Part Seven

Andrea once again was the center of attention and not handling it too well. "You sit here sweetie." Gramma Bea said patting the seat next to her as lunch was announced. "I'd love to Gramma but there isn't room for Isaac. I really would like to see him for at least a minute or two. I'm having a hard time remembering what he looks like." Andrea replied turning to Grampa Hanson asking, "Isaac?" "No dear. He's over there." Grampa Hanson answered pointing towards Isaac and his brothers. "Wow he's hot. Are you sure? I go with him?" Andrea squealed.pointing at Isaac. "Yes dear that's the love of your life." Grampa Hanson replied giving her a little hug. "Whoa am I lucky." Andrea moaned rolling her eyes. "Here he comes you lucky little girl." Grampa Hanson shared. "Ahhhh. He's coming this way. How do I look?" Andrea squealed. "You look lovely sweetie. Simply lovely." Grampa Hanson replied. "You look positively stunning Andy." Isaac added. "Really? Thank you for saying so I... I...." Andrea replied, stuttering as she watched him take her hand in his and lift it to his lips, lightly kissing it. "I.. I... Isaac. I told you that's the love of your life Isaac." Grampa Hanson teased turning Andrea red faced. "You picking on my girl Grampa?" Isaac asked wrapping an arm around Andrea. "Uh huh. He's been teasing me." Andrea shared shaking her head yes. "What you teasing Andy about Grampa?" Isaac asked. "She says she hasn't seen much of you and doesn't remember what you look like. She was hinting she'd like to spend a little time with you." Grampa Hanson answered pointing at Andrea. "Is that true babe?" Isaac asked. "Uh huh." Andrea whispered shaking her head yes again before pouting and declaring, "But he didn't have to tease me about it." "She has a point there Grampa." Isaac shared trying hard not to laugh. "So you think it's funny huh?" Andrea squealed. "No babe." Isaac got out before he laughed heartily and was joined by his Grandfather. "Real funny. Not!!" Andrea whispered before turning and taking the chair next to Gramma Bea. "I thought you wanted to sit with Isaac dear." Gramma Bea questioned as she took her place. "I was mistaken." Andrea answered glaring at Isaac. "Oh boy we did it now." Grampa Hanson said noticing the look in her eye before nudging his grandson and nodding her way. "Babe you know we were only kidding." Isaac pleaded turning his attention to Andrea. "I'm sure." Andrea said sarcastically, rolling her eyes. "Babe you know we tease you because you're such a good sport. You're a blast." Isaac replied making his way to her side. "Thanks for reminding me why." Andrea whispered to not attract attention but as he neared she turned the other way avoiding eye contact. "Andy don't shut me out. Why what?" Isaac whispered kneeling beside her chair trying to get her to look at him. "Just drop it." Andrea whispered without looking his way. "No Andy. I finally got your point, 'It's not going to go away if we don't talk about.' That's what you kept telling me. I should have listened. Andy talk to me please." Isaac pleaded desperately trying to get her to acknowledge him. "I know this is none of my business but..." Gramma Bea said looking their way and gasping, "Such a sad little face. Andy what is it?" "They said it was time for lunch and they're not here. Why did they tell us it was time to eat if they weren't ready Gramma. I'm hungry." Andrea pouted trying to cover up what was really going with Isaac. "And you young man? Oh I know, she's hungry and you're down there praying they'll serve lunch soon." Gramma replied teasing Isaac. "Yes ma'am. That's exactly what I'm doing." Isaac said slowing rising then quickly dropping back to his knees, adding, "Amen." "Such a good boy. He loves you so much. I mean how many others are down praying for lunch to be served." Gramma Bea teased with a hearty chuckle. "Nobody Gramma just Isaac. He..." Andrea started to reply. "He loves you so much he'd even pray for lunch because you're hungry. And don't you forget it." Gramma Bea declared. "I won't Gramma. I was talking to Grampa Lawyer and he reminded me how much Isaac loves me. I can't believe I needed reminding. I'm not suppose to ever forget how meant for each other we are." Andrea answered. "I do love you Andy." Isaac gasped falling to his knees again before continuing, "Andrea I love you more than I ever thought possible. I know we have problems but I swear we'll make it through them. Just give me a chance to prove it to you." "Oh Isaac. I love you too but." Andrea began to answer. "No buts Andy. We are so meant to be. Andy.." Isaac interrupted then stopped and lifted her hand in his, gazing up at her before continuing, "I've wanted to ask you this for quite sometime but I wasn't sure if you wanted to hear it. I'm still not sure but I'm not going to wonder about it anymore. Andrea will you marry me? Andy you're everything to me. The thought of life without you is unbearable. Andy say yes. Be my wife, my partner in life. Together we can do anything." "Isaac you don't have to do this. I didn't mean to pressure you honest." Andrea whispered. "What? I don't get it. I thought this is what you wanted?" Isaac answered angrily as those around them gasped and turned their way. "You think I want you to ask me to marry you because you think it's what I want? Ummmm Wrong! I was hoping you'd ask me to marry you because it's what you want." Andrea answered pulling her hand from his then turning to his grandmother, "I'm sorry Gramma. I shouldn't have come. I didn't mean to spoil your day this way." With that Andrea rose before anyone could say a thing and quickly left the room. "Andrea stop. Andy wait. I didn't mean it like that." Isaac called out in hot pursuit. "And where do you think you're going?" Grampa Lawyer asked as Andrea made it to the hallway, adding, "I thought he might pull something like this." "I don't believe him. Did you hear him? 'I thought this is what you wanted.' He had the gaul to ask me to marry him because it's what he thinks I want. A fricking pity proposal." Andrea answered back loudly. "It is not a pity proposal." Isaac argued catching up to the two. "Oh yeah. What do you call it? It definitely isn't your burning desire. Oh I know, it isn't a pity proposal, it's a panic proposal. She left me for two days, if I don't propose she may leave me for good. Boy that makes it's a lot easier to swallow. Maybe I should reconsider. NOT!" Andrea accused spinning around and getting right in his face for the first time in a long time. "Andy It's not that." Isaac answered in such a calming voice. "No. Well I'll tell you what it is not. It is not going to change things." Andrea declared as the realization of her words took her breath away. All of their problems, the pain of the last few days without him came rushing back, "I've got you sweetie." Grampa Lawyer exclaimed as she collapsed. "Andy are you okay?" Isaac gasped patting the back of her hand. "Come on sweetie. Don't do this Andy." Grampa Lawyer said holding her up. "Andy." Isaac said lightly patting her cheek. "I think I need to sit down." Andrea whispered as she came to. "Over here." Grampa Lawyer said lifting her and moving to the chair in the corner. "You okay sweetie?" Grampa Lawyer asked. "I'm really hungry. If they'd just served lunch this wouldn't have happened." Andrea answered hiding her face in her hands slowly shaking her head no.
