Jessy finally woke around noon and figured it must have been wishful thinking, Zac being there when she came home earlier. She headed in to a nice long hot shower to get rid of two weeks worth of dirt and grime. She dried her hair and decided a dip in the pool is what she deserved before cleaning out the trailer. Jessy slipped on her bright blue bikini and matching skirt grabbed her cd player popping in Momma's Vince Gill to see if the songs he had sang at the show were on it. Jessy bopped her way to the kitchen and grabbed a large water before two stepping her way out onto the patio really getting down to the music, singing along to 'Oklahoma Borderline' when she looked up and saw her family, Zac's family, workers and guests from 'Touch Of Hope' all screaming "Welcome Home" "Who? Momma did you, you know I hate surprises. Sis?" Jessy glared then turned red faced as she realized it was Zac. "Dang Zac, scare a girl to death. You sure you're glad to have me home?" Jessy teased hugging him. "I'm sorry if it scared you." Zac whispered. "Then you were here this morning. Man I convinced myself I was dreaming." Jessy whispered. "Pretty good dream you had there." Zac said kissing her deeply. "Yep that was you, I was kissing." Jessy teased before going to greet the rest of their guests. "How's my dog girl. Did you keep him happy?" Jessy asked picking up Zoe as Mackie grabbed her hand and they raced to Scotty and the four played. "Come on boy, let's swim." Jessy hollered as she raced to the pool, slipping off her sandals and skirt. "Ready set go." Jessy hollered before she and Scotty dove in and swam to the shallow end and raced up the steps, "Clear the area, it's time to shake" she said as she and Scotty shook the water off and everyone laughed. The kids jumped in the pool calling Scotty who dove back in, "Now you know why he's so yellow. Bleach him out in the pool." Jessy said to everyone's amusement, as the kids raced up the steps with him to do the shake the race back and jump to do it over and over until Scotty was tired and laid next to Jessy resting his head in her lap, "I missed you too fella." Jessy said hugging him and he licked her face. Soon Zoe was laying on him and hugging and kissing him. When she got up to play, Scotty was torn between Jessy and Zoe, "Go play with her boy." Jessy said and Zoe squealed as they chased each other, played fetch, even just hanging out together. "I'm afraid she's fallen in love with him. He'd come over and play with her all day long the two of them in the back yard just like that." Diana said. "Great so the two of us will be miserable when you go to LA, me missing Zac, Scotty missing Zoe." Jessy said. "Jessy come with us? Zac's so afraid to ask but that's all he wants. You could bring Scotty." Diana asked. "Zac's not afraid to ask he asked and knows it won't work. I've got the World's coming up and I've got a lot of work to do, so the most I can do is come to LA now for a few days. I have trainers coming in the end of the week and I have to be here. If it would help with Zoe, you're more than welcome to take Scotty. I haven't seen him that happy since I was that innocent." Jessy said. "I'm really sorry things worked out this way." Diana said. "Yeah I always heard love hurts, but this is the pits. All my luck he won't even make it to the World's." Jessy said getting up and walking to the pasture petting Buster and Beauty, filling their tank before racing to the barn and bringing them both a treat. "You hiding from me?" Zac asked. "Don't we think a lot of ourself." Jessy said. "You've played with the kids, your dog, now the horses. When's my turn?" Zac asked. "So you want to play hide n seek, tag, how about peek a boo." Jessy teased. "No I want to play big kid games, like where will I kiss you next." Zac said kissing the back of her hand. "Awww" Jessy said lifting his hand to her lips and kissing it as Zac lead her to the barn and up to the loft. "Zac Hanson you planned this." Jessy said looking at the blanket, basket, flowers as Zac turned on some music and they danced. "As much as I love you for this, you happened to have filled my backyard with guests Zac and it's rude to disappear like this. Maybe later." Jessy said as she turned. "Jessy what did I do?" Zac asked desperation in his voice. "What did you do, I don't understand Zac?" Jessy said looking back. "You've avoided me like the plague. Is it because I gave you a surprise party, I heard you tell Momma, Sis." Zac asked. "No Zac, you didn't do anything." Jessy said. "Then what is it? Something is wrong, just tell me?" Zac pleaded. "Later Zac, I, I just can't handle you right now, I've got a backyard full of guests that I've avoided long enough." Jessy said. "You can't handle me? What the hell does that mean?" Zac said angrily. "Zac I asked you please, not now hun and don't be angry, hurt, any of that. I love you Zac, more than you know and I just don't want to get into it now. I'll meet you right here as soon as our guests have left, I promise." Jessy begged. "I don't understand but yeah, what choice do I have." Zac complained. "Oh hun don't be angry." Jessy said racing to him and kissing him deeply. "Jessy" Zac moaned. "Here as soon as the guests leave." Jessy said racing down the steps and back to the backyard. The looks between them rest of the afternoon had everyone curious, one minute Zac would glare at Jessy, the next minute he'd be wrapped around her and they'd be laughing. Soon the guest from the Center loaded up and headed out and it was just family. Soon the boys were headed to a party taking Avie and Jessie. Isaac and Becky were chaperoning. Tay and Chele were watching Mackie and Zoe while his folks and Momma and their manager went to dinner. "Zac, I think we're alone." Jessy said mentioning her family members and their plans and then Zac went through his family and their plans. "You know what, you're right." Zac said and they laughed, clearing up while everyone dressed to leave. "I'm chilled suddenly, open the hot tub for me?" Jessy asked standing in front of the fridge putting the leftovers away. "We'll see you later." Chele said as Momma headed to her car. "Umm Sis. You and Becky, do you think you could accidentally honk the horn when you get home. Just in case we decided to do something that we shouldn't be doing." Jessy asked. "Jessy just make sure kiddo. But yeah we can accidentally beep the horn when we get home. It's easy, just takes getting a little frisky and the horn goes blaring. Real embarassing at times." Chele laughed heading out, adding, "Just be sure Sis, you can't undo it." "What can't you undo?" Zac asked undoing her skirt and tossing it on a chair. "Nothing hun." Jessy said as lifted her up and carried her to the hot tub. She moaned and groaned as the hot water hit her. "You don't moan and groan like that for me." Zac whined. "Awwww poor Zac. Hun rub my shoulders." Jessy asked as she rose and sat in his lap. "Man driving straight through was a, not a fun thing." Jessy said and giggled. "Came back with a potty mouth huh?" Zac teased. "Look who's talking Mr. what the hell does that mean." Jessy said as Zac untied the neck string to her top and worked on her neck. Jessy moaned as he worked out all the knots, working his way down her back, untying her top, sending it sailing across the water. As he finished, "My turn." Zac said lifting her, rising then placing her in his spot then sitting on her lap. "Gawd Zac you're a big boy." Jessy moaned as he sat down. "You okay?" Zac said getting up. "Sit. I'll tell you before I pass out." Jessy teased. "Gawd Zac this ain't gonna work you're too tall. Up and let me sit behind you?" Jessy asked. She rose and when Zac sat down she wrapped herself around him. "Man Jessy I feel better already and you haven't laid a hand on me." Zac laughed. "Oh you like that huh?" Jessy asked hugging him tight, kissing his cheek before she started rubbing his neck and shoulders, "Zac earlier when I said I didn't want to talk about it, Zac I wasn't mad just sad. I'm scared we're just now back and you're off and by the time you're back I'll be gone. I'm just scared is all." Jessy said leaning her forehead onto the back of Zac's head as she rubbed his shoulders. "Scared about what Jessy. You know I love you and I know you love me." Zac said. "I know Zac, but.." Jessy stopped. "Jessy I'm not Nick. If we're separated and I can't take it anymore I'm not going to sleep with someone else. I don't want someone else, I only want you. Jessy if I can't take it anymore I'm coming home to you, or having you come to me. I wouldn't consider sleeping with someone else. How would that help, it would only ruin everything. How could Nick be so dumb to think it would be okay?" Zac said pulling her around, sitting her in his lap. "Jessy I could never do that to you, I know how it would hurt you and I love you too much to hurt you." Zac said pressing his lips to hers tenderly. "Zac I don't mean to treat you like you're Nick, it's, it's I'm just scared. I know you love me Zac but I thought Nick loved me, he said so. He swore, he promised and he still hurt me Zac and he's still trying." Jessy said. "But you fought back Jessy and sooner or later he'll get the hint, he can't be that stupid." Zac said and Jessy started laughing at the thought of how stupid Nick was. The two talked, laughed and hugged all the doubts away deciding that Jessy would go to LA with the family on Monday and fly back Wednesday night and Zac would come home weekends, swearing he wouldn't miss the World's for anything. From the hot tub, they took a quick dip and headed to loft for Zac's romantic surprise. "Jessy, I love you with my heart and soul forever and a day. Jessy I'm so sorry our lives have us going in different directions right now just remember how much I love you, and I'm always here." Zac said taking her hand in his placing her hand on his heart as he placed his hand on her heart. "Yeah Zac, we are always connected. I love you too Zac and I promise to love you for you, not Nick. Zac I'm sorry, I don't mean to treat you like him. I know you love me and your love is true." Jessy confessed. "Jessy? Love of my life, will you make my life complete and say you'll be my wife?" Zac asked then bent down and opened the picnic basket and pulled out a small black velvet box. As he looked up to her, "Jessy will you marry me?" Zac asked. "Zac Hanson, Yes, oh yes. I can't wait to be your wife. Zac how are we going to tell your fans. They'll hate me, I just know they will. I'd hate me." Jessy worried as Zac took her in his arms to dance. "You worry too much." Zac teased. "Yeah what the hell does that mean, you don't worry. No not you." Jessy teased as the dance ended and they cleaned up and made their way to Jessy's room to shower and dress for bed. They crawled in bed to cuddle and read about the World's competition as Jessy fell asleep. Zac turned and looked at the clock "Whoa 9:30pm aren't we just the life of the party." he said kissing the top of her head, finishing his reading before turning out the light and falling to sleep himself.
A simple gate left opened changed so many lives that day, as Hanson arrived at the LA studio, they held a press conference introducing Becky, Chele and Jessy announcing that Jessy was competing for her fifth World Trick Rider title and that the band would perform the National Anthem at the event. Jessy returned home to practice as the guys finished recording. Both families were at the World's rooting for Jessy as she took her fifth title and announced that she would be retiring from trick riding to marry and raise a family. Within the next few years, all three couples were married. Isaac and Becky who married first moved to the old house in town but before their first child was born, Isaac had built a house next to his folk's. Taylor and Chele married after Tay built a house at the clump of trees where everything changed that day. Chele took over MOE, the fan club and merchandising, making Hanson as popular as 'Mmmbop' did in the beginning. The band's popularity sky rocketed, as Chele shared their lives, even a pregnant Becky and Isaac photo, pictures of the house Taylor designed for her, a picture of Jessy's first day at Tulsa University, and Zac and Jessy's special wedding issue. Zac and Jessy married a year after she retired, when Zac finished school. Jessy enrolled at Tulsa University when she retired, preparing to home school their children besides opening a riding school down the road where they built a new house for Momma and the boys.
