Part Six

"I'm speechless. Andrea this is the most precious thing I have ever seen, ever imagined. I can't thank you enough." Gramma Bea declared when she noticed her. "You are more than welcome Gramma. We love you so much and it just seemed the perfect way to say it, to show you how we feel about you." Andrea replied. "I love you too sweetie. This is such a treasure just like you." Gramma Bea said as a tear broke free and started it's way down her cheek. "Bea dear you're crying." Grampa Hanson said making his way to her, adding, "Show me what she has done?" "No it's mine to treasure." Gramma Bea squealed, adding, "I'll cry if I want to." "Yeah Grampa." Andrea squealed before breaking into song, 'It's her party and she'll cry if she wants to, cry if she wants to." as Taylor, Zac and Isaac joined in on the song. "Yeah what they sang." Gramma Bea declared shaking a finger at her husband. "Boy you're in trouble now." Grampa Lawyer teased, adding, "And she doesn't even now you helped Andy." "Ssshhh you big mouth. I'm in enough hot water without your help." Grampa Hanson said turning his way. "Oops." Grampa Lawyer said shrugging his shoulders. "You what?" Gramma Bea squealed. "Now you gone and done it." Grampa Hanson accused. "Sorry man. At least it's you and not me." Grampa Lawyer replied. "Don't believe a word he says." Grampa Hanson said making his way to his wife. "Good. I can't imagine you doing anything so nice." Gramma Bea teased. "Well just maybe I did help. What is it?" Grampa Hanson asked. "Like you helped Mr. What Is It?" Gramma Bea teased as she turned around the collage. In the center was a recent picture of the two of them surrounded by the images of their wedding, their family as it grew with each new addition. By the picture of the birth of each of their children was the image of that child as a child, graduating high school, marrying and their family. "How wonderful. Andy it's wonderful sweetie." Grampa Hanson gasped. "Thanks Grampa. Gramma I really couldn't have done without his help. Remember the day you caught me in the family album? If it wasn't for Grampa's help I never would have pulled this off." Andrea shared. "Oh Andrea this is marvelous. Please tell me you'll do one for me." Diana asked after admiring the collage. "That's not fair. I want one too." another Aunt squealed. "Well she's mine." Diana replied wrapping an arm around Andrea. "Not fair. Why'd you have to fall in love with her son?" someone asked. "Somethings are just meant to be." Andrea replied, continuing, "Gramma the other gifts. They're from you to your children." "What?" Gramma Bea asked looking at the gift tags before adding, "She's right! Here these are for you." Andrea was soon the center of attention and everyone's gratitude. "Well you did it this time sweetie." Grampa Lawyer said wrapping an arm around her. "I think your right. All this attention. Sheeesh." Andrea moaned. "I need to steal her for a little while." Grampa Lawyer declared leading Andrea out of the room to everyone's complaint. "Oh thank you Grampa. I don't think I could have taken much more." Andrea sighed as they made their way to the sanctuary of the quiet hall. "Out here. We should be safe out here." Grampa Lawyer said leading her to the courtyard. "I so needed this. Man who'd have thought a present would raise such a commotion." Andrea complained, adding, "If one more Aunt had pinched my cheek, I'm afraid I would have decked her." "I had that feeling that's why I stole you away." Grampa Lawyer said leading her to a bench. "Boo hoo. I thought you whisked me away to be alone with me. Maybe you don't love me." Andrea pouted. "You know I love you." Grampa Lawyer replied wrapping an arm around her and giving her a big hug. "Yeah I do but it's so nice to hear." Andrea sighed laying her head against his chest. "So tell me, why did you leave him? No, don't bother I know the answer to that one. What I really want to know is why are you here?" Grampa Lawyer asked. "What? Where else would I be? Gramma Bea didn't do anything." Andrea replied. "So what did Isaac do this time?" Grampa Lawyer asked. "What? Nothing. I don't know. It's just.. Well it's... Grampa it's just I don't like who I am lately. It has nothing to do with Isaac." Andrea answered. "Nothing to do with Isaac. Sorry I don't buy it sweetie. Everything about you has to do with Isaac just like everything about him has to do with you." Grampa Lawyer replied. "Yeah you're right. Such a wise man." Andrea sighed before continuing, "Grampa how did I let this happen? I mean how did I go from that toughy that didn't let anything stop her from doing something to a wuss who doesn't do anything? My whole life revolves around Isaac and the band. I don't see my friends any more. I quit school and take classes over the internet. I mean I even turned down shopping with his Mom the other day to sit at home waiting for him to return from that interview in New York. What's happened to me?" Andrea asked ashamed of what she was admitting to. "No you don't." Grampa Lawyer argued but as he realized what she had said was true, he gasped, "Oh my god it's true. How did we let this happen?" "I don't know Grampa. I didn't mean to but some how I did." Andrea replied. "Of course you didn't mean to sweetie." Grampa Lawyer insisted hugging her tight. "Grampa?" Andrea whispered. "What sweetie?" Grampa Lawyer replied. "Grampa I don't... I think we..." Andrea said searching for the right words. "What is it sweetie? You know you can tell me anything, right?" Grampa asked. "Yeah Grampa I know I can tell you anything and that you will still love me." Andrea insisted pulling back to look up at him and smile, adding, "I know how lucky I am to have moved across the street from you. You talk about meant to be! I am so meant to love you and be loved by you." "I do love you Andy." Grampa Lawyer said as they embraced then whispered, "So how do I fix this you don't like you thing? You know I can't have you not liking my special girl." "Can't have that. Grampa do you think you can love someone too much?" Andra asked. "No. How can you love someone too much?" Grampa Lawyer answered wondering where her question came from, adding, "What are you thinking sweetie?" "I was wondering if maybe I loved Isaac too much and that's why I don't like me? You know I do anything he wants, suggests, even thinks. I never consider if I want to I just do it because it's what he wants." Andrea shared cuddling back in his arms. "What do you mean sweetie?" Grampa Lawyer asked kissing the top of her head. "You know, Isaac suggested that my going to the University was causing conflicts with the band scheduling interviews and stuff so I just up and quit and started taking my classes over the internet so I didn't interfer with his life. Grampa I really liked my classes. I liked my proffesors and I really like my classmates. Do you have any idea how hard it was for me to leave Isaac? I'm fussing and fuming, so mad at him and then wham it hits me. I have nowhere to go. No friends. It was so hard to show up at Jessy's to ask her to stay. I haven't given her the time of day in almost three months. The last time I talked to her was to tell her I was quitting the University and why. She didn't agree with my decision. Boy she didn't agree." Andrea explained. "So you want to go back to school huh?" Grampa Lawyer asked. "No not really. At least not anymore. Maybe I thought it was important but it really isn't." Andrea answered. "So what is important?" Grampa Lawyer asked. "Isaac. His happiness." Andrea answered then moaned, "Oh god I am pathetic." "You are not pathetic. Why shouldn't Isaac and his happiness be important to you? You love him and he loves you." Grampa Lawyer insisted. "Grampa when you asked why I was here, I sort of didn't tell the whole truth. I came because I couldn't let Isaac face everyone alone." Andrea shared. "You couldn't let him face the music alone huh? Hmmmm." Grampa replied with a pensive look and as he slowly stroked his chin in deep thought he added, "Maybe you are pathetic." "Grampa. How could you? I thought you said you loved me?" Andrea squealed. "I do Andy but you have to agree that's a little overboard. You leave him to make a point but before you can, you decide you can't let him face his own family." Grampa Lawyer replied. "What are you saying? I shouldn't have come?" Andrea fretted. "No sweetie. I didn't mean it like that Andy." Grampa Lawyer insisted. "But what if you're right? I am so confused." Andrea moaned. "Such a sad little face. Sweetie I'd do about anything to make this all better." Grampa Lawyer whispered kissing her cheek. "I'm a real bummer aren't I?" Andrea sighed. "Never. Even sad and blue you are my sweet little girl and I love you more than you will ever know." Grampa Lawyer shared hugging her tight. "Oh Grampa." Andrea sighed. "Sorry Dad but I need to steal her away." Walker shared heading their way. "No she's mine." Grampa Lawyer teased. "No I'm his." Andrea teased. "Well my Mother insists on sharing with everyone how special you are to her and I think she wants you there when she does." Walker explained. "Hmmm." Andrea replied. "Hmmmm." Grampa Lawyer added. "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out." Walker teased. "Good because I'm not one." Grampa Lawyer teased back. "Me either." Andrea added and they all laughed before making their way back in side.
