"Mr. Smith is waiting for you Mr. Hanson, please right this way." the receptionist said. "Walker, didn't expect to see you, just your lovely wife. Diana how are you?" the attorney greeted. "Just fine John as long as you can help us. You remember Isaac. Isaac." Diana said nodding at Kaitlyn. "Isaac you've grown again. How tall are you now?" Mr. Smith asked. "5'10" last time we measured. Mr. Smith I'd like you to meet my fiance, Kaitlyn King. Kaitlyn this is the family attorney we told you about, Mr. Smith." Isaac said. "Mr. Smith thank you for your time on such short notice, I hope you can help." Kaitlyn said extending her hand. "Lovely young lady Isaac, Kaitlyn I hope I can help you too. Let me start with you. Please everyone sit. Kaitlyn I'd like your permission to tape this conversation. I do it for myself, so I don't forget any of the important details." Mr. Smith asked. "Certainly, I understand." Kaitlyn answered and the two discussed her feelings of her family,Isaac, the Hansons, schooling, her future. It was the last question that shocked the room. "Kaitlyn what is it you really want to accomplish besides marrying the man of your dreams here?" Mr. Smith chuckled. "Marrying Isaac is my main goal, but I've thought about this for quite a few years. I need an informational release form to sign if you could have one drawn up addressed to this Private Investigation Firm, I dealt with the owner personally." Kaitlyn asked handing him the card. "Margaret could you come in here please?" the attorney said into the intercom and shortly a woman entered the room. "Margaret, Kaitlyn King, I need you to draw up a standard Information Release, all information, for Kaitlyn to sign before she leaves here. It needs to be notorized. Thank you." he said. "Margaret here's my drivers license for the correct spelling and address." Kaitlyn said handing her the license. "I know John Foster personally Kaitlyn, how'd you come to do business with him." Mr. Smith asked. "Mr. Foster lived two doors from me, next door to the Hanson's when I lived here before. I called him almost three years ago when I looked up the statute of limitation on a child abuse charge in the State of Oklahoma and found that I had three years to still file charges against my father and emotional neglect charges against both of them. Mr. Foster has been helping me build my case. I have sworn depositions from everyone in the neighborhood except for Mom and Dad. I have pictures of the bruises, and a sworn affidavit to the authenticity of the pictures, I need your word that she won't be prosecuted for not reporting the abuse, I have video and audio tapes of the emotional abuse of the past three years. Mr. Foster believes prostitution charges should be filed and I disagree beause they weren't of a sexual nature, more of a escort service, except the latest tape would have our last dinner conversation on it and mother did say to give him something to remember me by so he would want me over an floozie he hooked up with while I was gone. Pimping wouldn't you say. My father joined in telling me what skimpy outfit to wear, that he would understand what I meant. Here's the name of someone he should depose, he was the guy I was with the night I gave my exfiance something to remember me by. I'll call him myself this afternoon when he's done working and explain, I trust him, he's a good guy. Then I'd like to sue them in Civil court for emotional distress, stemming from the emotional neglect charge. I esitmate my parents net worth somewhere in the neighborhood of 4.5 million, I also have inside infomation that could create nightmares with the IRS as bargaining leverage. I'll guarantee your fee, I have a trust from my grandparents, that's where my parents got their money they received 10 million when my grandparents were killed, and have squandered more than half of it. I figure it's not my fault they only have 4.5 left, I'll take my share of the 10, or 3.3 million out of their remaining 4.5 but I'd like them to pay legal fees also if the judge is so incline. So do you think you can help me?" Kaitlyn asked her head held high by the time she finished explaining. "Beauty and brains, Isaac I hope you appreciate what you have young man. Kaitlyn I think you have helped yourself, all you need is someone to see the proper paper work is completed and I'd be glad to help you. I think we need to look into the ramifications of declaring you an emancipated adult before the child abuse charges have been filed. I'm sure you felt you would be able to marry your white knight here by being declared emancipated but you have to decide which is more important, my gut tells me we can't have both. The next fastest solution is voluntary released custody and from what you tell me that won't happen, especially to Diana and Walker. Kaitlyn what is it?" he asked. "They gave temporary custody of me to the Red Cross. It was to the Midwest Region, based Springfield and Location would probably be my assignment in Missouri. I'm wondering if my advisors, John and Mary Smith, have temporary custody of me right now and they could give their consent for me to marry Isaac now." Kaitlyn said. "I'm lost here, why does the Red Cross have temporary custody of you?" the attorney asked. "I'm sorry, I'm in a summer volunteer program the Red Cross runs, the custody covers, excuse me. Isaac could you go to the car, under the passenger seat that's where I put the Red Cross packet with a copy of all my completed forms. Please would you go get them? Thanks hun." Kaitlyn asked and then kissed him before he left. "John while they're busy, if you need someone to report the abuse charges, I'll do it. I've felt guilty for six years about not stopping what happened, it would do my soul wonders to finally do something." Diana told him. "Diana do you think she'll go ahead with the charges, if marrying Isaac is her main goal?" he asked. "Why are you asking Mom to answer for me? I don't think you understand, Mom just confessed that for six years she has carried guilt around, I'm sure Daddy and every other adult in the neighborhood has. Why do you think Mr. Foster has helped, he has guilt. Right before we left the house, we added Taylor to the list of victims. So many lives have been affected negatively by them, and I insist they be held accountable for their actions. I don't know how else to get my point across, I can't and I won't take their abuse anymore. It ends today, I can't."Kaitlyn stopped as her eyes filled with tears and she sat to compose herself, and continued, "Please don't baby me Mom, I have to grow up and do this." Kaitlyn said to Diana's attempted hug, finishing, "You're right no child should have to face this, so I'll stop being a child and face this to make sure it never happens again. Being my parents, does not give them the right to treat me the way they do, as parents they are Unfit and If I have to face them and tell them so, I will just have to find the strength to do just that. I'll take your help by taking me to church with you in the morning, I need to ask for more strength." Kaitlyn said. "I'm proud of you Kaitlyn." Diana said as Isaac entered the room with the papers. "I didn't know why I picked them up and brought them. Now I do. I'll leave the packet with you. It has information on the program, contact numbers. As of today, I'm using Mom and Dad as my place of residence, and contact number, Isaac knows how to get hold of me if you need me. I'm two hours into Missouri so I could come home overnight if needed or you can come see me." Kaitlyn said noticing Isaac's concern om her leaving. "Kaitlyn how do you get along with the notorious John and Mary Smith. Boy they must take a razzing." Mr. Smith laughed. "I've only know them three days. They're childless not by choice, devoted to each other, the Red Cross, the town even. Daddy close you ears, Mr Smith is sort of a father figure already. It's okay Daddy. They were both excited I was in love and going to be with him, so I'd say that makes them good people, hopeful people or at least in my judgment that makes them good people." Kaitlyn answered. "Kaitlyn I am impressed with your judgment they sound like definite good people. From what I read, what you said is fact. Your parents gave total temporary custody granting all decisions not just temporary health and welfare custody on emergency health and welfare matters. If we can get John and Mary to agree to sign, you can get married now from everything I read but let me research it before you approach the Smiths. Isaac I would suggest you meet these people and convince them of your good intentions. Wouldn't hurt to take the whole family along to pick her up the next weekend or to take her to dinner to celebrate their engagement and take her co-workers. Include them in your joy Kaitlyn but don't approach them yet on signing." Mr. Smith said. "Isaac what's wrong?" Kaitlyn asked turning to see him. "Can you excuse us." Kaitlyn asked rising and walking to Isaac. "Walk me to the bathroom. Okay?" Kaitlyn asked extending her hands pulling him to his feet and he kissed her on the forehead. The two left the room and when they returned. "Isaac believes I should tell you that I may be pregnant. He feels it could change things if not handled properly. So Mr Smith there is the possiblity that I am pregnant and that is why marrying Isaac is so important. We didn't plan for things to happen this way, but I haven't had a lot of say in my life up until this point so forgive me if I make mistakes or don't follow all the rules. Some of them I don't know about, I have so much to learn, but at least now, I have good role models. Thanks Mom and Dad." Kaitlyn said as Isaac hugged her. "Thanks for being honest with me, it couldn't have been an easy decision." Mr. Smith said. "Oh but it was, I not only love him, I trust him and he's always had Mom and Dad, He's pretty good at all this stuff." Kaitlyn smiled as Isaac kissed the top of her head. "You young lady are the most refreshing spirit I have met in quite a while." Mr. Smith said standing extending his hand. "It's soaring real high right now because it's been hiding for a long time and it likes being free again." Kaitlyn beamed taking his hand. Isaac thanked him. "If you'll take her out and make sure she signs that form for me Isaac. Ask the receptionist to see Margaret. Thanks, nice seeing you again." Mr.Smith said and they left to find Margaret and sign the release. The four went to lunch to celebrate Isaac and Kaitlyn's engagement. Before they had left the restaurant, the press had gotten wind of a mystery girl with one of the Hanson boys. Luckily Kaitlyn was in the bathroom and noticed the reporters. She wrote a note to be delivered to Isaac "Treehouse" and she headed out the kitchen to an awaiting cab.
