Jessy caught up with the rest of the rodeo on the Interstate and they caravanned their way to Cheyenne, pulling into the fairgrounds around midnight. Jessy quickly changed into jeans and boots and got Buster and Beauty out of the trailer and led them around before putting up their fence. She turned the horses loose and headed in to call Zac. Jessy dialed the number and was grabbing something to eat and drink from the fridge, "Jessy?" Zac answered. "Yeah Zac, I'm here, horses taken care of and I'm trying to find something to eat." Jessy said grabbing a yogurt and bottle of water. "Man Zac, hang on, someone's at the door. Hey Bobby. I got everything done." Jessy said. "Okay see ya." Bobby said. "Hey, you gonna take me to breakfast?" Jessy asked. "Breakfast morning. Yep." Bobby said. "See ya then. Tell your Dad thanks for sending you to check on me. Bye. Zac you there hun?" Jessy asked. "You okay alone?" Zac asked. "Zac, Buster and Beauty are right outside my door. Nobody but Bobby can get in to my door because they won't let anyone else near them." Jessy explained and the two talked for another hour before Jessy finally put on Zac's tee shirt and boxers he had worn and crawled into bed, taking in the smell of him. "Talk to you in the morning babe. Momma and I got a hot date for breakfast." Zac said. "Night Zac. I love you." Jessy said. "I love you too Jessy. Sleep tight." Zac said before he hung up, set the alarm and headed to sleep. The sound of the alarm woke him six hours later. Zac quickly dressed and headed over to Jessy's house to have breakfast with Momma and talk to Jessy again. "Go ahead, answer it Zac." Barbara told him. "Jessy?" Zac answered. "Hey babe. You made it and you said you weren't a morning person." Jessy teased. "I'm not, as soon as I'm done talking to you, I'm headed to your bed to take a nap before I go to the bank for you." Zac explained and the two talked for about an hour before Bobby came to take her to breakfast. This was their routine for the next four days until Jessy was on the road again, heading into Montana for a three day show. Jessy spoke with Zac every morning and twice in the evening. By the end of the first week, Jessy found it harder and harder to say goodbye and would fall to sleep at night listening to Zac's voice. The day she was packing to head to Calgary, "Man Zac, your tee and boxers smell like my tee and boxers. I miss you even more now." Jessy complained. "Want me send you another set?" Zac teased. "Yeah would you? Hey take your clothes off and put them in a plastic back and overnight express mail to me in Calgary." Jessy said. "Babe I was teasing." Zac said. "I'm not, strip boy. Don't you love me Zac?" Jessy pouted. "Jessy you know I do. But I'd die if anyone found out I took off my clothes and mailed them to you." Zac said. "Fine." Jessy whispered, "I gotta go now anyway. I'm on my own this time, the Rodeo is headed to the Dakotas. I'd rather drive in the daytime Zac so I'm gonna head out. I'll call you when I get to Calgary hun. Bye." Jessy said and hung up without waiting for Zac to respond. She was packed in a matter of minutes and on the road. At the border she had to get the horses out so they could search the trailer before they finally approved all the paper work and Jessy was on her way to the Calgary Stampede. She pulled into the grounds around dinner time and was directed to her camp spot, "Man nothing like living in a fish bowl. Right out front where everybody can see me." Jessy said. "You're money in the bank Jessy. The whole world wants to see you." Blake, the Stampede promoter said, adding, "Let me take you to dinner tonight to show the town you're here?" "I don't know Blake, I got an important call to make besides unloading my babies." Jessy explained. "No problem, got guys on the way. Tell them what to do and you put on something pretty and I'll show you around." Blake ordered. "You are so hard to say no to. Man you're going get me in trouble." Jessy said. "So that's a yes. Pick you up in an hour babe." Blake said leaving before she could say a word. Horses were unloaded and in the pen provided and Jessy headed over to shower and change for dinner. As soon as she was dressed she dialed home, "Hey Momma it's me, I'm in Calgary." Jessy said when Barbara answered. "Hey baby, that's great but why you calling me?" Barbara asked. "Umm I sort of need a favor. I somehow agreed to dinner with Blake Adams and I don't want to even go there with Zac right now. So would you just call him and explain that I'm here and had lots to do and I'll talk to him later tonight?" Jessy asked. "Baby what's up? Why don't you want to go where with Zac right now?" Barbara asked. "It's nothing Momma, just, oh it's, Come on in Blake." Jessy yelled. "Damn girl, you look hot. I didn't realize you were so beautiful." Blake said. "Me neither." Jessy teased. "Mighty fine. This is one job I'm going to love. You about ready to go babe, I can't wait too show you off." Blake said excitedly. "Umm Momma, you going to call him for me?" Jessy asked. "I don't like this young lady." Barbara said. "Fine I'll call him myself. Goodbye Momma I gotta go." Jessy said. "Jessica Lee don't talk to me in that tone." Barbara scolded. "I'm sorry Momma but I need to go so I can call and explain and he's not going to understand, so I'll have to cut him short and he'll get pissed because I hung up on him this morning." Jessy said. "You did what?" Barbara asked. "I didn't mean to Momma but I was acting like a spoiled brat and when he wouldn't do what I asked, I cut him off short and hung up." Jessy said worry in her voice. "That's why you want me to tell him instead of calling him yourself. You were wrong and you don't want to admit it?" Barbara said. "Yeah Momma, I'll apologize when he calls me a bedtime okay?" Jessy asked. "Sure baby I'll call and let him know you're doing some promo stuff and you can't wait to talk to him later." Barbara agreed. "Thanks Momma I love you. Bye." Jessy said as she and Blake hit the town. Everywhere they went, cameraa flashed, the Steakhouse for dinner, the Hall Of Fame, and then they started hitting all of the clubs. "Oh my god, Blake I can't go in here, BackStreet Boys are playing." Jessy complained. "Jessy I promised the club you'd stop by for promotional pictures. I don't think they'd be here yet, too early." Blake said and she agreed and was immediately introduced as the band was on stage. Blake escorted her to the stage and delivered her personally to Nick who wrapped his arms around her and kissing her deeply and passionately and without thinking Jessy slapped him. "Don't you ever do that again." Jessy said storming from the club. "Jessy stop, I'm sorry. I had no idea. Everything I read said you two are an item." Blake explained. "Wrong. I love someone else." Jessy said glaring at him, adding, "Your promoting is done. I refuse to deal with you." "Jessy be reasonable. I got some bum advice." Blake explained. "From Nick Carter probably. Well you just got used fool." Jessy said turning and racing away. "Jessy stop." Blake called after her but losing her in the crowd. Jessy made her way back to the grounds, stopping to check Buster and Beauty before heading in for the night, waiting for Zac to call. She cried herself to sleep about 1am as she realized Zac wasn't calling. Jessy tossed and turned all night and by 5am she had given up and was staring at the ceiling trying to figure out how things had gone so wrong. All she had wanted was to feel closer to Zac, but now she felt as far enough away not to even matter to him. An hour later she had cried herself back to sleep, as Zac unlocked the door with the spare keys Barbara had given him. He quietly closed the door and made his way to the far side of the bed where she laid, curled in ball, tears still on her face. "Baby I'm sorry. I didn't think how much harder this must be on you, alone. Jessy I'm so sorry, I'm at home sleeping in your bed, driving your car, living with your family and I still missed you. I can't imagine how alone you felt and how hurt you must have been when I refused your request." Zac whispered making his way to the door locking it, then undressing and slipping into bed with her. Zac carefully laid beside Jessy, watching her sleep as he lightly placed an arm over her, holding her. As she started to toss and turn again, "Zac" she screamed and woke with a start. "Jessy baby it's okay. I'm here for you." Zac said as she started to cry. "Baby don't cry. Ssshh." Zac said. "Zac I'm sorry I just missed you so much is all." Jessy explained. "I know baby, I'm sorry I didn't realize it sooner. I'm here now." Zac said kissing her deeply then holding her tight. "I love you so much for this Zac." Jessy said as her tears finally stopped. They laid in each other's arms talking about everything, their families, the horses, the studio, the center, Chele and Tay, Monica and Isaac, her slapping Nick, their love for each other and their future. "I better get up and check the horses." Jessy said and the two dressed and tended to the horses, grooming them for the afternoon show. They headed for lunch, staying on the grounds and then back to get ready for the afternoon show, saddling the horses, then Jessy got dressed. Zac stood ringside with Beauty as Jessy performed, thrilling the crowds with her skill. Zac stood proudly waiting for Jessy's signal to send in Beauty, then watching her amaze the crowds as she danced back and forth between the two horses. After the show they tended to the horses, putting on their blankets to keep them clean for tonight's show. Zac ran and bought a pizza and the two holed up in the trailer, eating, talking, and enjoying each other's company until the next show. Zac helped again and the show went even better than the afternoon show. While they were grooming the horses, Jessy noticed the change in Zac, "Hun are you leaving me tonight?" Jessy asked. "Yeah babe the jet will be back in about two hours." Zac explained watching for Jessy's reaction to the news. "Zac thanks for coming. I don't want you to go but I understand you have to." Jessy said hugging him. They finished chores and sat holding each other until the car arrived to take Zac to the airport. Zac quickly changed his clothes, leaving Jessy with his tee and boxers, "Here this is why I came, to deliver something to make you feel closer to me." Zac said kissing her deeply, adding, "You stay here and try and get some extra sleep to make up for last night." Zac explained as she walked him to his ride. She stood waving goodbye as the car drove out of sight. Jessy headed back to her trailer, checking horses one last time before dressing in her Zac tee and boxers and crawling into bed for the night.
