up the difference and some. I have some figures at home, I was going to plug it to Daddy before I went into my rebellious mode. God he has been through so much with us and he just kept on loving us. I think I'm going to do something nice for him." Jessy said and picked up the phone as Chele headed to greet a customer. "So he'll get them yet this afternoon. Great thanks a bunch. I'll see you on my lunch hour whenever the boss gets here. No if your headed this was just stop great. I'd love to meet you too." Jessy said. "Girl you have to stop doing that. You're engaged Jessy." Chele said. "What was I doing?" Jessy asked. "Still flirting. Zac isn't going to appreciate it." Chele replied. "Thanks, it's nice to know what you think." Jessy said leaving to wait on a customer. While still with her cusotmer, Jessy noticed the elderly gentleman enter the store and Chele greeted him. "Could you excuse me for just a minute, I owe this man some money and he was kind enough to stop by, I'll be right back." Jessy asked. "No sure go on." the cutomer said. "Mr. Davis, hi I'm Jessy. I really appreciate this. I can't thank you enough. Daddy really, really deserves to know I love him and this is the perfect way. He can plant them in the yard. Thanks again for the suggestion. Here's your money and keep the extra for such a great idea." Jessy said handing him the money and hugging him. "I have a customer waiting, or I'd love to visit more. Thanks again for everything." Jessy said shaking his hand and heading back to her customer. As she finished she noticed Tony arriving. "Chele if you want to go first go ahead, I'm already past the headache, nausea stage." Jessy offered. "Sure because mine's just starting." Chele said as Jessy went to wait on a customer. She looked up to see Zac, Ash and Taylor enter the store. "Be right back there's one more I'd like to show you." Jessy said making her way to the three. "Hey hun, Tay, Ash. Sis is at lunch finally. What's up?" she asked grabbing a jacket and vest. "I'm looking for a knock her off her feet outfit for tonight." Taylor said. "Ummm Where you going?" she asked. "A party at Ash's friends. Kind of upscale dude, fancy place. pizza, pool, the works." Tay said. "I've got something in mind, let me finish her up and I'll be right with you." Jessy said making her way over and leaving her to make her decision. "Come on Tay while she's deciding." Jessy said showing him the outfit. "Yep this is it. Ring me up sis. You're good at this." Tay said. "Give me your money not your praises." Jessy teased taking his arm that held the money and rang him up. "You have a good time tonight. I need to go back to my other customer. Ask Zac if he wants to hang around he can take me to lunch. Here's my keys if he does." Jessy said making her way back to the customer and helping her decide. "I'm sure you'll enjoy the outfit. Thank you and come again." Jessy said making her way back to the three. "So Ash, who you taking and you need something to wow her or what?" Jessy asked parting him with his money. "Man she's good Zac. You'll never have to worry about money man, she'll have it all." Ash teased. "Zac hasn't dished out any money to me to impress some girl. He's a hottie and doesn't need fancy clothes. Beside he already swept me off my feet." Jessy answered as Chele returned. "Good, you going to take me to lunch." Jessy asked. "Sure thing." Zac said. "Bye Tay, Ash you guys have a good time if I don't see you before you go." Jessy said kissing both. "See ya Tony, I'm going to lunch." Jessy yelled. "See ya Jessy. Hey Zac." Tony said. "Hey Tony" Zac said and mumbled "Get your ass in on time. No more missed lunches." "Hun I'm okay the headache is finally gone." Jessy said hugging Zac's arm. They got drive thru and sat in the park to eat. "Zac I love you for this. It's just what I needed, fresh air and you. I know this can't be easy the way I'm dressed."Jessy said. "You look great." Zac said. "Those new moms over there would beg to differ." Jessy said nodding. "They're just jealous. They all have pot bellies now and can't wear what you're wearing." Zac said. "Is that how you'll talk about me after I have our baby." Jessy asked. "Now there's a pot belly I can't wait to see." Zac said touching Jessy's belly. "As much as I'd love to sit here with you, talking about our future. I have to go back to work hun." Jessy said rubbing the hand on her belly and kissing him sweetly. "Someday Jessy. We'll make love and make a baby. Yep that's what we'll do." Zac said taking her in his arms and kissing her deeply. "Back to work you go." Zac said delivring her back to work where she found a small pot of daisies. "Sisters can be such a pain, sorry to doubt you. Love Big Sis." "That's so sweet." Jessy said. "I'm so sorry...." Chele was interrupted. "I really don't care to talk about it. What Zac thinks is all that matters Chele. I'm sure you feel the same was about Taylor." Jessy said. "Yeah. But still I'm sorry for being a jerkette." Chele laughed. "Hope it's not contagious. First Tony, then you , I wonder what I will do." Jessy laughed on her way to greet the customer. The last two hours flew because the store was busy. Jessy knew he was in the store without looking. Be right with you Zac." she called with even looking. "Last customer for me today. Bye SIs, Tony." Jessy said reaching for Zac's hand. "You're suddenly all smiles." Zac commented. "I'm where I belong, why not smile." Jessy said. "And where are you?" Zac asked. "I'm with you." Jessy said beaming, as Zac opened her door and she slid in. "I sure like my stockings." Zac said caressing Jessy's thigh. "Oooahhh Zac you're driving me crazy. And I was crazy to begin with." Jessy laughed. "Ash want us to come to his friends party. I think he wants Jessy there to show off." Zac said making his way around the car. "Zac I promised your Mom I'd give her a hand hun. I thought if I finished with her, maybe you and I could catch some us time, in the treehouse." Jessy said. "The treehouse, our house eh?" Zac asked. "Yep, you and me, home alone." Jessy smiled. "That's a date I'll keep." Zac said pulling into traffic and heading towards home. "Zac drop me off in my driveway so I can go change and back it into your's for later." Jessy said, heading into the house, stopping to wave goodbye to Zac. "Hey guys, I'm home. Anybody?" Jessy called out and headed up the stairs. Out her bedroom window she saw why she got no answer, construction had started out back and everyone was there. Jessy changed into a pair of hip hugger bells and a tank top and headed to get Mom's project done so she could be with Zac. She hit the kitchen, grabbing a bottle water and a cookie for Zac and headed next door. "Hey Mome, everybody. I'm going to help Mom now. See ya." Jessy hollered and waved. "Hey Mom how's it going? Here babe, nabbed you a cookie." Jessy said. "I'll never get done." Diana complained. "Oh. Lead foots here, let me in there." Jessy teased and started the machine flying. "We going to machine hem to make things easier?" Jessy asked. "Sure why not." Diana answered and the machine hummed again. "Done, this isn't so bad. I need an ironing board and iron hun, please?" Jessy said. It took twenty minutes to complete from start to finish. "Mom you cut them all out and I'll sew and we'll be done in no time. Zac you going to make supper or go pick it up?" Jessy asked. "Me cook. Do I have to?" Zac asked. "Someday yes, I'll insist. Today it's up to you this is your house not mine, yet." Jessy said as Zac looked in the refrigerator. "Pizza okay?" Zac asked. "Great by me." Jessy said. "Good idea Zac. Make all eight up. Barbie has been outback all day. We'll have them over. Go next door and get her pans, make them up here. You can bake four here and four there Zac." Diana said. By the time pizza was ready, there were only three outfits left to sew. "Oh my poor butt." Jessy complained as she got up to head to the bathroom. "I'll do that for you." Zac offered. "I bet you would. My butt will be fine. But thanks for the offer." Jessy laughed as Zac wrapped his arms around her. "You sure sew fast." Zac whispered. "You think I want to be here all night instead of home with you?" she whispered back. "Got to run next door and check the ovens over there." Zac said walking Jessy to the sewing machine, "Finish" he said and headed next door. "Done done done Mom" just have to press this one." Jessy said putting her machine away. "Bless you Jessy. I was in way over my head on this project sweetie. Thanks." Diana said hugging her. "Anytime Mom, we're family now." Jessy answered. "Zachary Walker Hanson after supper you take this girl some place special." Diana ordered. "Oh if you say so Mom." Zac teased smiling so big his eyes glued on Jessy. "Thanks Mom. You heard your mother." Jessy teased. "Zac did you make a salad?" Jessy asked. "Why?" Zac asked. "I'm heading home to whip one up and keep and eye on your pizzas. See you there. We're eating outside right?" Jessy asked as she headed home. Salad ready she made a cooler of lemonade and fruit punch and loaded the cart. She pulled the pizzas from the oven and put them on the shelf as Mom and Zac appeared with their four. "Mom you going to practice your whistle." Jessy asked and Diana whistled as Zac and Jessy cut the pizzas. "You impress me such talents in the kitchen." Jessy said helping Zoe and Mackie fill their plates. "Boy are you two hungry. Did they work you hard?" Jessy asked. "Me poopped." Zoe said. "Oh my poor Zoe, so poopped." Jessy said kissing her as she put her plate down. "Oh I see we're not too poopped to eat." Jessy laughed heading back for a plate for herself, joking with Isaac and Kristina when music started playing, when she recognized the song she put her plate down and went looking for someone special. "Daddy" Jessy said rushing to his arms. "Thanks baby this means the world to me." Ken said. "I'm so sorry fo being such a brat before, I just didn't trust you or any man. I know better now." Jessy said as they started dancing. "Wow he can dance, Barbie." Diana said. "Yeah one of his hobbies and I barely tolerate it. Thank god Jessy loves to dance." Barbie said. They all sat down to dinner as Chele appeared. "Seen Tay?" Chele asked. "No not since he left the store with Ash." Zac said. "I wouldn't fill up on pizza. Almost done Zac?" Jessy said. "Yeah babe." Zac answered. "I'm going to go change my top. Be back down." Jessy said kissing him and heading to her room, singing "I never knew lonely could be so blue, I never knew lonely could tear you in two, I never loved someone like I love you, I never knew lonely til you." "Zac I think you turned my baby into a torch singer." Barbie teased. "Sorry Momma." Zac said. "Don't be sorry, baby. She finally feels again, I'm grateful." Barbie said a tear finding it's way down her face. "Yes is Ash there, I hope I have the right number." Jessy said. "Hello" Ash answered. "Ash this is Jessy, is Taylor still with you?" Jessy asked. "Hey Jessy what's up." Tay asked "You tell me. You're suppose to be her say five minutes ago. Chele wasn't too thrilled you weren't home." Jessy said. "Shit Ash you clock is set wrong. Jessy I'm sorry." Tay said. "Are you dressed? If so Zac and I can drop her off we're about ready to head out." Jessy said. "Would you? I'll get dressed here. Thanks Jessy." Tay said. "Hang on I'm going to have her pick you up so you can explain you're a jerk." Jessy said opening her window "Chele Tay's on the phone, ask Zac I think we can probably drop you off, I don't know where Ash lives." Jessy hollered and she hung up when she heard her voice. She changed into her victoria secret, angel set just for luck and wore her navy sailor outfit with the big white collar. "Wow Jessy you look great." Zac said. "Thanks hun" Jessy said. "I'm going to go change now. You look too good." Zac said heading across the yards. "Oh Jessy let me wear it." Chele asked. "But Zac went to change, because I was wearing this. Oh come one, we'll change next door. Bye everybody." Jessy said and they headed across the back yard. "Ouch. You look great Zach. We would look so great together if I was only going to stay in this, I'm trading with Chele okay?" Jessy explained. "I'm changing back." Zac said, heading upstairs. "Down hear in Mom's room." Jessy said unbuttoning on the way down the hall. They changed outfits, found Zac in the kitchen waiting. "Just don't kiss the wrong one now." Jessy teased and the loaded up and headed to Ash's.
