Poison Ivy -Eleven-

The newspapers were filled with the story of Jessy and Nick, one complete with a picture of the slap. "Momma she's going to have it so hard up there alone. Why did we have to chose now to start the next album?" Zac complained. "Jessy will be fine Zac. She has you now. I hope Nick is out of Calgary though, she runs into him again. I don't care to think what she'd do." Barbara said as the phone rang. "Jessy?" Zac answered. "Yeah hun. Zac thanks for coming up yesterday. It meant the world to me." Jessy said. "No problem Jessy. If I forgot to tell you I love you." Zac said. "I heard that rumor somewhere before." Jessy teased. "Babe I gotta tell you something." Zac said seriously. "Zac what's wrong?" Jessy asked anxiously. "Jessy you slapping Nick is all over the place. Some even have a picture of him kissing you and you slapping him babe." Zac explained. "Oh how embarassing for you. Zac I'm sorry. I didn't think I just wanted him to never kiss me again is all" Jessy said. "I know baby, don't worry about embarassing me. I'm proud of you Jessy. Avoid him if you can babe." Zac asked. "No problem, he's the last person I want to meet." Jessy said. The balance of the week went about the same, Jessy called Zac at her house in the morning, Jessy called Zac at his house in the early evening, and Zac called her at bedtime and would talk until she fell asleep. The shows all went well and Jessy received nothing but good press the balance of the week and even made Entertainment Tonight when she had gone to a Vince Gill performance because he was Momma's favorite and when introduced, "My Momma sure adores you. You know she'd just die if we sang a duet." Jessy said. "What's Momma's favorite?" Vince asked. "Oh Momma's loves all your music but I love 'Never Knew Lonely' most of all." Jessy said and the two sang together, thrilling the audience. "Little lady you can sing with me anytime you want." Vince said. "Thanks Vince, but I have a boyfriend to do all my singing with. He's in the business and it isn't Nick Carter. He ever kisses me like that again and he'll be singing soprano." Jessy said and everyone laughed. Later that night when Zac called she explained everything, "Only two more shows and I'm on my way home." Jessy said. "Back home where you belong and we have all of three days before I have to head to LA." Zac said. "When did this happen?" Jessy asked. "Earlier tonight. They figure we have enough for a whole album and want to get it down." Zac explained. "For how long Zac?" Jessy asked. "Maybe three weeks." Zac answered. "No Zac." Jessy said disappointment in her voice, finishing, "That's when I leave for the World's. God Zac this can't be happening." "Babe I'm sorry, I didn't mean for it to happen." Zac said. "Zac I know that, I'm just disappointed is all hun, I don't blame you. The whole family is probably going huh?" Jessy asked. "Yeah babe." Zac answered hearing Jessy's cries. "Babe don't cry." Zac pleaded. "I can't help it Zac." Jessy mumbled through her tears. "I shouldn't have told you. I'm sorry Baby." Zac said. "You had to tell me sometime, I think I would notice in three days and you disappeared." Jessy said starting to giggle. "Man can't put nothing by you can I?" Zac asked. "No Zac. I really think I would notice not being hugged and kissed suddenly and I'm bound to figure out you're missing." Jessy laughed. They talked about all the what if's but with the upcoming World's Jessy couldn't see getting away for more than a few day. "We'll manage somehow Zac. I gotta get up and do chores, I have a interview at 10 and have to have Buster ready so bye hun." Jessy said. "Talk to you tonight babe." Zac said hanging up. The last time they spoke was the following morning because the minute her last show was done she packed up and headed for home and drove straight through finally giving up and pulling into rest area, getting the horses out and exercising them, walking them while she dialed home. "Jessy?" Zac asked answering the phone. "Yeah babe it's me. I'm getting closer there's only one state between us." Jessy said. "Man Jessy how long you been driving?" Zac asked. "I don't know, I left after the last show and have been driving ever since. I'm walking the horses now and I'm going to sleep a little then I'll be on my way to you." Jessy said and they talked until Jessy had the horses loaded back up and headed to bed. Jessy slept four hours and hit the road again making her way through the flatlands of Kansas, and into Oklahoma closing in on Tulsa. She pulled into the driveway a little after 4am, unloading Buster and Beauty into the pasture, filling the water tank before making her way to bed in the dark, dropping her shirt as she closed her door, then her bra a few steps later, stopping at the end of her bed to slip out of her jeans before collapsing onto the bed. "Jessy?" Zac woke startled but relieved she was home. "Zac, you, you're, oh Zac." Jessy squealed throwing her arms around him. "I've missed you so much." Zac said rolling on top of her, kissing her deeply. "Zac I didn't think to lock the door" Jessy said watching as Zac headed to the door and she heard the tumblers click into place. As he made his was back to bed, Jessy slipped under the covers, holding them back for Zac to slide into bed. Her heart raced faster and faster the closer he got, her skin coming alive as he slipped into bed next to her, pressing his lips to hers. Zac kissed her longer and harder with more passion then he had ever felt for her before, "You better get some sleep now." Zac said holding her close. "I am tired Zac. I'm so glad to.." Jessy said as she fell asleep in his arms. Zac woke and slipped out of bed around 8 and arranged a homecoming party.
