Baby You'r So Fine

Chapter Five

"Did you hear that?" Jessy asked. "What? Oh be patient. Jessy it'll be okay. Just relax." Chele said as Jessy paced back and forth. "Relax? My gawd sis, I was teasing about him buying a truck and he bolts out of here so fast... What if he didn't hear me tell him I was joking?" Jessy moaned as she collapsed into the corner, sliding down the wall. "I'm sure if he buys a truck it was something he was going to do anyway." Chele said as she finally heard it too. "I know you heard it this time. Someone is calling my name." Jessy said rising and making her way to the front windows with her sister. "I don't believe it." Jessy squealed turning and racing down the stairs and out the front door. "Zac Hanson you goof. Cool truck." Jessy shouted before bursting out laughing. "Yeah Zac cool truck. Where's the rest of it?" Chele choked out through the laughter. "Are you laughing at my truck?" Zac asked with a chuckle. "You know there's something about a man in a pickup truck." Jessy sang making goo goo eyes at Zac. "You like my truck huh? You're pretty." Zac asked smiling at her. "Oh yeah I like your truck." Jessy teased reaching out and touching his hand lightly. "What kind of furniture you think I have Zac?" Chele asked between the laughter. "What are you saying Chele? Don't you like my truck?" Zac pouted. "Yeah Sis don't you like my man's truck?" Jessy asked putting her hands on her hips. "Your man huh? You can say that seeing this, this... do I gotta call it a truck? It's, it's so small." Chele teased. "Be careful babe. He's sensitive about the size." Taylor teased. "What you mean it's so small?" Jessy choked out. "Jessy are you laughing at my truck?" Zac asked nudging her. "No Zac. I know they say size doesn't matter." Jessy said trying desperately not to laugh. "Are you laughing about the size? You don't think it's small do you?" Zac asked egging her on. "No Zac." Jessy choked out quickly turning her back to him as she laughed silently. "Jessy you sure you're not laughing?" Zac asked as he started laughing himself. "Oh God Zac it's so cute." Jessy choked out turning back around, hugging him, whispering, "I was so afraid you had gone out to buy a truck." "But I did Jessy. Don't you like my truck?" Zac teased pulling her onto his lap. "Zac." Jessy squealed, finishing, "Don't break it. I don't think you can haul my big butt in this truck. Zac I'm sure Mackie would love it." "I bought the truck for you Jessy. You said to go buy a truck." Zac shared rubbing his nose against hers. "So where is it?" Jessy teased laughing again. "You're sitting in it." Zac pouted. "Zac this is a toy truck." Jessy insisted, adding, "We have people size furniture not doll furniture Zac." "I was just teasing Jessy. Here comes the real truck. It's belongs to Ash's Dad." Zac replied pointing down the street. "Hmmm you made out in your truck yet?" Jessy whispered twirling a strand of his hair around her finger. "I bought the truck for you. You made out in your pickup truck yet Jessy?" Zac asked gazing deeply into her bright blue eyes. "No way. Just got her." Jessy squealed patting the plastic hood of the battery operated Big Foot pickup. "So you like her huh?" Zac asked. "Oh yeah. My boyfriend got her for me. Isn't she cute?" Jessy squealed. "So your boyfriend got you this fine truck?" Zac teased patting the side of the truck then patting her butt. "Yeah my friend who's a boy, bought me this truck. It's fine." Jessy replied. "It's fine." Zac whispered rubbing her butt. "You could say he hauls ass in that truck." Taylor teased. "What a load." Chele teased back. "Hey you making fun of my truck?" Zac asked their snickers. "What truck?" Chele teased, adding, "Why don't we go pick up our furniture and leave those two alone with their truck." "You think they'll figure out what to do with it?" Taylor teased. "You making fun of us?" Jessy squealed as Zac pinched her. "We know what to do?" Zac insisted. "With the truck Zac. With the truck." Chele said glaring at his hand on her sister's butt. "Oh get going and get the furniture so we have something to sit on." Jessy suggested. "Why don't you two go get groceries and take the car not the truck." Chele said with a chuckle, adding, "We have company coming for dinner and that truck won't haul enough to feed a bird." "Who's coming to dinner?" Jessy asked. "Don't you think we owe the guys something for helping?" Chele answered with a question. 'Duh but they're not company. You said company was coming for dinner." Jessy insisted. "Yes they are. If they aren't company what are they?" Chele asked. "Friends." Jessy answered. "Not with the friends that are boys again." Zac teased. "Don't like that huh? How about a friend that's a boy that bought me a fine truck and I'm so appreciative." Jessy said kissing him deeply. "Friends is nice." Zac moaned as she pulled her lips from his. "So what you guys want for supper?" Jessy asked. "I like anything." Zac answered. "We know you'll eat anything she was asking us." Ash teased. "Anything will be fine Jessy." Taylor answered. "Anything huh?" Jessy snickered. "Sis be good. Remember we have to eat it too!" Chele teased. "Oh yeah. I guess roadkill is off the menu then. Sorry guys." Jessy teased. "Darn." Zac said faking gagging. "You be good. I'm a good cook Zac, honest." Jessy said climbing out of his lap, adding, "Get your butt out of my truck. I'm going to take her for a spin." "Don't be picking 'em up in your pick 'em up truck woman." Zac teased. "Wow that make a great song Zac. Not." Jessy teased as Taylor wrapped an arm around his brother and the two harmonized to 'Don't be picking 'em up in that there pick 'em up truck' as Jessy tooled down the sidewalk waving. "Both hands on the wheel Sis or I'm taking the keys." Chele hollered after her. "Can't. They don't come out." Jessy said pulling at the big plastic key then laughing. "She can't lose them that way." Zac teased. "Smart move Zac." Chele replied. "I heard that." Jessy squealed. "You don't cross the street in that thing woman. Jessy do you hear me." Zac yelled chasing after her. "We'll see you with the furniture. Make sure you get groceries." Chele hollered as she loaded up with Taylor and Ash to retrieve their furniture. "Jessy wait." Zac called watching her turn the corner. "Beep. Beep. Hey guys." Jessy called out to the group of little boys. "Hey Lady. Like your truck." one of the replied. "Me too. Isn't it awesome." Jessy said stopping in front of their house, adding, "I'm Jessy. I'm moving in around the corner." "Mommy this is Jessy." one of them said as she came through the door. "Well hi Jessy. I heard 'Welcome to the Neighborhood' is called for." the woman said. "Well thank you. My Sis is moving into an apartment around the corner. I'm out tooling in my new wheels and the boys seem to like it." Jessy replied. "Mommy it's just like the one we want." one of the boys called out. "Yeah it's what I wanted for my birthday." the other pouted. "Daniel White I explained. Sweetie until Daddy is back to work." the woman said bending to his size. "I know. I'm sorry Mommy." he said with such a sad face. "You want to drive it? If that's okay with Mommy?" Jessy asked. "Oh you don't have to." the mother answered. "Let's call it a late birthday surprise. Can we Mommy?" Jessy asked again. "I don't see why not." she answered as the boys squealed. Jessy fastened them in, explaining how to drive before sending them on their way. "Hey Zac." Jessy called to him as he approached. "Hey Jessy. See you're making new friends." Zac replied. "Yeah and they're boys." Jessy teased. "I see. Turned me in for a couple of younger friends huh?" Zac teased back. "New neighbors. I'm sorry I didn't ask your name." Jessy explained turning to the neighbor. "I'm Mary White. So you know my neighbor huh Zac?" she answered. "Umm guilty. We just met too." Zac answered and the three chatted watching the boys drive up and down the block. "Mommy see me." one of the boys squealed. "You're looking good son." she called back. "That's Zac Hanson." the older boy said pointing at Zac. "Zac Hanson. Nah. Wow you're right." Jessy squealed. "Where?" Zac teased. "Smarty pants." Jessy squealed sticking out her tongue. "So you like her wheels guys?" Zac asked and they talked while they continue to drive up and down the block. "This is so nice of you. They're enjoying it so." Mary shared. "They sure are. Zac. Zac." Jessy said trying to get his attention. "Yeah babe?" Zac replied racing her way. "Zac. Um I don't know how to ask this." Jessy started. "Jessy you can ask me anything okay?" Zac said taking her hands in his. "Yeah I guess I knew that you'd say that. Thanks Zac. You know when I looked down and saw you tooling up in this truck... I smiled so big Zac. It made me so happy. Such a goofy thing to do but i just liked it so. And when you said you bought the truck for me... I was so impressed. I mean it's a toy but they don't come cheap. I really love my truck Zac but..." Jessy shared. "But what Jessy?" Zac interrupted to ask. "Oh Zac look at them. As happy as the truck made me, I don't think I smiled as big as those two are. Zac they're having hard times right now. I heard Mary remind Daniel that untill Daddy went back to work... Gees Zac it's all he wanted for his birthday and they can't afford to give it to him." Jessy shared as tears filled her eyes. "Jessy it's okay. Don't cry. I get what your suggesting. It's such a nice thing you want to do Jessy. I'm so proud of you for thinking of it. Let's ask Mary." Zac insisted. "Oh Zac. You're nicer than I ever imagined. Thanks for understanding I was impressed when you gave me the truck but this just blows me away. Thanks Zac." Jessy whispered hugging him tight, laying her head against his chest as the tears fell. "You blow me away too babe." Zac whispered back, kissing the top of her head. The two headed over to Mary finally convincing her that she would be saving Jessy who would have to carry the truck upstairs to store it. "You two remember, Sunday dinner here and bring your sister if you'd like." Mary said waving goodbye as the two made their way arm in arm back the way they came.
