Tell Me About It

Part Nine

Once at the ranch, Cody dialed Isaac's cell, "Hey." he answered. "Hey to you. Hun did you find grandpa? You know I just remember we had invitied Ash, do you think he'll still want to come? Ask Tay what he thinks." Cody asked. "Whoa, slow down. Grampa first, yes we found him and he's on his way should be there soon." Isaac answered and he heard her relay the message to his mother. "Cody we're close to Ash's so we are just going to stop by and make him come. He's part of the family, he'll fit right in." Isaac shared and after a few more turns he pulled into Ash's driveway, "Got to go babe, we're at Ash's. See you in probably twenty minutes, that is if you have no more errands for me." Isaac shared. "Nope everything is taken care of. Carmelita is here and helping Louisa so everything will be just fine. If you hurry you can go on trail ride with the folks, they're putting one together. Got to go, more guests. See you soon hun." Cody said hanging up. The five found Ash at home, "I mean it Ash it's mostly family and you are family." Taylor insisted again. "Taylor, you know how you felt about being with Isaac and Cody and Zac and Jessy, maybe he doesn't want to be reminded. It doesn't mean he isn't happy for you babe. Tay please don't push it." Chele intervened Tay's badgering Ash to join them. "Ash there is no way you will be the only guy without a date, I have four brothers and they haven't had time to meet anyone yet." Jessy added. "Really Jessy?" Ash asked and for the first time there was a hint that he wanted to go. "Yeah really Ash, one a year younger than you, my twin and two younger than me. They're into roping and bull riding." Jessy shared. "If you don't ride Cody will teach you. Man she had Zoe in a saddle but I think the horse was so trained that even though she pulled on the reins he just followed the horse in front of him and ignored her." Isaac explained and they all chuckled. "I'll go." Ash answered and they loaded up and headed to the ranch. "Who are they?" Isaac asked as he pulled up to the main house. "I'm definitely not related to them, I'd remember." Zac blurted out, immediately turning red faced. "Hmm so you're saying you notice girls in tight pants huh?" Jessy asked. "And remember them huh?" Chele added. "Good point Sis. I'm so glad you're home where you belong. Just think of the stuff he'd get away with without you here." Jessy said opening the door the minute the car stopped and headed towards the girls, introducing herself and heading around the house with them. "Jessy wait." Zac called after her, scrambling to catch up. "Wow." Zac said as he reached the corner of the house, stopping in his tracks. "What? Hey Zac what's up?" Taylor asked as they all made their way to him. "Cool. Hey Sis." Chele called out as they turned the corner of the house and saw the crowd of cowboys, cowgirls, along with family. "Hey babe. Where'd the rodeo come from?" Isaac asked. "Isaac you made it. Umm you know Jessy's older brothers, well they're into this youth rodeo thing, what was it again?" Cody asked grabbing Ben's arm. "High School Rodeo, they have it all over. We were in it back home but it was never this big." Ben answered. "You know, no you wouldn't. It's like High School football, basketball. This is the group the boys just joined and they needed a place to practice and since their Momma is running the place I said sure, why not." Cody explained introducing the clubs leader and doctor. "Well they think of everything don't they." Isaac said as they spent the next couple of hours watch them practicing and Zac trailing after Jessy begging to be forgiven. "Give it up Zac. I'm not sure why you keep apologizing, oh wait I do remember." Jessy said once again walking away after glaring at him. "Ouch. What's that about son or don't I want to know." Walker asked. "I put my foot in my mouth again. I joked that a couple of the cowgirls weren't cousins because I'd never seen them and I would have remembered meeting them." Zac confessed. "Whoa. Boy when you going to learn to think before you speak." Walker gasped. "Gee thanks Dad, just what I needed." Zac said shaking his head no. "Zac just apologize. Jessy loves you son, she'll forgive you." Walker suggested. "I have been ever since it came out of my mouth but she won't listen, just glares and walks off, like she did when I first said it." Zac explained. "She's hurt Zac and I don't blame her. Give her time to cool down. Just keep telling her you're sorry until she listens." Walker suggested and Zac headed after her again. "Jessy please listen." Zac asked approaching the group she was standing with. "Isn't he, yeah, he's Zac Hanson." one of the girls asked and suddenly they all headed his way except Jessy who was now surrounded by just guys. "So what's so great about him?" one asked. "Well besides the fact that he's totally hot, he is very talented. Plays drums as well as anyone I've ever heard and I've even researched drummers back to the 50's. He and his brothers are very creative song writers. I really don't know how much money they've made but a number one single, four albums, two videos, and a successful national tour is probably more than what we'll make in a lifetime. But most important they enjoy what they do." Jessy answered him as Zac listened. "So if he's all that why aren't you all over him?" someone asked. "I don't have to try and get his attention, I have his heart and he has mine." Jessy answered. "Yeah I can see." he replied and Jessy turned to see the love in Zac's eyes. "So did you introduce yourself Sis." Ben asked joining the group. "Umm no didn't get to that point, excuse me a minute." Jessy said making her way to Zac. "I'm sorry." they said in unison. "Zac there was no reason for me to get my nose out of joint, they were just words and I think I probably read more into it then you meant." Jessy apologized leaving him speechless as the girls grew impatient. "You better start signing before the natives get restless." Jessy teased lightly kissing his cheek before making her way to Isaac and Cody. "Big brother can you go help Zac?" Jessy called out to him. "What you still mad at him?" Isaac asked his back still to her. "No. He's being mobbed by a bunch of girls and I'm afraid I'll deck one if I try to help him." Jessy answered. "Daddy. Daddy go help Zac." Jessy called, sending him on his way, joined by Isaac and Taylor as Jessy was joined by Cody and Chele. "Sis don't get upset, they're just fans." Chele reminded. "Yeah I know." Jessy replied smiling when she noticed Zac looking at her. The look in his eyes said it all, he adored her. "So what's so special about her?" one of the girls asked. "Jessy? I don't know where to start. Um she's my best friend. She's so smart. Man I think she can do just about anything. She's beautiful inside and out. But you know when I take her in my arms, nothing else matters, just us."Zac answered heaving a big sigh. "I bet you can't ride that bull." the girl taunted. "Are you talking to me? Which bull?" Jessy asked. "That bull right there. The big ugly one. Bet you can't ride him." she wagered. "So did you get hit in he head?" Jessy asked. "What does that mean? You are chicken and trying to change the subject." the girl accused. "No I wasn't. You have to be touched in the head if you think I would be afraid to ride Bulldozer. Man I've been around him all his life." Jessy said walking to the fence, climbing up and over. She walked up to the bull and put her arms around his neck. "She didn't mean anything by the big ugly one comment. For some reason she thinks I can't ride you." Jessy said bouncing up onto his back and the walked around the pen as everyone laughed. "Didn't think she could do it huh?" someone teased. "That's not riding a bull." the girl insisted. "What you talking about? See these things down here. That makes him a bull and I'm on top of him and we're moving. I'm riding a bull." Jessy teased. "No like the real cowboys do." she insisted. "You don't give up do you. Hey you in the red shirt. Yeah you." Jessy shouted to the cowboy about to mount a bull who asked me? "I need to prove a point to a real airhead. She says I can't ride a bull like a real cowboy. Are you a real cowboy or a fake one?" Jessy asked and the whole place roared. "I'm a real cowboy Miss." he answered. "Good a real cowboy about to ride a bull. Can I have cuts?" Jessy asked and the place was a buzz. Not only was he a real cowboy but he was the top high school Bullrider in Oklahoma. When Momma said it was okay, Jessy climbed off bulldozer and headed to a group of bullriders who outfitted her in a pair of chaps and a glove. "Zac can you get me my hat out of the back of Sis's car?" Jessy asked and Zac soon appeared. "Babe be careful okay?" Zac asked placing her hat on her head and kissing her. "Always hun." Jessy said and headed to the chute. "You sure you know what you're doing Missy?" the cowboy asked. But before she could answer, "Here sis your safety vest." Ben shouted as he neared. "Did he call you sis?" he asked. "Yeah he did." answered Nick as Josh and Sam also joined her at the chute and cheered her on. "So if you're all up here, who's going to get me off this sucker in nine seconds?" Jessy asked. "We'll be there. Just want to make sure your okay first." Nick answered. "Well let's get this show on the road." Jessy said. Nick and Ben mounted and headed to the other side of the arena waiting for their sister. "Let's ride." Jessy hollered and the chute open and the bull lunged forward, kicked up it's heels and then turned sharply leeping from the chute. The bull was ideal, a lot of action and Jessy had a real good ride. The crowds cheered her on and the biggest smile came over her face when the horn sounded and she saw her brothers ride up. Ben rode along side and picked her up as Nick pulled the bull strap and the bull headed for the pen. The crowds cheered her on as Ben road her over near Zac and she scaled the fence, climbing down into his arms. "Man Jessy you did it." Zac said into her ear hoping she could hear him. "You sound surprised." Jessy shared whispering in his ear. "I...I....Man Jessy." Zac said searching for words to explain, finishing, "Jessy I just know I couldn't do that. I know I'd never try. I mean, I have no death wish and that definitely could kill you." Zac said as he turned her pointing at the next rider who was thrown to the ground hard. "Oh Zac he just doesn't know how to ride. Honest Zac it's not that dangerous if you know what you're doing." Jessy insisted turning back to face him, continuing, "Zac I don't have a death wish either. Yeah there is always the chance of something going wrong but you can say that about anything." "Yeah right." Zac moaned shaking his head no. "So don't believe me. I ain't lying." Jessy grumbled turning and heading off. "Wait Jessy.
